The Dirty Bird with yellow rice.

Long live The Henson! Memories of the dive bar of old flooded in before I walked through the door, a notion quickly dismissed as a found a seat. They've done a terrific job doing the joint up - the fit out, menu and service were all outstanding, no pretension here. The staff are really what makes this place sing, all too happy to help which is a marvel these days. Those with kids will also get a kick out of the games room to keep the wee ones thoroughly entertained. The Kumera fries and Dirty Bird are bonafide hits, though the Churro Chips were a bit of a miss - a little too crispy and the servings are incredibly generous, so look to share the dishes. Looking forward to returning for another chilled out Saturday night!

Underwhelming lunch at the Henson on a Sunday. You will probably have to wait about an hr for food but at least they tell you when you order. The food was average, nothing extraordinary. My friend had tacos. She didn't like it. There is something for everyone at this place but if you don't want to wait for ages for food, then I suggest you go elsewhere.

How good is this !!! ..... I'm stuffed just like the Pig I had !!

Buttermilk chicken wings were delish. The girl from Buffalo approves. Just would skip the green sauce next time. Needs something sweet/sour/spicy

This is a place where you can really connect with your fear as you make your way up and up and up and up a ladder still you're standing on the precipice, and yes, even though you're fully safe, with a harness wrapped tightly around you and a trampoline net below, plus a staff member holding you by a rope - the idea of throwing yourself off a ledge can be both exhilarating or scary. I think this is a wonderful place to challenge yourself and to explore whether you can take yourself to new heights.

While it looks scary, and the first climb up the trapeze ladder is pretty intimidating, mastering…read morethe flying trapeze is a whole lot of fun and achievable for just about anyone. The Sydney Trapeze School is in a warehouse in an industrial estate - finding it is actually a far greater challenge than the trapeze itself! (Hint: the address is correct. Once you've found the corner site, head round the back of the first warehouse where you'll see a rock climbing place, park at the far end in the carpark along the railway line and walk round the end of the next warehouse - you'll find it, but allow plenty of time on your first visit!) Two hour open sessions on the trapeze are available throughout the day, each taking up to 12 students (book a less popular one for more flying!). Book out the whole session for a birthday party or group event. The Centre is very safety conscious; each flyer is harnessed and attached by rope to a (human) anchor on the floor, and if you do let go you'll only ever drop as far as the large safety net below you. Avid trapeze students can also learn other circus skills at the Centre, and an alternative to one-off sessions is booking in for term lessons to perfect your tricks. Pay attention to the cool-down the instructors lead at the end of each session: the trapeze is great exercise but uses all sorts of muscles you may never know you had.

I was expecting a small museum that would take 30 minutes max to go through. Thankfully I was so wrong. Before even opening the door of the museum I was greeted by one of the docents who was lovely throughout the tour. The entire tour lasted about 70 minutes and was fascinating. She explained the origins of the hospital and detailed history of the nursing staff who truly started the practice of nursing, as directed and sent by Florence Nightingale. While I was vaguely aware of the Nightingale connection I was surprised to find so many items that were either owned by Nightingale or given to the nurses from Florence Nightingale. With all the objects of the museum donated I think they have a truly remarkable collection, including old medical objects, photos of nursing staff, training uniforms, chemist set, to go bag of pharmaceuticals (for visiting rural areas), and medals received for service in the Crimea War. In general, I think it helps to have a medical background in order to understand how great this collection is and to be able to easily compare the collection to current medical practice. That being said, the docents ask prior to the tour if you have any medical knowledge. The only area of the museum that I didn't enjoy was part of the new wing and was two rooms of medical specimens, including the preserved fetus from an abortion. There were many different cancers (breast, ovarian, colorectal) also on display. I think generally people should be warned prior to going into those rooms. $5 Admission per person, cash only Photos are ok, no flash Will be asked to leave larger items (camera bags, backpacks) in the office Very limited hours! Lots of…read morethem with Australian flags, flags of the State of NSW, Aboriginal flags, Rainbow flags and banner poles advertising the latest festivals or theatre attractions on currently. This day I was walking past here and notice the base of this flag pole. It looked different from the usual flag pole, with and an ornamental base. Also a number of plaques were on it. It must be special and then I looked up and saw the Union Jack flying from atop the flag pole. I was surprised! After reading the information on the plaques, this flag pole and flying Union Jack flag was erected and unveiled on Australia Day 1988 to commemorate the bicentenary of the founding of the colony of New South Wales. After much historical research, this is the actual site where Captain Arthur Phillip RN and his men first saluted the Union Jack flag on 26th January 1788, and marking the foundation of Australia's birthplace. The Union Jack flag is the most common name for the flag of the United Kingdom. The Union Jack has been in existence since 1606, when England and Scotland merged. In 1606, the first Union Jack flag was created by merging the English flag (the red cross of Saint George) with the Scottish flag (the diagonal white cross of Saint Andrew on a blue background). This was the flag used in the ceremony in 1788. A replica of that flag is featured on this flag pole. If history and the significance of the First Fleet's arrival in Sydney are your thing - then this site is a must visit!

We went for the Jazz but started out in the 2nd floor for some finger foods and drinks. What a hoot!! The menu has a good variety of choices and we had the 4 cheese pizza and chips. Both soooooo good! The volume was not so noisy so we could actually talk and hear each other. Then the first band came in and, I'm sorry to say I did not catch their name because they were incredible! Their vocalist has quite a versatile range and adorbs. The guitarists and drummer were da best!!! We sat there longer than planned because song after song was wonderful! And, make sure you check out the ceilings!! Purty interesting to say the least. (If you are more a prudish type, I suggest not looking up. No judgement!) But, eventually we did go to the jazz venue.... Jazz. Hot Jazz! Mellow, delicious and...what can I say? This band was soooo laid back....and talented! Lots of great tunes from the '50's that were well done. Oh and.....definitely (!!!) check out the ceilings in here, too. I can not imagine what this building housed before Lazy Bones, but....just check it out! Parking on a Friday night...not too much in the main drag but we found side streets had plenty of free parking available. One more thing i noticed is the variety of age. Top floor was mostly 20's and up though there was a few more mature people, too. Jazz venue I'd say 30's and older. Yeah...we were the oldies but goodies at both places!! Lol.
