Red Ridge - Outside views

Visited red Ridge receptions for a friend's wedding. It was really beautiful. I liked their outdoor…read moreservice area. It has a great backdrop. We attended a wedding in August and it was pretty hot outside because as a guest, you have to stay seated for a bit for the whole ceremony, but that is a seasonal thing. There was an outdoor patio appetizer set up area to mingle for a little bit, and then we moved indoors to be seated for dinner and the reception I thought the venue was perfect. The only big tip that I would have liked to have received before attending was to try to come with an SUV or four-wheel-drive because the incline to get up to the location is pretty steep!! It was a little scary and I wouldn't have liked to have been the one driving.

My husband and I had our wedding here just a few weeks ago. Everything was amazing. Chris and…read moreBethany were so responsive and helpful with any/all questions. They even noticed I paid a vendor for something they supplied and was able to reimburse me some money, which was much appreciated! Anna, our day of coordinator provided by Red Ridge, was absolutely fantastic. She was handling things I wouldn't have even thought of. She was kind and team-bride all the way. She was absolutely incredible and I cannot say enough good things about her. Everyone in the wedding party noticed how attentive and helpful she was. The venue itself is in a stunning location. The photos from the evening are just amazing against the beautiful backdrop. Everything was just beautiful, especially because we picked the all-inclusive package which really helped cut down on the extra things I needed to plan as a bride. All of their details were handled with easy to access and manage online forms. The ONLY reason I am not giving 5 stars is due to a very disappointing experience with the DJ provided by the venue. I am trying hard not to fault the venue for this, but it really was pretty heartbreaking for me as the bride. The DJ, a young man who had been with the company several years I was told, played the wrong song as I walked down the aisle. Instead of playing the instrumental version of one of me and my husband 's favorite songs, the DJ played our aisle exit song as I walked down the aisle. The song had words and was upbeat. Although a meaningful song to us as a couple, it was just not the bridal moment I had always dreamt about. It the moment, I just went with it because I didn't want to stop and go back, I just wan't sure what to do, but I really can't stop thinking about how that moment of walking down the aisle that I'e always dreamt of was taken from me by a DJ just not paying enough attention. To make matters just a bit worse, he then played that same song as we exited the ceremony space. I had a few guests mention to me how it was as "interesting choice in ceremony music" and I just had to explain that there had been a mistake. I felt really embarrassed and disappointed. In addition, even though I had hand selected the songs to play at the reception, the DJ somehow loaded up the wrong playlist and the first 4 or 5 songs weren;t ones I had picked. Oldies were played, which was fine I guess ... just not our kind of music. After alerting Anna to the fact that this was not our music the problem was rectified. After reaching out to Chris and Bethany about my frustration and sadness over this issue they were very apologetic and let me know that that DJ would no longer be working for their company. I feel a sense of relief for upcoming brides that will not have to feel the disappointment of having that one special moment ruined, but I also feel a sense of guilt for having that employee lose their position.

This is the perfect B&B if you're visiting the Ledbetter or surrounding areas (Round Top, Burton,…read moreGiddings). I was with two other gal pals and we were attending a holiday bash at our friends' family ranch three miles away; we didn't want to drive all the way back to Houston after drinking, so we booked our one-night stay at Night Bird Ranch. It's off the beaten path from the small town of Ledbetter, but that makes for a quiet and private retreat. We booked the Lonesome Dove and Hidalgo rooms; rooms were clean - recently renovated with plenty of towels, blankets, pillows, and a space heater for those extra chilly nights. We had two rooms with two twin beds - beds were firm. Bedding was comfortable. Soaps and shampoo/conditioner was provided, but it's the kids kind, so if you like your fancy products, pack your own. Kiki and her family live on the 70-acre property; she is a friendly host and we felt welcomed during our stay. Upon arrival, she gave us a tour and even let us assist with feeding the animals the morning we left. She also gave me a cash refund because they had a special discount rate for the night and honored that for me - without me even asking about it. Real hospitality! There's a dance hall/dining hall where Kiki provides wine, coffee, tea and snacks. Our stay included a hot breakfast, and it was fantastic! Fresh biscuits, eggs, sausage gravy, sausage links (and of course, cereal for the kiddies). Onsite there's a lake, acres of exploring, campfire station, and animals: three horses, 2 lambs, and a miniature donkey - and don't forget about Elvis the ranch dog! Love that Kiki and her family are animal lovers. Keep in mind though, outside dogs from guests are not allowed because of the many farm animals. My girlfriends and I fully enjoyed our stay and want to return with a group to have a little ranch life fun. I highly rec this for small groups, retreats, families (kids will love) and even those looking for a space to host an event, like a quaint country wedding or family gathering.

Sweetie and I only needed a night away from town and could not have had a better time! After…read morebooking our room, Kiki texted and offered directions and dining advice. Nice! The trip from Austin to Ledbetter was quick, so we called Kiki and got specific directions to our room and even found out about their restaurant, Teague's Tavern in Round Top. After dinner we sat on the porch and listened to the country sounds while Garth sat at our feet. The room was fantastic. Just the right size for us, furnished simply but with care to the details. We left before breakfast, but heated up some of our leftovers from dinner, in the dining hall, to eat on the road. We loved our stay at Night Bird Ranch and plan to come back again, to get away from it all.

Words can't describe our experience with this ranch!!!…read more Darrell was fantastic to help me coordinate this surprise ride for my sisters birthday and my nephews to go for the first time. Our ride was stunning across the fields and trails on the ranch. And they even picked up my dad in the 4-wheeler to feed the cows while we were horse riding so he felt he could be a part of the day (we had purchased feed for the cows ahead). The entire family enjoyed the ride itself, the guides helped us take photos. Next time we would consider staying in the cabins on the ranch. Thank you a million times, it was worth the further drive for the experience itself!!!

I came here for a wedding and stayed on the property. We were flying in and arrived late at night…read more(or should I say early in the morning...3am) and it was no problem getting in as there is a code on the locked gate. The driveway was dark, but the cabins were well lit and don't lock. We stayed in one of the 4 identical cabins. The accommodations were nice and had a loft upstairs with two twins. It is a steep ladder and great for kids, but not for adults. The decor was western and featured some taxidermy. This scared some of the little kids we knew at the wedding. The bathroom and main bedroom were a decent size and the kitchenette had a mini fridge and coffee machine, along with the living area with a small TV and chairs/small couch. The grounds were beautiful and was a true farm. The pool was great for the kids and the waterfall made it feel fancy. I loved the open greenery and the animals that roamed, along with the ponies and goats that you could get close to. There is a covered pavilion near the pool that was a hang out spot for our crew. The wedding itself was in the grass next to the reception venue, since it was too wet to have it down in the pasture. The reception venue was large and had high ceilings. The food was pretty good and the two outdoor firepit areas right outside became a place for guests to step out as well. Parking is in a grass lot so beware the shoes you where, especially if it has rained recently.
