I had an estimate done Oct 12 for a new roof. I requested to pay cash, but was talked into 12 months 0% interest. I entered some information on an ipad and was told to expect an email with additional forms to fill out. 3 weeks later, Lynn from Herbert's called asking if I had filled out the forms. I told her I didn't get an email. She said when I do, fill them out and they will schedule a date. Week later Lynn called again asking if I got an email. I did not. She then gave me the phone number of the finance company they work with and she also gave me their business ID no? Not sure what that was. The finance company said they could NOT talk to me directly, only with Herbert's. He put us on a 3-way call, (I think I was not supposed to hear that conversation). "I have XXXX on the line and she is hot (angry). Said she offered cash but . . . ." Total disrespect from the finance company dude. I should have looked for a new roofer right there. But it was the guy from the finance company who was rude. Turns out Herbert's never sent them my information, so I was never going to be sent an email. Anyhow, Lynn then gave me another number to call. At that point, I called the office the next morning and said I wanted a strictly cash transaction. If they didn't want to do it that way, I would find another roofer. Oh . . . they wanted to do it but my down payment wasn't big enough for a cash transaction (stated matter of factly). . . . . . I then had to ask her for the additional amount to be paid. I was put on hold and then WAIT FOR IT. . . Lynn came on the phone apologizing. She was sorry things were not working out, but once they received my check for the additional down payment, they would order materials and schedule a date. Two weeks later, I had to call them back. I was placed on hold . . . WAIT FOR IT. . . .Lynn came on the phone apologizing again. They had my check but the scheduler was on vacation and no one else was aware I had to be scheduled. I should expect a phone call the next day (Friday) to schedule a date. How do you think that turned out? That's right . . . no phone call. I believe they called the following Tuesday. Roof job scheduled for Dec 12. The guys were great, there on time, it only took 5-6 hours. No complaints with the actual job. I really didn't have any complaints about the cost either. Job site manager said the dumpster would be removed and I would get an invoice for the remaining payment. 5 days later, the dumpster was still in my driveway, I called the dumpster company to have it removed. Shortly thereafter, received a phonecall from Herbert's WAIT FOR IT . . . apologizing that the dumpster hadn't been picked up. Then received a phone call from Lynn (in an irritated tone) asking for the final payment. Honestly if I had to do it again, I'd go with another roofer. This was the worst experience I've had in a while. Definitely steer clear of Lynn. read more

Refused to do chimney flashing repair unless I got the whole roof replaced. $18k+ and 2 years later: The flashing still leaks. They tore my gutters off after saying they wouldn't. Called their service line mid-job and was told they (conveniently for them) stopped providing gutter services 4 months prior. The gutters were put back up, but now they leak all over and a facia board is sagging. Putting new shingles on went fine- the only part of the job that went "okay." That's until one of the roofers put a foot through my cieling. At that point, they tried to blame water damage further down the cieling and refused to repair it. Gaps were left all over that allowed bees and squirrels into the home. The young project manager, who I've been told is no longer employed there, refused to discuss items that were left out of my quote, like a boot around the electrical hook up- something that needs to be put on according to code and should not have been missed. He called the next-higher-up manager. When he arrived, the attitude he threw at both me and my parents nearly instigated a fight. Between the lies, the poor quality of installation, the employee turnover, and the lack of accountability, no one should use this company. read more

Herbert Roofing charges approximately 30% more than other roofing companies. They advertise that your roof is only as good as the company that put it on and talk about honesty & integrity in their ads. We accepted a bid from Herbert in August of 2025 because of their quality reputation. Unfortunately the crew that installed our roof was subcontracted to a company that Herbert contracted to install our roof. To the best of our knowledge only one actual Herbert employee actually was ever on our roof. We were never told that the job would be subcontracted and to this day they have yet to disclose this. When you pay a premium price you expect a premium product. That's certainly not what we received. Our roof ended up having leaks around skylights. Over a two month period had to bother Herbert to get them to come back 5-6 times. They blamed the leaks on the sky lights, there were no issues with leaks prior to the roof being replaced. I sealed the skylights in plastic and the roof still leaked at a tremendous rate. When they finally pulled shingles around the skylights it was found that no weather shield had been installed. While they finally fixed that issue, I wonder what else the sub-contracted roofing crew hired by the contracted company missed. Remember, your roof is only as good as the company that put it on. Herbert Roofing was contracted to install our roof and they subcontracted the job to an entity that had (we have been told) never provided roof installation services to them and also the crew that was subcontracted to install the roof. We were the ginny-pig and they never disclosed this to us. Because of other issues I have reached out to Herbert Roofing twice in the last week sending messages thru their website. No response. While the quality of the majority of the installation appears to be good, there are issues and Herbert Roofing does not seem very motivated to even respond. Because of hail damage in our neighborhood this spring, there have been multiple roofing companies installing roofs. The neighbors all seem very happy with the services of these other roofing companies at approximately a 30% less fee. read more

