After a long flight into Rome we checked into the Hotel Artemide. We had to wait a bit for our room so we went upstairs to Ambrosia and the first thing I had was the buffalo di mozzarella and sun dried tomatoes. EPIC! EVERY NIGHT after that, regardless of what we did i went back for it again. I'm still having dreams about that dish. The staff was awesome, the view was amazing, and zero wait.

Cute little spritzeria. The staff seemed very busy even though the place was very small. They forgot to bring us menus before coming by to take our order. Drinks came out with a significant amount of time between them, even though my group of 4 all ordered pretty simple drinks and all at the same time. The main reason we went was the view which is essentially nonexistent unless you get seated by the edge and looking toward the colosseum. Otherwise, you're maybe getting some sunset colors, but not much else. If I had the choice to go again, I'd skip it.

Amazing sweeping views of Rome with beautiful atmosphere. Food and drinks were gorgeous and delicious!

My friend and I were looking for a good rooftop spot pre-dinner and came here for aperitivo! It was a bit confusing on how to get up here as the elevator says "Staff Only" but we made it! Upon walking in, I loved the ambiance - its upscale but also casual at the same time. Not sure how the food is here but the cocktails are a bit on the pricier side when compared to the other aperitivo spots. However, the snacks and views definitely made up for it! Unfortunately, it was raining so we sat indoors. I enjoyed my Aperol Spritz very much as it was on the stronger side. Definitely would come back!

Elegant outdoor and rooftop dining experience with great drinks. Shared a bottle of white wine, as well as a couple of the cocktails, which were fantastic. The cheese and bread board was a nice shareable appetizer. The entrees were a bit lacking. The presentation was nice, but the portions were incredibly small for the high price. Our waiter was okay, not attentive but nice for the most part. Would give the views, location, and drinks 5 stars. But the food and service were lacking, especially with the high prices of this place

We had enjoyed the rooftop bar at Hotel Artemis and decided to try Ambrosia, the rooftop restaurant for dinner. The restaurant was booked for for our first two nights, but we secured a reservation for our final night at the hotel. Our views of the Roman sunset were stunning. The menu is a far ranging with some interesting and tasty combinations. Staff was attentive, but allowed a leisurely dining experience. Our evening was topped off by a couple getting engaged right behind us. Ah Rome!

Love the Food and Location.. located in the heart of the city, 15 min walk to the Trevi Fountain.

This classy but not pretentious establishment absolutely needs a Michelin star because they deserve one. The service is incredibly attentive without being overbearing. The food's presentation and flavor is 5 stars. The drinks are absolutely divine. I had mocktail and they were art. My only recommendation would be to have more vegetarian options. Must do in Rome. Brava

Beautiful view. Delicious drinks and snacks, unfortunately we didn't get to try the food because we were there mainly for drinks. The line was long to get in as it is a very small rooftop. But spent over an hour there and it was beautiful.

They helped me with my engagement to my beautiful wife to be, from the moment we entered the building to the time we left the staff spared no expense to detail. Definitely would recommend everyone to come and check out the restaurant. Food and drinks were great.

Rooftop bar restaurant on top floor of hotel. We just had drinks there after dinner. Service was great. Drinks were excellent. You don't see a whole lot up here. But I saw pictures of sunset if you want to hit it at that time.

Was wandering around Rome when my husband wanted a rooftop restaurant. Yelp recommended Ambrosia and we were not disappointed! Definitely get a reservation, none were available on the website but said to call for same day inquiries. We decided to show up giving it a shot and they made room for us. With our drinks they gave us a free appetizer which was delicious and a new luggage tag. I got the Totoro drink, not pictured is the show that comes with it. They let us have our first round before moving us outside for the view. Will be back!

Cocktails & a fun time. Ciao!

A jazz club for American tourists…read more Okay, there was one Australian lady and a few Chinese. Everyone else was American. Prices are sky-high because this is a soak the tourist situation. Alexanderplatz which is the premiere jazz club in Rome charges $18 euros for a month membership - no cover after that - and $12 per drink. So once you have paid your monthly cover charge, you can hear all the jazz you want for free - or if need be for $12 euros a drink At Alexanderplatz, the performances are legendary with some of the most innovative and technically amazing musicians in Rome. We dropped over $150 euros at Gregory's. We got a perfectly reasonable yeoman guitarist. But nothing like the artistic lions that routinely perform over at Alexanderplatz. Now to be fair, we had dinner at Gregory's and we never eat at Alexanderplatz. The standard "sushi dinner" was perfectly reasonable yeoman sushi. There was so little of it that we both had to order a la carte dishes afterwards. The extra extras seriously expanded the final tab. * * * One argument in Gregory's favor: their bar is extraordinary. The bar at Alexanderplatz is mediocre. Gregory's charges top dollar for its bar offerings, but what they mix and what is in their bottles is worth every single euro they ask for. I would be perfectly happy to just go to the bar, and order a few premium beverages. I would hear my wallet cry. But I would know that I was drinking supremely well in return for my investment. Fortunately, the bar is downstairs from the club. I would not have to put up with the shenanigans in the club. * * * The problem with the club is the crowd. At most, one third of the customers are actually there to listen to jazz. The room is filled with tourists taking selfies. There are also hot-daters playing snuggle-buns. Many of them will leave mid-set so they can go back to the hotel. Gregory's is less about the music and more about selling happy memories of Rome. * * * Alexanderplatz gets a mostly Italian crowd. You are looking as musicians, music critics, academics, and all purpose artsy types - as well as normal Italian human beings who just want to hear fine music. The music is taken very very seriously. Yeah, there are usually two or three tables with good time Charlies who are doing the phone recording, party hearty thing. But this is 8% of the audience at Alexanderplatz as opposed to 70% of the audience at Gregory's. To be fair to the crowd at Gregory's, the music at Alexanderplatz is simply better. The jazz at Alexanderplatz is capable of transfixing even philistines with tin ears. Gregory's jazz doesn't put that much on the table. But the crowd at Alexanderplatz sets me up for listening to mystic, complex music with the highest level of attention and aesthetic receptiveness. The crowd at Gregory's just gets me irritated. * * * If you are in Rome with a hot date, go to Gregory's. Be prepared to shell out the bucks. * * * If you are in Rome with someone who can truly appreciate once-in-a-lifetime musical experiences, take them to Alexanderplatz. After you talk about the music for half an hour after the concert, You can still go back to the hotel. Just figure that the hotel will be the second best part of the night.

I ordered a split of Bolero even though it's hot, I wanted it with my gnocchi with black truffles. The gnocchi and the wine were both delicious. I also had ordered a salad to start. When they brought out my salad, it was huge and I remarked about how big it was and he said oh would you like a smaller one and I said, yes please. I hadn't even touched the bowl. A few minutes later, he brought a much smaller much better sized bowl filled with crunchy radicchio, carrots, arugula, and other nice veggies. I was grateful because I couldn't even finish that one. There's no way I could've done the large one. The service was excellent. They were very kind and courteous, and went out of their way to be helpful more than once . As I was leaving it was pouring rain. My waiter didn't want me to go out into the rain without an umbrella and I said I was fine and I laughed that I wasn't made of sugar, most could attest to that. He smiled and said just a minute and he went back somewhere towards the kitchen and dug around and came back out with an umbrella. Talk about customer service so I had a lovely lovely walk back home in the rain it's been very hot here so it felt delightful. I returned the umbrella yesterday evening.
