My visit to Hermesvilla was a great way to experience culture, history, while in the midst of a large green space (Lainzer Tiergarten). It was nice to see a more "modest" palace; the building is pretty but not overwhelmingly huge to visit.
The bedroom and bed is a highlight & there are also other interesting pictures and artifacts in the palace.
The courtyard and garden area behind & around the villa is also very pretty and worth seeing, even if you don't go inside.
Like most other Wien Museum locations, Hermesvilla is free to visit on the first Sunday of the month.
If you have limited time in Vienna, I wouldn't say Hermesvilla is a must-see for a tourist, but I definitely appreciated my visit -- especially in combination with a nice nature walk in Lainzer Tiergarten. read more
