Me and my child were excited to take a trip to the book store on a beautiful sunny afternoon. when we walked into the store we headed straight to the back to purchase a book to start her journey as a reader. I was approached by another mother also trying to do the same for her children. naturally the kids were filling each other out and walking around the store as I waited to make my purchase. my daughter had her scooter parked inside the front of the store with her Helmet attached. The person who was ringing me up (which I believe to be the owner) Made the most disgusting comment after asking my child directly if the scooter & helmet belonged to her & she replied yes. He told my child she should probably put on the helmet while in the store. I Immediately left and did not complete the purchase. I felt so embarrassed & walked out. I couldn't even phantom the words to say. Because I could not believe someone would talk to a child in that manner. I eventually called the store and told them what happened and received an apology from another employee. read more

There's nothing like walking into a bookstore and getting lost in the aisles. The selection of books is truly unmatched from children's, romance, cooking and everything in between. A patron for many years this store has serviced union for 30 years. The owners are helpful and should you need to catch the newest author or best seller he is happy to accommodate. Not to mention you pay face value so I'm happy there's no mark up no matter how popular. Skip the brick and mortar and shop small here's a store will not disappoint readers of all ages. read more

Nicely curated bookstore. The store has a vintage feel. The owner is extremely attentive and kind. My husband and I enjoyed chatting with him. We picked up a few books and a puzzle. I was happy to see a Latino section, African American section and an extensive kids section. He has a suggested reading list on the wall. I encourage you to visit. It's important to support independent bookstores. read more

I just love this little book store in the middle of town. The owner is very helpful and best of all kid friendly. They have a nice selection of books. It was a day for exploring bookstores in New Jersey and this one was a pleasure to visit. A great Summer reading section, some used books (always a plus) and a nice airy space that lends to leisurely browsing. Some of the stock is a little worn, but that adds to this store's charm. The owner - who was chatty and friendly - even ordered a Rand McNally NJ road map - to be mailed to me - after we both agreed there aren't enough printed road maps around anymore! He also recommended a place for coffee nearby. This is why we need to keep supporting local independent bookstores! read more

During the lockdown I was looking at buying books from Amazon. But instead I found this great little shop. I called in my order and the owner had to order two books that he didn't have in store. I called in the order on a Wednesday and he had everything by that Saturday! Went to pick everything up and ended up talking to the owner for awhile. I love this book store and the owner. It is a great place, and in the world of big box stores, it is great to have a mom & pop shop where you can get quality service from someone who cares. The owner has always gone out of his way to make sure I was happy with my purchases and to special order books if he didn't have the book I wanted. His pictures with Santa are a lot of fun! I was all set to buy some books at this store, when I noticed they have ARCs (Advanced Reader Copies) on sale in their used section. Because these are given out free to reviewers at a loss to the publisher, and are not finalized copies of the books, it is unethical to sell them. I had to walk out without my purchases and even though I would way rather buy from a small business than a chain, I won't be back. read more

This is a real bookstore, not a big box impersonal business. The owner is one of the kindest people! We are so fortunate to have a successful small business in our town and we are proud of it! The owner stocks whatever the neighborhood is interested in, (he knows his customers!)-- ie: children's books based on popularity; award winners and school recommendations, best sellers and some special interest books. He may not have a book readily available because of it's special interest reader. As a small business he cannot stock everything in the world, but he can order it for you, even rare books if they are available! On the holidays we all bring our kids for pics with Santa and the Easter Bunny, for 5 bucks and 1/10 the line in the Mall, this is the place to go. Support small businesses in your town. Seemed like a great bookstore, but it was the holidays and obviously plenty of children which is fine, however me and my partner couldn't take the noise and chaos so we put our stuff down that we were looking at down and left. this woman then chases me out next door and demands i tell her where all the books are, i was baffled as i was seemingly accused of stealing. then demands i tell her why i didn't buy anything and i simply and nicely said 'i feel that $2.00 a vhs is too high' and plus the crowds were getting to us so we figured we'd come back another time, but not now! this woman was horrendous and i was in shock as to what was even happening. there's no way i'd ever step foot there ever again being treated like that, it was insane. read more

This store has an interesting selection of books. However despite the stage and childrens books they are testy about children. When we were there the cashier told my daughter not to touch the puppets for sale. Then when she opened a book he told her to put it down because " he can't sell it if it's messed up" . My daughter is 7 and not destructive at all. His manner hurt her feelings. I would not shop there again. read more
