I've been a PT of Dr Tae due to heart conditions, the place is very small which can easily be missed. Doctor tae has been a great doctor and definitely he can get mad at you if you don't follow his advice. There's been some days here and there where I didn't agree when he did some testings and said that he didn't find anything. Unfortunately, I have had strokes in the past and notttt fun. Doctor kept saying "he didn't think mine was a stroke and said it was something else." Hospital doctors and neurologist doctors stated it was a stroke what I had. I was back and forth trying to tell Dr tae how everything happened, but he didn't want to believe me. He's a very nice doctor with a strong attitude and funny of course, but I have had my disagreements with him which is sad. I really do like him it's just that I wished he would try a little harder to be more attentive and caring for the patients. He had Asked me to be on certain medications for years, but I was previously told that being on a specific medication for so long can also cause other issues so I stopped. I told Doctor tae & he got upset because I wasn't taking the meds. Some services can be good and others bad. The Asian Nurses know me so well because I've been coming here for years & they have been so nice and sweet to me. Once again doctors services are different every single time I go see him so you never know what to expect from the won that day. 1 thing I doooo like is that they open Saturdays so if you work during the week and can't make it you have the option to schedule an appointment for a Saturday and if you do need to pay them it's CASH ONLY nooo cards accepted. read more

Took my parent here to do an EKG for a 11am appointment. We waited for 3 hours and haven't been call in. We check the with the receptionist, and they told us 15 more minutes. After 15 minutes, then another 30 minutes has passed, then another 45 minutes has passed still waiting. The office staff went to lunch then came back and told us we will be next. I mean, why don't they have the courtesy to tell us to go to lunch and come back. We waited in the waiting area after they came back for lunch and still waiting, it's 2pm now and still waiting. Since my parents need this EKG to be done, we waited. If you don't have a heart problem, waiting here will definitely pissed you off to get high blood pressure to have a a heart problem. read more

My other siblings been taking my mom here to one of the Dr. there. I went in there once and the place is super dirty and crowded. Even in the summer it is hot in there. They been prescribing my mom this heart medicine and we notice that every time she takes it her feet swells. Been trying to get the Dr. to change it but getting the run-around. Goes to a voicemail box that is not set up. When finally get a hold, will get back to us but never does. And outright refused to change out to a different alternative medicine. Just plain awful. This place doesn't even feel like a medical office, more like a dungeon. The vibe is horrible! If you have a health concern, please pleaaaase seek medical attention elsewhere. They don't treat their patients with care. Currently sitting at this office writing a bad review because my appointment was at 9:30 but it's already been an hour... also just dying from waiting. How is this office in business?! Most people can't pick their specialist because of insurance hence that is why they are shunted in this place. Depending on insurance, you just have to suck it up and go to the office your primary gave you. I've been to this office a couple of times. With me, the find that the front desk is very rude. Maybe they are busy but it does not give them the excuse to be rude and shouting and patients. That's just poor bedside manner. The doctor may have a wall of certificates, but he seems like he has 0 clue on what he's doing. I came here with my mom for her appointment and it was the same thing. My mother has been a patient of Dr. Yee for more than 10 years now. He is a great cardiologist. He has maintained her heart health in a balanced state since then. The office is small for the amount of patients that come from knees and far to see him. There are 3 additional providers here as well. So yes it gets pretty packed also considering most of the patients are older and they come with an additional person helping and guiding them. The wait times are sometimes longer than expected depend on the services needed. I recommend Dr. Yee and would give him 10 stars for his services. read more

I've been visiting Dr. Yee for about 18 months since being assigned him by my HMO. He is a hyper, energetic guy who seems to know his stuff, but is busy as can be. The staff are generally pleasant. English is not the first language for most working here. The majority of patients speak Mandarin or Cantonese, but I've heard Hindi, Vietnamese, Spanish, and something I didn't recognize. Not a lot of English though. The office is old, a little run down, and the small waiting room means usually 2 or 3 people have to stand. Today was a typical visit: 1:40 wait to get called into a private room and then another 20 minutes to see Dr. Yee. So, even WITH an appointment it took TWO HOURS to see him. read more

This doctor is pleasant enough and really knows his stuff when it comes to cardiology, but unfortunately he is clueless when it comes to ensuring that his office is clean and safe for his patients. I've been here several times and the waiting room is overcrowded, standing room only as if you are in a subway at rush hour. I guess they dont care about physical distancing during covid and flu season. And without an adequate sized waiting room and lack of seating do they really expect elderly patients to stand for 1 hour until they are called??? Be prepared to bring hand sanitizer and ppe items because the restroom is always dirty, without paper hand towels, toilet paper or seat covers available. Although the staff is doing the best they can, they are obviously overwhelmed. If this office doesn't step up and meet the basic standards of cleanliness that is required in Healthcare facilities, I will be submitting a formal complaint to the State health department. read more

