Going uphill there is a good sized playground, tennis courts, and basketball courts (admittedly often overgrown). From the playground to the courts the park road is blocked to vehicle traffic. On the upper area is an outdoor community pool, a parking lot, and an outdoor gym set up. Then there's also blocked off lower and upper roads encircling a hill and a small field, which look so quaint I always picture Bilbo Baggins living there. The views of the city the pool area and the top field are magnificent, and benches invite you to stay for a while to enjoy it (or maybe catch your breath from walking there). Schiller has two access points to park by car (Farmer St- lower, Oak St- upper) and plenty of access by foot. I've spent many many visits exploring the different paths of Schiller. It's a park which feels very much at the center of it's community, a touch rough on some edges, but very beautiful.

We wanted to go down by the play equipment, but the road is closed off the vehicles. We were able to leave the park and drive around the corner and park in a lower parking lot which is near the baseball diamond. There was one lone table near a building called the recreation center, and it was in a little gazebo. Kids enjoyed the play equipment. It must have been installed or upgraded very recently as it was very new 8/2015. There are two areas one for smaller kids 2-5 and one for larger kids 5-12. There is one small table in each of the kids areas which has a cover and provides shade during the hot summer months when kids are out playing.

There were several classes in progress and the machines looked up to date. It was mid day so not as busy as I would expect it will be early or after work. Everything appeared clean and well kept. The process didn't take too long and then the (very nice) lady at the desk, Tisha, showed me how to use the App for finding and booking classes and other information. No pictures, but I've already booked an Aqua class and will schedule an appointment with a fitness trainer to help me learn more about the machines and what classes would be good for me.

The community center is a great place to work out or bring the family for a day of fun. Everything they have to offer is awesome and a day pass for an individual or family is great price to do multiple activities. From their aquatic center with a competition pool, splash pool for kids, and hot tub and even a water slide to open skate with rentals included. Overall a great time and easy to come and go throughout the day. Grab a bite to eat in the village of Skaneateles or try the community centers new concession stand that's operated by a local favorite, at long last!

I decided to do this since I am a big fan of getting some daily workouts in and I'm so happy with this facility. Firstly, the staff is incredibly nice and welcoming. I really enjoyed a walking in everyday and being greeted with such warmth. Secondly the facilities are very clean, from the main lobby to all the workout areas and even the locker rooms. Finally, this branch has anything you might need: they are so well equipped! There are indoor tennis courts, they have an indoor field of turwhere people practice soccer and lacrosse, a variety of weight lifting equipment from dumbbells, weight machines, squat racks, bench presses, and also a variety of cardio machines (treadmills, elliptical, bikes, stairmaster)... I even saw a punching bag and some jump ropes around the weightlifting areas! Literally anything you could want, I'm sure you can find here, except maybe an indoor pool. I appreciated how respectful and considerate everyone who comes here was! Even the youngest members of the Y seemed very polite and mindful of themselves, something that always makes a gym experience better. I absolutely love coming here during my visit and will definitely take advantage of the student policies while I'm in school moving forward since it is a good way to access workout equipment while in town. Took advantage of this beautiful day to bike ride from Onondaga Lake Park around the lake over to…read morethe Amphitheater and back. Spent some time just relaxing in this beautiful park. The park has gorgeous lake views, biking and walking trails, bike rentals, picnic areas, pickleball courts and play areas for the kids. Always enjoy visiting this park. Check it out !!
