Been living here in Beaver Falls for over 30 years and this place has never been of quality . It's a good place to go if you need a band-aid or you have been shot and its the closest hospital . I broke my arm at work and the ambulance took me there to there emergency room . They took me in and xrayed it . They then said yea its broken and good buy . This was a sever break of the ulna bone . I thought No "F" I'm a mechanic and I could have told you this . Before leaving I said is that it ? They replied " we don't do this here any more . Luckily at work they have a nurse who called me and she took the lead the next day scheduled me at a doctor to xray and cast it . I also know of a friend of my wife who was admitted and had heart bypass surgery here . They saved her life but they gave her severe staph infection of the sternum . Eventually having to remove it and her life was never the same . read more

My sister was admitted for dizziness & they made sure she was OK in cardiology where she stayed 3 days & the nurses there calmed us down with their caring & great communication. Then she went to psychiatric unit where all the sweet staff took such great care of her & took time letting us know how she was esp with us living out of town. read more

I have read the other reviews for Heritage Valley Beaver and am not sure where some of these people were. I just came home from my first admission to Heritage Valley Beaver and I must say I was very pleased. This is not my first hospital admission, i've been an inpatient at Allegheny General, UPMC Passavant, UPMC Passavant Cranberry, and Geisinger Medical Center. I know every hospital has bad reviews, but I am surprised by the lack of positive experience and reviews saying this. So count this as a positive review, I would have no hesitation if I needed admitted to a hospital going to Heritage Valley Beaver. Good doctors, nurses, and allied health staff. I've been around hospitals for most of my life because of an ill mother and now me, Heritage Valley Beaver is a good hospital. read more

Sometimes when you're sick (or lazy) you just want to go close to home, otherwise make the trip and go to Sewickley! This is for the ER. I went for medical reasons, but you don't even get to see the a Dr until they're discharging you. I had 5 people in my room at one time, and I had to repeat why I was there to every single one of them, even though they were all in the room and heard me. Maybe it's procedure, but it's annoying. I did get taken back quickly and bloodwork/xrays done quickly, but I had to wait a while for results. After 4-5 hours, got sent home with no solutions or diagnosis. This experience was weeks ago and I'm still not feeling better. I know they have to go by results of tests and what not, but I feel like they don't even listen to what you're telling them, they're more worried about looking at the common symptoms and just ruling things out rather than actually helping to see what's actually going on. read more

It was nice clean environment except the restroom but I can understand that a little. However. The wait wasn't long they treated us with kindness and respect. They treated us and let us go. This is a nice facility to go too for emergencies. If u like me I like to read reviews before I go to a new place. From my experience it's a go too. read more

My 1st emergency visit for atrial fibrillation and occluded arteries. I was treated immediately. Staff explained everything they were about to do. Doctors did too, answered all my questions and explained my prognosis. Reasonable response to call button. My only issue was their "system". So much hygiene protection for staff (3 size gloves, hand sanitizers, wet wipes everywhere) but patient hygiene nonexistant. Only if you ask to wash up they leave you a bag of soapy washcloths. I could have taken a shower but told they'd have to order a shower stool (they used shower stall to hold used laundry until pickup). I couldnt get a bar of soap or shampoo. I was there 49 hours before I got my 1st meal though I had no diet restrictions then. When NPO until after procedure, nobody told dietary. I had learned to call dietary myself. I said at least give me vitamins and minerals so my resistance doesn't run down (why so many leave hospitals with colds, flu, pneumonia). Never got any. When I asked aides about something I was always told "I don't know". After hearing that enough I said "I keep hearing this, That's not an answer" and they just walked off. Obviously no one bothered to follow up. I worked in many hospitals over 50 years, most at UPMCs. Though UPMC has "the latest medical equipment" I overheard administration tell the chief "you can't have staff, that's a recurring liability". We had quotas ever increasing but overtime was forbidden. I've seen lots of mistakes and medical negligence in those huge hospitals and they take no responsibility for it. I hope the smaller hospital groups don't make the same mistakes. So medically speaking I felt well cared for at Beaver Valley. I feel confident if I needed a hospital. I'd come back. If they could fix up their system of doing things I would rate them excellent. read more

