This is a great public space with the amenities fitting of its name. If you have littles, then just…read moreknow it is an outstanding, safe play area that fosters inclusion and welcomes all. There are walking trails that go through the woods, an off-leash dog area, and multiple mixed-use sportsball/athletic fields. On hot days, the splash pad area is the place to be, making for a safe space for kids and families to cool off and enjoy the sun. The frisbee disc golf course is one of the real hooks to the park, nicely laid out and maintained, and providing differing levels of challenge. Public restrooms are all around, the playground and splash pad area have soft landing spots, and it is generally well lit and safe all through the park. There are even several canopy areas with tables, allowing for picnics or other gathering use and mostly just to get out of the Alabama sun. Get out and enjoy the greenspace, Mobile, it's a beautiful place.

There is a small gymnasium for gymnastics in the MAWSS water tower. Parking is decent, but I have never visited on game days. ALOT of people walking and running. Park is open from dawn to dusk like all other parks in Mobile. The playground is the best of all the parks in my opinion. It is fairly busy, but not so much that would make you visit elsewhere.

I really like this park, it is awesome. The only thing that sucked was whoever was at Doyle Park…read morethe day before had a birthday party, and had trashed the playground and picnic table area nearby. A city employee was cleaning the area by the time I left. The park and playground has an airplane theme, complete with signs that identify the type of planes taking off from the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley next door to the park. I saw three different planes take off in the short time I was there, it was awesome, there are benches where you can sit and watch the planes. This would be great for kids. The playground looks cool. THIS PARK HAS RESTROOMS THAT ARE OPEN. There is also a bike trail, I saw at least ten different couples using it. I walked some in the bike trail with my dog, the bike trail comes up onto Perimeter Ave, then veers off again by the Mobile Aeroplex. Two baseball diamonds, one for little league and a football field. These bleachers are in full sun, unlike most of the bleachers in Mobile Parks, so bring a hat, umbrella, and sunscreen if you are going to watch a game. It looks like the football field also doubles as a soccer field, there was a net up at the goal post. There is a fitness trail. Nice and quiet. I only saw the bicyclists and two different groups with dogs. FYI, I saw people with large dogs running free, but those dogs came nowhere near me with my leashed dog. Be aware that lots of people in Mobile bring dogs unleashed to parks, this is not the first time I saw this and I have visited nearly every park in Mobile. This park is off the beaten path, but if you need a store for anything, there is a Piggly Wiggly nearby on Dauphin Island Parkway and various little stores and gas stations all the way up to Government Street at least a few miles away. The did see a Hart's Fried Chicken on Dauphin Island Parkway at least a mile or two away. But overall, we loved this park, nearly all parks in Mobile ate wonderful.

So there was only one side that was usuable.I have seen people drive on the grass up to the shelterhouse that they are using .I didn't think that we were allowed to drive on the grass. We were at a shelterhouse on Sunday and after we had already been there for awhile a lady came over saying that she had reserved it for the time that we were already there. We would like it that if a shelterhouse is reserved that it would have a sign to tell people ahead of time.

The passes seamed pretty steep. You have to pay if you want to see your boy play. Coolers 0 stars - My biggest complaint is the complex would only let each team bring in two coolers. No other coolers were not allowed in. So, you can only buy drinks and food from the concession stand. We are in the Deep South and it is crucial for spectators to hydrate in July outside in the sun all day. A parent in our team got heat exhaustion. He had to miss a day of his boy playing to stay in bed to recuperate. That is just greedy on their part. They are wanting to make money over people being healthy. I will have to give different star ratings for different parts of the facility. Restrooms 5 stars - There is an attendant that cleans and refills every hour. An added bonus is they are air conditioned. Fields 3 stars - the fields are in good condition, there's some holes in the fences near the dugout on field 3 that the ball kept getting out of the field. Also, they used portable mounds. Parking lot 1 star - Our team brought a trailer with us for all the boy's equipment. The Orange Beach facility has a trailer parked over near the bathrooms at the soccer field. So, our team parked their trailer their as well. We were asked to move ours, but they are allowed to park theirs there? Makes no sense!

Gnat City is an understatement AND the bathrooms were either out of tissue or toilets overflowing! Local refs did the typical local calling at both parks. Look elsewhere for a complex!
