I did receive what I needed, but the service from the parts department was quite unsatisfactory.

In December of 2024 we bought a new GMC Yukon. We came from out of town to look at the vehicle. The salesperson knew we were coming for at least 3 days. Upon arrival, the vehicle was very dirty, so there was no way we could tell any damage as we were told last minute that it did have 1800 miles already. The dealer said there is no discount for the milage. The salesperson was new, but wasn't sure about a lot of vehicle features. We were preapproved and have a credit rating of above 820. When we got to finance and wanted to put extra money down on a credit card, they said they couldn't do that. The finance lady then looked at us and said, "Some people charge the card then fight it and we lose money." It seemed really negative and directly meant for us, but she did say we could leave a deposit and they would hold it. We were pretty upset at her accusatory comment, so we left but came back 10 min later, since we did love the vehicle. As we left the check, the same finance person tried to talk the sales manager out of taking our check. We did end up buying the vehicle as it was the only diesel Yukon we could find (and apparently the dealer knew it). We completed the sale via phone call the next day since we were not going to deal with the same finance person again. The vehicle was delivered a few days later. The salesperson told us that all delivery drivers were "certified" in setting up the vehicle electronics. The driver that arrived said he had no idea how to help us set up the profiles. They also did not send a buyer's tag, so the vehicle had to sit in our driveway for 3 days while we waited for them to mail it. The vehicle had not been washed, and we should have refused delivery until it was washed because we did find scratches near the tailgate when it was cleaned. It also was delivered with only 1/2 tank of gas, windshield washer fluid and the DEF were almost empty. Although it's not expensive stuff, it just shows the lack of concern from the dealer. Additionally, the LoJack system was missing a piece of hardware that the dealer forgot to update, so they said we would have to drive the 3 hours (each way) back to them. We did drive 6 hours to return the vehicle, and you would have thought they would have offered an apology, lunch, gas money, or something, but NOPE. Later we could not figure out how to activate an option, called the salesperson and he didn't know so told us he was transferring us to service because they know everything about the vehicles. The service guy told us that he didn't know anything about GMC, he was a Dodge mechanic and had just been moved over because everyone had quit. The guy that delivered the vehicle also told us that this dealership has a very high turnover rate. It seems to me that this dealership doesn't have much money, they don't train their sales staff, and don't care about the customer once the sale is completed. We did send an email to the sales manager but never heard anything back. We love the vehicle; just wish we had bought it somewhere else. GMC vehicles are great, but do yourself a favor and buy somewhere else. I was shopping on line. I received price of MSRP plus. when I was critical of this deal, sales consultant Brock C. was argumentative and RUDE. AFTER researching the dealership, I discovered his DADDY is the general manager. (SPOILED CHILD). I would have not bought from them at the price that was quoted, however I would have considered them for future buy. After the experience with Brock, rest assured they will never sell me anything! read more

Took my car in for an alignment and they spent 3 hours on it and told me needed camber washers and bolts for rear replaced them took it back and they spent 5 hours on it and said still couldn't alignme then made another appointment and left it at 8:30 am and went to pick it up and it was not there and said could not aligine this is at 3;30 that evening the service manager could not give me an answer on nothing but lied to me all along no people skills and no mechanics with answers my car left in worse shape than when I took it in Willnever use again or recommend they are liars and can not diagnose issues or problems read more

My truck has a recall for an airbag on the passenger side, Took it to Wiesner and they failed to let me know when my appointment was. So I called Henson. Just as bad, said they would order the part and then call me back for an appointment, that was 3 weeks ago, still have not heard anything. Guess I will try a dealership in Houston. read more

Here is my review - I have yet to hear back from anyone other than Sales people wanting me to buy a vehicle from them - Never going to happen. Gentlemen: On June 12th, I had my 2014 Ford F150 serviced at your dealership with an oil change and tire rotation. On June 17th while driving home, I heard this loud dragging noise coming from underneath my truck.  I pulled over on my road and discovered the shield that covers the oil filter/undercarriage had come loose and I had been dragging it. On June 18th, I came back to your dealership with the shield in hand and explained what had happened.  I was advised that the technician said he most likely did not secure the clips properly, therefore causing the shield to come loose.  My vehicle was taken back and to service and when it was completed, I was informed they had fixed it. This past Saturday, Sept 11th, I decided to have my oil changed at a facility in Huntsville.  The technician advised me that the only way he could get to the oil filter was by removing the shield which was ZIP-TIED and that one of the brackets was bent.  Needless to say, I was not happy with this information.  Henson Chevrolet's service department zip-tied my shield back on the undercarriage instead of properly fixing it with the factory clips.  This is totally unacceptable. When my truck was brought in for service the shield was properly secured with the factory clips.  I want my vehicle returned to the same condition. Please advise how your dealership intends to handle this matter. read more