I accompanied a family friend here for their pre-surgery check-ups. We were here for over 5 hours when told that all would be completed around 3 hours. And what I witnessed were beyond horrendous. This place has many problems. Disorganization and overbooking are only a minor issues here, compared to other things I saw. Patient privacy has no place here. The first thing I noticed is that they do exams for multiple patients at once -- in a single exam room. To my shock, because they booked more patients than they can handle, they opened up a room with stacks and shelves of folders containing patient profiles - so that people who are waiting can have some space to stand in the meantime. Patient safety also has no place here. We visited during COVID-19, and they had no safety precautions whatsoever. No temperature checks, and no safety measures to make sure people were socially distancing. They had a printed sign on their back entrance asking visitors to enter through the front door. However, when people came to the front door, they find that it is locked. No staff answers the door when they knock or ring the bell. Visitors are then gestured to return to the back door, and they realize that the back door - with signs asking people to NOT enter - is actually unlocked. So everyone enters and exits through the back door. All staffs and doctors do the same, and none of them seem to care. I also witnessed a horrifying instance in which a patient was concerned about an IV injection and was later on forced into doing it. The patient was apparently uninformed and unaware that they were getting an invasive treatment, so they rushed out of a room shouting with fear. The patient asked to speak to the doctor, but then one nurse forced the patient back while saying "just do what the doctor says". The doctor was there, too. But he didn't say a word. That patient was then taken back to an exam - likely not knowing exactly what exam was being performed on them. In my friend's case, the needle of for an IV transfusion was left in her veins when she was asked by the staff to leave for lunch and come back afterwards. They told my friend that they were going to reuse the needle for another of her exams in the afternoon. When we returned, they took out the IV needle out immediately. What they told my friend was unacceptable. They said that they left the needle in because in the past, some patients simply left and never came back for the afternoon exam. They are willing to go this far -- risking the safety of their patients -- in order to force them to come back, instead of communicating with them. On that same day, my friend also had an electrocardiogram. When she finished her scanning, we asked the doctor and the nurse what the results are. The doctor seemed completely unresponsive and stayed completely silent while the nurse proceeded to say that it was "just part of the general process", and that "it's fine" - nothing else were shared. What is up with the doctors here? Why aren't they answering our questions? Why are the nurses heading these conversations? All of this goes to show how little they care. And perhaps how corrupted this place might be. These were only a few instances that I witnessed. The chaos of the office as well as the unresponsiveness and rudeness of the staff -- lack of or confusing instructions as to what visitors are to do, shouting at patients, empty front desk with no receptionist, perpetually ringing phone and unanswered calls, narrow hallway with patients crowding (clearly against the fire code), just to name a few -- are unworthy of mentioning compared to many other horrendous acts going on in here. The scariest thing is, the doctors were part of it all - they saw and permitted all of this. This place does not deserve to exist. read more

