For example, the fitness room had a water dispenser but it was empty, and there were no lights in the room so I could not workout after 5pm. Also, we had a full kitchen, but there were no plates or silverware. These seem like all easy fixes that should be included in such a high end hotel. My main problem was the way in which a serious bike accident was handled by the front desk team. My family and I stayed for one night and rented bikes from the hotel the next morning. As I was climbing a gravel road, the tire spun out and I landed on my feet, but my front leg hit a wire protruding from the front tire. This wire should have been covered by a plastic cap. The wire hit my shin and tore my leg up which resulted in an emergency room visit and 6 stiches. My children rode 3 bikes back to the hotel while my husband drove me to the ER. The 4th bike was hidden away from the street and the hotel was notified of the exact location of the bike and the accident that was the result of their neglegance. Later that day, the hotel receptionist, Inês Pinheiro, indicated that the bike was not located. I requested that they look again, sending exact GPS coordinates from the picture taken and requested a video call on WhatsApp so we could provide assistance locating the bike. Instead, the next day, they said the bike was still not found and I needed to call with a credit card to pay for the bike. Two days later, I had my Portuguese friend call only to find out that the bike manufacturer found the bike using GPS, but the hotel never notified me. We did everything to help the hotel locate the bike, while the hotel staff took zero responsibility for their neglegance. The staff seemed young and inexperienced. I hope the hotel management will find this feedback useful and address training issues with their staff.

PROS: - Hotel is nice and modern. - Friendly staff that speaks English. - Location is right on the beach. You can hear the waves from the room. Totally worth it to upgrade to a sea view room. - Hotel gives you fresh towels to use at the beach or for the pool. - Has both wet and dry saunas (a bit small though, can only fit 2-4 people). - Breakfast has cinnamon sticks with sugar on the tables, so you can put them in your coffee and/or tea. - Large variety of hot and cold foods at breakfast. Plenty of fresh fruit. - Free wi-fi in the room. CONS: - Swimming pool is not so nice. You cannot see the ocean from the pool. - Jacuzzi temperature is cold. Not heated enough in early June to use comfortably. - Shower only has a half-wall, so water gets all over the floor when you shower.

We booked directly..) as it is a cooler time of year we had looked forward to using the pool which is indoor, but settled for the hot tub. This was a "luke warm tub" at best, but we did enjoy the view of the sea immensely. The fan in the room sounded like you were on the uphill of a roller coaster but again, due to cooler weather we didn't have a problem.

The prices reflected it being a beach restaurant but the food met/exceeded our expectations and the service really sealed the deal with professional yet personable staff. We had such a great meal that we came back for dinner on our last night too! I had their lobster caesar salad (not a very Portugese choice but still) and it was great with good portions, quality cheese, and plated beautifully. The couvert was also a great selection (though beware it comes with a small cost). We enjoyed a drink from their bar which was pretty and this was a great spot to watch a shoreside sunset.