Had an appointment back in 11/2019 for an Oil Change and getting a new set of tires also! Got there about 15 minutes early. The Service Mgr, was out to lunch, returning in 10 min. For some good reason (I suppose?) they only had (1) person for their Service Dept. The female was having boyfriend issues with one of the mechanics. After 45 + min, waiting for our appointment, seemed like those were longest 10 minute wait. On Service Mgr from lunch! We didn't mind waiting, but the unprofessional female was ridiculous. I asked do you have the ph# to the person we're waiting for? She said, yes, I'll call him. She was actually having a personal conversation with that Service Mgr, about the boyfriend mechanic. As I got up so she could see us waiting right in front, she responded with, he'll be here in 10 min. Gave him her food order and repeated, he'll be here in 10 minutes. Unprofessional group of crossed inbreeds. I walked over to the sales floor, asked if I could speak to management? The male's response was, do you have an appointment? Yes, we did 45 minutes ago and we're still waiting to talk to someone. Said, he's in the Break Room eating his lunch! We started to walk out and the female started to laugh. The 2 males, ran out asking us to wait. Obviously, they weren't reliable, nor trust worthy. read more

While on vacation, my elderly mother's car broke down mid-afternoon. She called me in panic. Since I was several hundred miles away I logged onto the internet to locate the nearest Chevrolet dealer. Thankfully, Henson was only 2.5 miles away. I contacted them and spoke to Chelsie in service. She apparently has dealt with situations like this on a regular basis as she took over with such ease. She arranged for a tow truck and for someone to pick up my mother. She also provided us with repair feedback on a regular basis. She advised my mother to make arrangements to stay in the area for the night as the repair would not be finished before closing. She suggested local hotels and places to eat in addition to loaning my mother a car for the night. She explained that in the morning she was going to be in a meeting and that Linda would be in touch with us. Overall, if your car is going to break down, Madisonville is the place to do it and Henson is the place to go! Chelsie was excellent every step of the way. She was extremely professional and easy to work with. Linda and the service tech also deserve credit as they all did a super job in getting my mother on the road the next day. Thank you! read more

I don't even know where to begin, this is by far the worst experience I've ever had at not only a dealership but ANY place of business. Liars and scammers to say the least. I went in for an oil change and a few other routine fixes. They insisted on fixing my radiator despite the fact I asked them not to do it that day. Things quickly got even more uncomfortable when they threatened me saying "I'm from Texas" as a failed attempt at an intimidation tactic. I asked for the keys the manager refused to do anything until they got the okay to put the radiator in. They proceeded to park another truck behind mine to prevent me from leaving. The bald manager seemed to be suffering from some sort of short man syndrome, he seemed to get off on ripping people off. I felt bad for the old couple he was smooth talking into what I'm sure was unnecessary parts. I was getting a Denali Dually worked on at this point and the manager offered my $20,000 for it and tried to get me into a Ford Focus. I've never witnessed a more clear demonstration of incompetence. This place has me wait 5 hours and couldn't even complete an oil change. They marked up prices because they knew we were out of town passing through. Fast forward to the next day where what was a tiny leak was now spraying fluid as if someone actually caused the radiator to break. They wanted to charge me around $4,000 for everything which was about double of what I would have paid anywhere else. Really in sticky situation and got NO help from service department at all. Traveling with a forty foot trailer, just wanted the codes checked out. I inquired online this morning about purchasing a vehicle. The price was what I was looking for when I found this car online, and knowing the finding these vehicles right now is challenging I jumped at the opportunity. I started out with one lady, Delia, I gave her my information and everything seemed to be running smoothly. She even told me since the car had just gotten to their lot they didn't have all the pictures but she would have someone send them to me. Never happened, then someone else called me about this car, Jose, he doesn't listen for anything. We told him as long as the numbers were where we needed them to be we would be there at 5:30 this evening. He 1st tells us the deal can't happen b/c of an issue with our trade... there is/was no issue with our trade. He then sends my husband the picture of the numbers, we both notice that the price of the car I was looking to purchase jumped 5k in price. When questioned we were told it's b/c that car was selling for 5k over. Which of course put me out of the price range I was willing to pay. We told him no deal, and they weren't even willing to budge. Again I get that right now those cars are hard to find, but 5k over MSRP?? Seriously? I'm already negative as soon as I drive it off the lot, I don't need another 5k on top of that. So needless say, they lost a sale today, and my search continues. But at least now I know I can get approved for the car I want so...I'll be taking my approval and my money elsewhere. I had a 4 p.m. appointment to look at a new 3500 HD truck. Got there at 4 p.m. exactly. At 4:20 I was still waiting to see a sales person. Katie greeted me when I got there and she was very nice, but after 20 minutes, I got up and left. There was literally no other customer in the building that I could see. Supposedly, they have three sales persons, but I didn't see one until I was walking out the door. By then, I certainly wasn't interested in buying a truck from them. read more