The office lady are super rude and they don't care about their client. Not considerate at all. My mom had a appointment at 11am. We got here at 1050am, it's now almost 2pm, still haven't see the doctor yet. Another waited an hour, I ask to see how much longer and they said you are the next person to be seen. Then another hour --- you will be call next... they all brought lunch and had lunch and came back from lunch. We just waiting in the waiting room and we are next to been seen???? The whole waiting was full when we arrived and now, we are the only people here, how are we the next patient to be seen???? We don't mind waiting, because Dr. Yee is a good doctor and we know his time is important.. so is our time, 3 hours wait??? At least be consider enough to tell us it will be a while and if we want we should go have lunch and come back... How inconsiderate can anyone be to allow a sick patient who had a stoke 2 weeks ago with heart condition sit in the waiting room for 3 hours?? It's almost like we have nothing better to do!! Anyway, this is by far the worst experience at any doctor's office. I use to work for doctor's office and I know what they have to deal with.. the phone calls, the patients and the doctors!!! If my surgeon didn't refer this doctor for pre-op approval I would never come here. They never pick up their phone. They don't communicate to each other what forms they had you fill out. They complain in Chinese while your on the phone with them. I waited over an hour just to get my blood pressure checked. I went to Dr. Yee's office on a Friday as a drop in for an EKG for possible pre-op bariatric surgery because I was had made prior appointments in the past and was unable to make them due to mobility issues because of a knee injury. If you similar issues and need accomodations, either have someone drop you off and park or go with a different provider. Because of this office's location on Garfield there is one sole handicap parking spot right at the rear entrance and there is a somewhat steep tiled incline right as you step into the office from the back door (not sure how anyone on a wheel chair would navigate that safely). I was on crutches due to a knee injury and had to inch my way precariously down this incline and pray my crutch didn't slip and that I'd fall. There was a worker from the office coming behind me that kind of spotted me until I made it down which was nice of her to do. The office is oblong so the hallway to the front is fairly long. As I walked down the hallway on my crutches I passed doors to various exam rooms, storage rooms and rooms that looked like storage rooms that doubled as exam rooms or vice versa. Along the way I asked to use the restroom and upon observation, it was pretty gnarly. There no toilet seat covers, there was old equipment including a decrepit wheel chair in there against the wall and the cleanliness of the floor was questionable. There was cleaning products (Kaboom!) in a corner on the floor. In a nutshell, with the exception of the waiting room which was I would give a grade of C for passing, the rest of the office I would grade as a D- as it was generally unclean, outdated and poorly maintained. It reminded me of what a doctor's office in a 3rd world country might look like. I wondered if I was being too picky but I read other reviews that also mention the poor state of the office so I don't think it's just me. After being told it would be a two hour wait, because of my experience/observations of the office thus far and the precarious state of my knee (I have good and bad days), instead of biting the bullet and waiting to get the EKG done, I decided to call my surgeon's office and see if I could request another cardiologist with a more accessible, clean, updated and accommodating office within my IPA network (and I was successful). My review only reflects my experience of the actual office and its atmosphere solely and is not a reflection of any experience with Dr. Yee as I did not stay to meet with him. I also don't really have anything negative to say about the staff either. read more

I was referred to this office by my family doctor, and it turned out to be a nightmare. I went there 4 times, the 2nd time was for ultrasound and nuclear heart exam, when I had to wait for at least 1.5 hours. The 4th time I got smart and requested an afternoon appointment. So I went there at 1:30, waited until 4:00, then I asked the lady "how long I should wait "? She said "just wait ". I said "if I must why don't you give me 3:30"? She said "you didn't ask". Finally I said "if I cannot see the doctor soon I'll leave ", she said "go ahead ". So I left. In the morning they booked about 60 patients. There're 4 ladies there but they were all very busy so no one would answer any question,you can hear the phone rang all the time and no one would care. I blame myself why went there 4 times. Never been to a cardiologist as terrible as this one. Dr. Yee is nice but the front desk is horrible. Cancelled my appointment two times without notifying, when I got there they insisted that they called many times and my phone has no voicemail. I'm 100% sure my voicemail is workin n I called my home immediately in front of them and they were just speechless. And this is not the most ridiculous, third time re-scheduling the same appointment for an examination, they called me one hour before appointment saying that Dr. Yee is not available n the appointment needed to be cancelled. I questioned them that it's not a doctor follow-up appointment but an examination, and the examination does not require the presence of doctor but the technician (that was the reason why they cancelled my last two appointments saying that the technician was not available). The nurse on the phone was so confused because she wasn't sure whether it was a doctor appointment or examination! It's totally a joke and I switched to another cardiologist immediately. They also have a lot of other issues, when I arrived and rang the doorbell, they simply ignored you. I waited for two minutes at the door so I called the reception desk and nobody picked up, while I saw some nurses just walking n chatting inside. Their sign in sheet is also weird, they just give you a list of names to sign in, they don't tell you what to do, I see a bunch of names and appointment time including mine, there's no space for signing in, I asked if I put a check next to it or cross it out or what? I saw highlighted names, crossed out name...etc. They didn't answer me, so I just circle my name. And I noticed that after I signed in, nobody bothered to touch the sign-in sheet so I questioned them after 15 minutes since it already past my appointment time. And at that time the nurse told me that the appointment was cancelled because the technician was not present. JUST DON'T GO THERE! read more