Price was fair. They did not adequately inform us of the necessity to replace our skylights. We had never previously had any issues with our existing skylight. They leaked 2 weeks after new roof was installed. We wanted to hire Herbert to replace skylights, but after Herbert was paid, they made no effort to address our problem. We made multiple attempts to contact them, had promises of a return phone call from salesman, but nothing happened.. Herbert's quality of work is questionable. We had to hire our own contractor to replace skylights and repair roof damage due to leaking and possible poor workmanship of Herbert. read more

Had some kid named Jonah come to house. We told him we think the roof is over 15 years old and we wanted to get an assessment since our insurance would not cover it. Then he asks us if we had lost our insurance?? Is this a valid point of discussion???? Then he said he would not be giving an assessment. Herbert Roofing DID NOT pay out the $250.00 referral. I would not have called Herbert if it was not for the referral. They received my business, because of the referral. I asked multiple times; the Sales Rep, Install Supervisor, Customer Service and even spoke with Rich Stark. Followed up with a couple emails and still Herbert DID NOT follow through on their company referral program. Poor company ethics and values. In addition, I had to have DISH service come out and re-align due to the roofing material hitting the DISH. The patio screen was torn due to falling roof material. I will never give a referral to Herbert. read more

Herbert Roofing saved my bacon. My roof started leaking at the worst possible time. I mad moved out of state believing my house was sold. This company was the only 1 to show up for an estimate. Living on the west coast, these guys understood my situation & were helpful in every regard. Working with them was easy, they communicate well. Mason & his team did a great. I had the BEST experience with Herbert Roofing, though I didn't have my roof done ( which I thought it would ) Bob who came out & checked the attic and roof for replacement was VERY HONEST & said the roof was fine, maybe another 5 yrs it could be done, but I'm grateful for the honesty that no repairs had to be done! Last year a roofer told me it would probably cost $8,000 for repairs! I'm glad I went with A REAL PROFESSIONAL CONTRACTOR on this! Herbert Roofing was honest! The crew arrived as scheduled by the office, and had a 30 square job done in a day and a half. The crew leader had plenty of pictures of the condition of the sheathing, and installation of ice guard, underlayment, etc. Clean-up was phenomenal and communication with the estimator, scheduler, and foreman was very good. read more

Hired these guys to fix my roof once. Took like five hours to replace two missing shingles. Charged like 150 for the job. Asked why he couldn't replace the gable shingles. Said my roof pitch was too steep and he was afraid of falling off. Then the boss guy came out in his fancy car wanting to sell me an entire roof job. Watch out for these sneaky petes. They might advertise on the radio and tv but it doesn't mean that they do good. read more

Company quoted my dad's roof in May saying they would be out to start the project July 8/9. Upon following up after the July date had passed, I was told this job had "slipped through the cracks" and that it would be another six weeks before it could be commenced. After THREE calls to the office leaving messages with the office gal indicating I would like to speak to someone and being told that someone would return my call, I finally called another company as I never heard from anyone at Herbert. Not a big job, but the $1700 quoted must not have been enough for even a follow-up call. Very disappointed in this company and won't recommend them..but wil tell others about my experience. Waited 3 months to get my small job completed. I know they had larger roof jobs and I was patient, but finally I had to call to see when they were coming. I felt like my project was pushed aside constantly and was squeezed in. Also, they called and said they would be there at 8am and didn't arrive until 4pm. read more
