To Whom It May Concern,…read more I am writing to formally complain about the appalling experience my family and I endured while renting a vehicle from Avis in Cutler Bay, Florida. We rented a Wagoneer for a family vacation to Port St. Joe, Florida. Our travel party included four children, my elderly mother, and three dogs. We trusted Avis to provide a safe, reliable vehicle for this trip. Unfortunately, that trust was completely misplaced. Shortly after beginning our journey, the vehicle experienced a low tire pressure warning. We attempted to resolve the issue ourselves by adding air to the tire, but the problem persisted. Concerned about the safety of everyone in the vehicle, we contacted Avis for assistance. Avis arranged for a tow truck, which took possession of the vehicle and left us stranded. We were given a case number and instructed to travel to another Avis location approximately one hour away to obtain a replacement vehicle. Upon arriving at that location, we were shocked to discover that the employees had no knowledge of our situation. They did not recognize the case number we had been given and informed us that Avis locations apparently cannot communicate with one another. To make matters worse, they had no replacement vehicle available for us. At that point, Avis had effectively stranded a family consisting of four children, an elderly mother, and three dogs in the middle of our vacation. We were left scrambling to find transportation while dealing with the stress, inconvenience, and uncertainty caused entirely by Avis's failure to properly inspect and maintain its vehicle and its inability to coordinate even the most basic customer service response. What is most disturbing is that every step of this experience reflected a complete breakdown of communication, accountability, and customer care. The vehicle should never have been rented out in an unsafe condition. Once the problem occurred, Avis should have ensured that a replacement vehicle was available before directing us to travel an additional hour. Instead, we were sent on a pointless trip only to be told that no one knew anything about our case and that no vehicle was available. This experience caused significant disruption to our family vacation, wasted valuable vacation time, created unnecessary stress for everyone involved, and demonstrated a shocking lack of concern for customer safety and well-being. I expect Avis to thoroughly investigate this matter and provide a meaningful response regarding how this situation was allowed to occur. I also believe compensation is warranted for the inconvenience, lost vacation time, additional travel, and unacceptable treatment we experienced. I have rented vehicles from many companies over the years, and this was by far one of the most frustrating and poorly managed experiences I have ever encountered. Avis failed to provide a safe vehicle, failed to communicate internally, failed to honor the assistance it promised, and failed to care for its customers when they needed help most.

While it was very easy to find the Enterprise Rent-A-Car counter near the small baggage claim at the airport, our service and ability to pick up our reserved car was more of a challenge. We found ourselves waiting first a few minutes, then longer, and then after an hour, we started asking more detailed questions. We learned that initially a vehicle or something was blocking Enterprise from getting any larger vehicles out for customers. Then, when that was resolved, the vehicle we rented was considered too dirty for us. We were eventually offered a mini van, which the group was not interested in renting. When our correct vehicle was finally ready, the Enterprise team did drop off some of the price and offer to cover the gas to save us time and money on the return. It was easy to drop it off several days later. The positive resolution balanced out our initially negative encounter. During a typical week, this location is open daily from 7 AM to 11:59 PM. Pick-up service is not available at airport locations though they did have after hours returns available. You can read more about this location on the Enterprise website at https://www.enterprise.com/en/car-rental-locations/us/fl/panama-city-nw-florida-intl-airport-55k7.html. Also on the website, you can find deals and coupons, partner rewards programs, and solutions for businesses. You can also sign-up for e-mail specials. While this experience was a bit of a rollercoaster, I would consider renting from Enterprise Rent-A-Car again after the effort to make up for what they recognized was a mistake which likely was unintentional on their part.

The slogan for the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP) is "It's in every escape" with a capital E, C, and P. The airport advertises its convenient daily nonstop flights that make it so that planning your next escape is easy. They also like to market that at this airport, you can go from "baggage to the beach in 20 minutes." Unlike friends who absolutely hate flying, I enjoy the travel experience, especially when using some helpful tools like CLEAR, Global Entry/TSA Pre-Check, airport lounge membership, and airline status. The only one of these that this airport uses is TSA Pre-Check. When checking in, I was able to easily check my bag at the Southwest Airlines counter. I then went to the All Gates check-in area and used TSA Pre-Check to skip most of the line at Security while keeping my shoes on (thanks to an American Express Platinum card which comes with credits for both TSA Pre-Check and CLEAR). Being a smaller airport, it was quite easy to navigate the gates and food in the terminal. The baggage claim was also easy to find as there was really only one baggage claim per large airline. The car rental area was more complicated though that may have been due to the rental company itself. One negative though is that there were no airline lounges of any sort. I ended up arriving quite early and visited the only restaurant with hot food (to go). I eventually found open corners of boarding areas with outlets and read a book for a while. On the ECP website, you can take advantage of free resources as a part of their Junior Flyer Zone (https://www.iflybeaches.com/junior-flyer-zone). There is also an "Art Escape" initiative in its concourse which showcases rotating beach-themed and contemporary works from local Bay and Walton County artists. Inaugural exhibits include photography by Mark Little and Chandler Williamson, along with student artwork, aiming to enhance the passenger experience. While I'm not sure when or if I'll be back to this airport or 30A, I did appreciate this airport and would go back again.

(They said the insurance you have with your credit card is not valid here. basically that is what they told me . and that to rent a car in Panama you need insurance from Thrifty OR pay a deposit of $1000.oo from your credit car. ___ I purchased the insurance from Thrifty because i felt like i had no other choice. the other rentals cars at this location had a very uncomfortable feeling . Plus they don't speak much English to understand . The next problem i had was the disappearance of the rear carper in my rental . we did not steal this carpet to bring back to the USA. a carpet in New York cost About $20.00 not $250 which was what they charge me (at the end) and since they already had my credit card number . There were no Police officer on location nor anyone to help me out. When we drove the car, The people sitting in the back seat said they did not notice any carpet on the floor . so there is a possibility that it was taken at the Valet parking at the hotel i was staying at , or they did not put a carpet from the beginning of the rental. Either way I was prepared to pay at most $60 for the carpet but they BULLY me the $250.00 , WHAT A RIP OFF. !!!!!! I was so upset to the point where I don't want to travel anymore to Panama . and it is very sad for the honest and friendly people in Panama whom work very hard to make us feel welcome and then situation like this happens . i am very upset at the THRIFTY franchise that allow these outlets to degrade its name. Or Maybe Thrifty USA and UK are part of this SCAM that Bully people into paying these hidden fee and fraudulence charges
