Anyone that goes to Hey Diddle Diddle or knows anyone that has a child go to Hey Diddle Diddle they are currently being investigated for child abuse, neglect, and SA. If your child has said anything to you or if you've ever worked there and you've witnessed anything call Albany police department for an investigation number, so you can try and stop these people from hurting more kids. They will send your kid home without telling you why they have bruises and if you question them while you're strapping your kid in the car seat, they'll be like oh yeah I have an incident report form for you to fill out. They bumped their head, but they hope that you don't notice. My 3 1/2 year-old tells me that they've spanked him my baby. They squished my baby on the ground and threw him, but they never threw Aaron or squished him on the ground. They've only ever spanked Aaron is what he tells me. And he tried to freeze them so they would stop hurting baby and then sadly exclaimed that I guess I don't have super powers because I couldn't freeze them. read more

I would not recommend this child care, we started our daughter here full days and nearly every other day we were told she was acting, up, not listening, and being mean pinching, hitting, throwing. I was told she was stealing other kids food but not eating it and came in early one day and watched her eat and she didn't touch anyone's plate, I did however see an older child pretending to steal another's food and laughing like it was a joke, pretty inappropriate around young children. I was also told she was being very loud jumping up and down at nap time on a mat, so my husband went in and said she was being noisy but not super loud like they said and that she was bouncing on her knees not jumping up and down. I was also told when my daughter started that she had to sit at a smaller table since her school skills weren't the same, then a couple weeks later that they had stopped trying to help her learn because she needed socialization first before she could be capable of learning so they were just letting her basically sit there or sit there and color or go off and play while others got to learn. Sitting at home with my daughter I know she can learn because she's learned a lot of things, she just needs help to understand how to write sine it's a new thing but apparently this would be too time consuming. I was also told that in the owners 16 years of childcare she's never seen a kid like my daughter referring to the way she "acted" supposedly, I worked childcare for a little over a year before having my daughter and met "kids like my daughter supposedly is" according to her in that short amount of time and the facility (ymca) I worked for never considered kicking any of those children out, and our three member staff dedicated and took the extra time for these children no problem, no extra help, and no extra cost since the parent were already paying us to do the job. Both during play and nap time. Then we were told she couldn't come because she was sick and the doctor said she was fine to go to school and not contagious however it was still insisted she shouldn't be there until she was done being sick despite the doctors opinion. Originally we had her at a different daycare in the prior year for a few months with no complaints, she has been back at this other facility now and has had zero problems no " hitting, pinching, throwing, not listening, ect." Also we were suggested to get her evaluated for her development march 25 or 26 with a take home survey and given the name of a center in Corvallis . The next week was spring break, the following Monday I was asked by the owner to set her up an appointment. Tuesday I come in and they were kicking my daughter out, the owner stated she was too much for her staff and I was welcomed to pay her extra to bring in someone else also that she had been asking me for over two months to get my daughter evaluated. For starters my daughter went here for a month and a half not over 2 , secondly the evaluation stuff was a week before they kicked her out, also I'm already paying for child are services, which apparently another child care facility can do without extra staff. Third i asked a couple weeks prior to her being kicked out if she was too much for the staff to handle after they were saying something new everyday and was told no. Finally I did have her evaluated to reaffirm what I already knew , the evaluators were shocked to hear the things I was being told my daughter was doing and they didn't believe it either after spending time with her. Then one of the evaluators said it was probably the result of the staff not taking the time to understand my daughter because her speech skills aren't the best. I've taken my daughter a lot of places with other kids the library, park, zoo, YMCA, ect she doesn't behave this way like I told the owner. The only time she does some of these things is around her younger cousin when her cousin is trying or does hit or pinch her. Also she had a couple of reports sent home from her being hurt by another child and falling on a toy house, as well as telling my husband and I when we went to pick her up that someone was hitting her and said other kids names. I don't know if the center didn't like my daughter, however given the experience I assume so and wouldn't recommend the facility. read more