I just had to leave a review here because of the great service we had. We were driving through on our way to Austin pulling a cattle trailer. Our GMC 2500 DEF system threw us down to 55 mph with only a few miles before we were locked into 4 mph. It was full of DEF. We were over 100 miles from home. We managed to make it to their location. They worked us in, replaced the malfunctioned part under warranty and had us back on the road in under 2 hours. We greatly appreciate the service and kindness shown to us!! God Bless you! read more

I have taken my vehicle to your deanship on several occasions for State Inspections and repairs. On each occasion I was quoted repair cost that seemed to be excessively high for the problem I brought my car in for. I had Henson Buick do a State Inspection on my car and I was told it failed due to tire tread problems. My husband was a Vehicle state inspector for 8 years and re-inspected my car from top to bottom and there was absolutely no reason for it to fail. I took it to another inspection station and it passed with the same tires on it as when Henson Buick inspected it. I took my car in for an over heating problem my husband had already narrowed down to being either the thermostat or water pump and the radiator in bad need of being flushed. 5 hours after dropping it off I was told it was fixed and it was the thermostat that was bad. I got a 2nd call less than an hour later and was told it was not fixed that they needed to look into a little more because it over heated again. Something the RECEPTIONIST caught as she was parking it to be picked up after closing. Apparently your mechanics do not check their work, I received a call a few later saying that my engine needed to be torn completely down so THEY COULD DETERMINE WHAT WAS WRONG. That would cost me $1200.00 in labor not including the parts and labor after they found what was wrong. I would have to put up half the money now due to my car being over 10 years old. My husband has worked in auto shops most of his life and KNEW that did not sound right so we retrieved our car and took it to another mechanic who CORRECTLY deduced that the cause for the overheating was the water pump, a radiator that was so clogged it needed replacing and a new thermostat because the one that had been installed a day before had been installed INCORRECTLY. All of that cost me less than 1/4 of the $1200 you were going to charge me just to tear it down. So NO! I will never recommend a Henson Dealership for anything other than to stay clear of due to being UNTRUSTWORTHY. 3 SEPARATE visits and in all 3 visits I was ALMOST charged for repairs I DID NOT NEED. I wish there was a way to give zero stars, but as there is not...I was on the first leg of a very long journey back to MO when we hit really torrential rain. I made it from The Woodlands to just south of Madisonville when my 2001 Nissan Xterra started to choke. I started to get panicky because I had my mom, her dog, and all of her stuff in the car with me, so I pulled off in Madisonville in the hopes that a mechanic could take a look at it that day. The first one was totally booked, so I drove into town and hit the Henson Chevy Buick GMC dealership. I pulled in and told them exactly what it was doing and could they possibly take a look at it today? I was reassured over and over that yes, they could definitely take a look at it. Very long story short, I quickly surmised that they had no intention of looking at my car, but they had every intention of selling me a different one. I politely told them (over and over) that I had no intention of buying another car, and could they please look at mine? They began to berate my Xterra, saying that it was old, and high-mileage, and that was a bad year for the Xterrra, and how much more money was I willing to dump into it, etc. At last I became irritated and I gathered up my soaking wet mom and her soaking wet dog and got back in my car. Turns out it was bad gas, and a simple can of Heet did the trick (and this advice came from a very nice person in the service department of Atkinson Toyota in Madisonville). We got all the way back to MO without another single choking incident from my car. Incidentally, last weekend that old, worn-out, high-mileage, "bad-year" Xterra pulled a conversion van that was hauling a pontoon up a very steep boat ramp. read more

i am a hard sale my daughter and i were looking at used cars we had been to the toyota dealer (salesman was rude) and a few other places i said lets go over to the chevy dealer see what they have they didn't have a lot of used cars one caught my eye it was nice and clean low miles i made offer salesman had to go see mgr. salesman came back following was the mgr. we talked and batted prices around. he couldn't sale the car for the price and she could not afford, but he made her a sweet deal on a new buick she is very happy. like i said i am a hard sale but james sold me, the whole crew was personable bent over backwards to work on getting her in a vehicle. james and his crew has only been at henson a few months. he is down to earth don't get me wrong he has the bs but it's fun bs. i feel they will make a good small town car lot thanks too the whole crew. janet and jo ann read more