I have gone to the beaver medical center 5 different times with the same injury and they have done nothing I'm still in pain I can't even pick up my daughter I got hit in the penis with a 2×4 it's not like it's a self inflicted injury I had to go there 4 times before they gave me antibiotics I couldn't get an appointment with a urologist until the 28th of January I just wanted them to help me stay comfortable this is a serious injury and I'm doing more damage to my body taking a bottle of aleve everyday I can't work and it's been almost a month I wouldn't recommend anyone goes there for anything there rude and don't care about anyone just a paycheck read more

Free parking. Extremely nice employees. I got lost a couple of times and both a nurse and janitor came up and asked if I needed help and then walked my to where I needed to be. The case worker was also very helpful in getting all the insurance details together. If issues get too complicated the downtown hospital has some better specialists but for normal issues I'd prefer these folks in Beaver! read more

Not helpful at all over the phone. Spoke to Sandi. I am looking for help for a friend and called to inquire about the facility, procedure, treatment process, anything to help me understand what a patient might experience there. The sleeping quarters, group size, personal belongings, therapist interaction, visitation......It was like pulling teeth!! I got very short abrupt answers, no understanding or compassion was evident to how hard it is to consider having a dear friend enter a psychiatric ward, and wanting to get an understanding as to what the treatment was like. read more

Hello I can't say enough bad things about this place this is by the absolute worst hospitals you could ever go if you dnt have insurance your a nobody and they will get to you when they feel like it and if you have insurance theg milk the heck out of you giving you every thing you don't need just racking up the bill because its a guarantee payment i have a family member who works here and she told us we shouldn't of came to this one for several different reasons. But the reason I'm righting this review is because of my girlfriend and the terrible care she is getting she has some blood infection along with something else pretty Sirius and when I first got here to be with my girlfriend I walk in the room to see she has blood on her arms and her blankes were covered in blood because they could not hit a vein for an iv for over 3 hours and she has had an iv many times before so she kept telling them were other hospitals have got it with no problem and they would not listen to her and her arms are so bad she can bairly move them from them just sticking her anywhere and everywhere. So I had to get snippy with them to finally come change her bedding then after a half a day they finally put her in a room and the ONLY TIME the nurse would come in is when shift change just to get her vital signs I she asked for more blankets and they didn't get any till the next morning. I didn't leav her side at all because she needed help with everything I had to help her move around and go to the bathroom we paged the front dext none stop and they kept telling us they will be bavk I when out to talk to are family to tell them how she is and we still haven't hurd anything at ALLL from the surgent on how it went what happend and what she has. I had to keep going to the front desk and tell them we need her surgent to finde out every thing i'd say probably 6 time over about a 10 or 12 period and we was just told what some of it is and the nurse had to leav and didn't explain one thing at all to her about it and its been several more hour's now and still nothing even though i keep calling them to come back and theh don't even answer us half the time anymore my girlfriend food trays have been sitting in her room all day and still are the staff is beyond the worst i have ever seen. And I live over an houre away and they would not let me stay in the room with my girlfriend that truly does need me there because they are not helping at all so we got real mad and they called security on my to escort me of the property then my girlfriend started to hyperventilating because she scared because of what she has and what she is going through and ahe needs my by her side we have been together for 12 years and I can't even stay with her speaking of hyperventilating when they was stabbing her everywhere for an iv she started hyperventilating so the all just held her down and kept stabbing her and finally got one in her crotch then stitched it to her without letting her no so I'm sleeping in my car for several night ao I can be in there first thing in the morning for her. But this is just an awful place to ever have to be in I no aome people may not be able to get to a different hospital but please take some of my advice and never come to this place if you can help it please. And there is a lot more I can say bad about this hospital butn i feel I said enough and didn't want it to sound overwhelming but its bad take my work. After this last episode of kicking me out I'm texting my girlfriend and she can here the nurses out there talking down about her and won't say nothing to her over this deal. I had a family member admitted here in the last couple months and I was disgusted by this place. Mostly because I noticed staff behaving poorly in a supposedly sterile environment. One in particular had tobacco chew in his mouth while working the floor. I wanted to rush my family member out of that place immediately. It seemed so disorganized. I personally would rather bleed out and travel to pittsburgh than to come here locally. read more

Heritage Valley in Cranberry is terrible. The nurse named Sarah is very rude and uncaring to say the least. The doctor is nice but the very poor nursing staff makes it bad for everybody. This doctors leave it up to this nurse to do everything and that is the problem. This nurse does nothing. She does not call patients back and when she does, (weeks later), she hangs up on them. When the nursing system is this poor, I do not care how good the doctor is. read more
