Food has zero seasoning. Fries are severely undercooked and the fried chicken is just panko crumbs and grease. It's not that the food isn't fresh or that it's bad quality, there is just ZERO seasoning. Even the spicy mayo is somehow more mild than regular mayo. read more

Our server name is Kavita. While it did take a few mins for a server to come over to our table once Kavita came over she was a breath of fresh air. This young woman is very cultured and educated about the meal and directed us to literally the best bottle of wine that went perfectly with our meal. The food tasted wonderful. My risotto the rice wasn't cooked properly. I could taste the rice grains which I dislike but other than that the actual taste was good. The two pasta dishes (I tasted them) tasted delicious. Ordered a beer and got it 20 minutes later, even after reminding them twice! The carbonara was really bad. The pinsa was just okay. We also ordered a burger medium well (don't judge, the carbonara was so bad we figured can't go wrong with as burger). The burger showed up bleeding and then the waiter argued that it is medium well but it was bleeding because of the thickness. Wouldn't accept any text possibility. I would stay away. read more

My boyfriend and I are visiting Rome from Texas! Pianca was by the street advertising her delicious restaurant, and we love to support a business that wants business, so we were happy to eat dinner here! I ordered the pork ribs with sweet potato fries, my honey got the spaghetti bologna, both meals were SPECTACULAR! Our server was the sweetest gentleman, my apologies for not getting his name, he had gorgeous eyes. We enjoyed our food and peach tea outside, it was small, tight area to eat, but was comfortable! My friends and I were walking on the streets looking for a good wine bar and the host recruited us in saying he'd get us a free limoncello if we came in. I've never had limoncello and knew I wanted to try it, so we took up on his offer. The staff was very friendly and were excited because we were from the USA. We ate prior to coming here so we didn't order any food- but the limoncello was superb. We got the house wine- Castelli romani- it was only 18 euros for the bottle; it's 5 euros a glass-it's a white wine which tasted pretty good. Recommend this place if you're looking for a quick drink! They also have cocktails and beers if you aren't interested in wine. read more

Our first dinner in Rome was underwhelming at Hespresso. We ordered the fettuccine Bolognese and Pumpkin Ravioli. There was not a hint of marinara in the bolognese, simply a browned beef sauce mixed in. They added sausage to the ravioli, which I read on the menu, but it was over salted. I had to scrape the sauce off the ravioli in an attempt to taste pumpkin. Ambiance was nice, staff super friendly. Those two dishes as prepared need to come off the menu. read more

With how often their servers shoved menus in my faces while bowing and saying "nihao" and "koniciwa," I eventually found it endearing after playing hard to get initially. And maybe, if I just order something, they would leave me alone while walking backing and forth from our B&B to the tourist destinations. Narrator: He was wrong. While the entire ambience of the restaurant seemed excellent (cleanliness, delicious looking food) it was a little hard to enjoy it because we were constantly asked about how "China/Japan" are. Kinda felt like something out of King of the Hill where they asked if we were Chinese or Japanese, and when we said Korean, they repeated that same question. We wanted to like this place, but it's a little hard to when we were treated like a bunch of exotic specimens instead of as peasant tourists. I never thought I would've missed the feeling of being treated like an easy to scam tourist until we stopped by here. Needless to say, didn't order food. Just left and went elsewhere. read more

Stay away if you're not from here. You're treated like a peasant. Literally. I came here for lunch with my boyfriend and ended up leaving. We walked in and were told that if we want to eat, we can sit outside. Perfect. Weather was great and we were hungry. After about 5 mins a young lady came out. We initially asked her for still water and provided us with lunch menus. She then took the order of the group that arrived after us. We sat there for another ten minutes while the group next to us got their drink orders and various snacks. Another lady comes out and we again ask her for water and gave her our food order. Then minutes later she comes back and says the pizzas we order will be $13 each and not the $8 that is on the menu. She couldn't explain why they are increasing the price. Something about cheese being cold. I'm not sure. Either way we wasted about 20 minutes here and left after the ridiculous service. Oh and we never got that water we ordered...twice. read more

Horrible! 0 stars if I could. Went to get some pastries with my family for take out. The guy ignored us for 10 min while talking to other customers. When he finally greet me, he asked me what I wanted to drink. I asked for pastries and he told me to move to another area. I did, but he kept ignoring me. Other customers came in and he started to help them. Left the place. They don't deserve my money. read more

This review is soley based off of breakfast and pastries. I got the American breakfast, as well croissants. Both were really good! The American breakfast came with fresh jam on the side for the toast, and it was some of the best jam I'd ever had. I also got a fruit juice, and I could tell that it was fresh and had just been blended up. I highly recommend this place for breakfast at the very least, and at some point I would love to try dinner! read more

Very friendly staff, clean restaurant with good food. We ordered the margarita and mushroom, mozzarella and sausage pizza. They were very accommodating when I asked to add tomato sauce to my mushroom pizza. We also were happy that the location was much closer to our hotel than other restaurants and had a nice outdoor seating area. read more

Don't listen to the bad reviews the dinner I have was great . The clam and spaghetti was very good. My family enjoyed the burgers. The fish was full of flavor. The waiters were very friendly and helpful. The only downsides were the people trying to sell things to you. The other thing was the people walking around saying come eat here come eat here. I'd heard mixed reviews about this brand new café-restaurant in Monti (it opened in December, I think) so wanted to pop in for breakfast to scope the place out. It's certainly in a good, central location, tucked between Via Nazionale and Via Palermo in the heart of the city, and the interior is stunning. Don't stop at the bar, have a wander round the corner and look into the main lounge to really appreciate the place - it's in a former 19th century tram station, and the Victorian era clock and exposed girders give a lovely vintage touch to this essentially modern and clean restaurant. The coffee was great - I had a decaf cappuccino to which my barista added a couple of spoonfuls of zabaglione - delicious! The pastries were fresh and tasty with lots of choice in a very attractive glass space so probably four and a half out of five for the breakfast experience. I popped round the corner to have a look at the lunch options - uncooked pinsas and ready-to-go gourmet sandwiches with deep-fried crisps were sitting in a glass case - would be nice if these could be prepared on order but the choice looked good. I should really return for lunch or dinner to give this place a proper shot - the prices are fairly steep for lunch but not atypical for gourmet street food in Monti (sandwiches costing from €8).