The skinny older chinese lady in the front was extremely rude, Dr Yee should let her go. The receptionist has no knowledge, need more training. Dr Yee is friendly, he is detail and very pleasant. There are 2 doctors in the clinic , not only Yee but also the other 1 . Very bad service and the other doctor was hurrible , my medicine suppose to a long term but he only prescribe 1 month so I can keep going to visit him , also he add another medicine and never mention it , I did not know till I went to cvs and get it , I do not know what is it for till the pharmacist told me .the above review was done a month ago . As soon as I told the asian lady, when I told her she act like DAAAA stupid in way. After I told her to canceled all my appt she said it is good. NOT SURE WHAT THAT MEAN. I have been Dr. Yee's patience for more than 5 yrs and I am not going back due to their extremely poor customer service. Employees Are Super Rude (except Vivian) and they never call back. I was having a lot of difficulties making an appointment. They wanted to verify my insurance first before allowing me to make an appointment. That is fine with me but it took them more than 4 days and lost both of my faxes. I called to confirm each time, they confirm that they have received my fax and printed it so Ms. Wendy could perform the insurance verification with Blue Shield of Cali. There is absolutely no sense of responsibility among the employees. How could a business be conducted this way? This is totally beyond belief. Essentially, the employees are given / assumed to have the power to turn down customers as they see fit. I faxed in my insurance ID card on Monday, called in to confirm they have it. Were told to wait for a call back after they confirm my insurance with the insurance company. No news on Tuesday. So, I called back on Wednesday. They said they never received my fax and ask me to re-fax. For the 2nd time, I fax in, call to confirm they have received my fax and this time, a young lady, by the name of Vivian promised Ms. Wendy will verify my insurance immediately and call me back on the same day. Guess what, as expected no one calls back. I called on Thursday and Wendy was already gone for the day. On Friday, I called and spoken with a super rude employee by the name of Cassandra / Christatina (not completely sure of her name but she is an older lady at the front desk) and she asked me to call back on next Monday. Well, if you are having problem with your heart and really need to be seen by Dr. Yee, your heart may not survive this extra challenging issues given by the employees. I'm a new patient, I waited 50 minutes, no one bothered to take my insurance information, etc. etc. until I got up and asked the person at the window. They told me they see all the old patients first and new patients are tended to when they can. uuuuhhhh.Then I was told they didn't accept atm/credit cards to walk to the bank's atm...."you go to bank ATM then come back". Then I was taken to a make shift storage room to get my EKG done. Then to the exam room. As I'm in the exam room with the doctor another patient barges in the room to have the doctor change or revise her prescription. The doctor interrupts my consultation for about 10 minutes to tend to the patient who barged in the room. Then I'm escorted to the front desk to make an appt for an ultrasound and a followup appt, another 20 minutes. There was no paper in the copy machine to make a copy of my lab, MRI, EKG results. My documents were taken by someone else to the back area, after another 20 minutes the gentleman comes back to say the machine wasn't working. All in all about 3 hours had transpired. Very very very bad customer service. The staff works in a very crowded little area, they don't seem to know what they are doing running around like headless chickens....My experience was just awful. read more

Somewhere between 2.5 and 3... As a med student myself, I'm pretty critical when it comes to waiting for doctors. 1. Be prepared for a wait, regardless of if you have an appointment or not. I had an 11.30 and didn't get placed into a room until 1.30, and that was after I walked to the front and asked for my copay back. The man before me had a 10AM appointment and wasn't seen until 1. I looked at their appointment sheet--patients are scheduled every 10 minutes! I was a new patient and lo and behold there was another patient scheduled 10 minutes after me. Really? 2. The office front desk staff can be kind, but also seem very disorganized. They don't have a central person to report to, and I got different answers about wait times etc. from each person. Wendy seemed to know what she was doing, and was very nice! 3. Dr. Yee may know his stuff, but he could have at least introduced himself to me when he walked into the room. Didn't introduce the intern that was shadowing him that day either. Otherwise he was helpful and informative. The wait times (consistently long--my brother has seen Dr. Yee and has waited similar times) will make me reconsider finding another in-network physician. read more

There are 3 female employees sitting at the front desk: Lora (a Lantina/white), Jennifer, and Christatina. Lora is responsible for scheduling appointment. J and C are Chinese and responsible for, I think, check-in, contacting insurance companies and other doctors etc. They (especially J and C) don't see eye to eye to each other. Based on my observation during my several visits, these individuals do not work together, they point fingers at each other, and even drag each others' feet, putting patients' interests in harm's way. I believe Dr. Yee is the owner and there are other doctors that work in the office. Dr. Yee really needs to re-evaluate his staff else, he'll lose all his customers. The office staff are so rude and ridiculous.... The phone line is either busy or no one pick up! If you are lucky to get through, they either ask you to go there in person( just to make an appointment, check if your reports are ready, etc...) or call back in the afternoon, cause morning is busy.