*Note: the second and third paragraph has the most important information. But the first is quite important too, as it puts the situation into perspective. I will never subject my child to this horror-filled "daycare" again. For the past 5 months, my son had been going there. He constantly cried real tears when I left which, for him, is unusual (he didn't do this at the previous daycare he was going to). On a few occasions I have come back to the daycare mid-day to drop stuff off and found him crying and looking extremely depressed. When I asked the teachers to give him a little more TLC, they simply rolled their eyes at me. During the 5 months of him being there, he began acting out dramatically at home with me and with anyone close to him. He began hitting and biting us and had changed from a happy loving 1.5-2 year old boy to one who acted out constantly for attention and who began very violent. I have a degree in psychology and criminal justice (along with being a trained observer) and can tell you that his behaviors was not normal for his age. The main part of all this is that for the past 2 months or more, my son has been coming home with unexplained bruises all over. I documented it immediately many times. The daycare never wrote an incident report and they never knew what happened to him. Yes, kids get hurt sometimes. But I guarantee these marks were brutal and not from accidental occurrences. Such marks included: finger print bruising all over his forearms, nail scratches on the inside of his upper arm, bruising on the back on the legs, bruises and other odd scratching type marks all over his face, bruising on his back, and more. Every time I simply asked where the marks had come from, the director and teachers progressively got more and more defensive and aggressive in their manners with me. Instead of fixing the problem by possibly addressing it with the staff, I was even told to go find another daycare if I didn't have matching "values". By "values" I got the impression they meant that i cared to actually have my child safe and watched when they don't care to actually love and watch children. The last time I asked about the bruising and scratches all over his face, a staff member named Nichole began screaming at me. This was one of those moments that still to this day baffles me because any normal adult would NEVER raise their voice at someone for simply inquiring about their child having MARKS all over their face for a reason they could not explain. Especially since it is supposed to be a professional setting, it surprised me that I was being literally screamed at. I finally had enough because she was yelling and literally in my face while I held my son. So I left and contacted the proper people to discuss the abuse my son had been enduring for the past months. Needless to say, only parents who don't care about their children would bring their children to this "daycare". Please, if you care for the safety and well-being of your children, DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE. No more children need to be tortured. This has gone on long enough!!! Please help me and help yourselves by saving your child from this wretched place. read more

I have had my daughter here about 6 months and it's great! The owner runs a tight ship and with the safety and emotional health of my kid in her hands I'm so happy that she does! You see so many things in the news about tragic things that happen at day cares and you never really know if you can truly trust someone with your kids but with the way this place is ran, I feel comfortable with my daughter here. They do tons of activities with the kids. My daughter comes home dirty everyday from playing so hard! Lol. Honestly my daughter has developed so much socially the past 6 months it amazes me. Would never use again, nor recommend. My two boys were here a total of 3 weeks before I took them out of this facility. I started the daycare with the schedule of Mon, Tues, and Fri 7-4:30 the first week the owner told me that she did not believe I worked and that I needed to show proof from my work that I was working, I had told her that I assure her that the government would not allow me to have daycare assistance if it hasn't been proven that I already work. Non the less I brought them a schedule from my work listing all my breaks and it was signed with my supervisors name, phone number, and had a heading with the company name. She at first excepted this, however the next day I came in she then stated that proof from my work wasn't enough that she now needed proof from the DHS. I scheduled an appointment with my worker the next day I had off which was 5 days after the request. The DHS worker called over the hey diddle diddle saying she will not release any information regarding my work or schedule, that if I decided to release that information that it was my choice, however she was not going to release that type of information. The next day I came in I arrived at 7am like normal and stayed and played with the kids for about 10 minutes and then started to leave to go to work. The owner stopped me and said that she had made a decision that she will only now watch the kids from 7:15-4:15, I stated that I work at 7:30, and have to be there at 7:25 to be able to bring up all my programs on my computer to start at 7:30. She stated that 10 minutes is plenty of time to drive from the daycare which is by the skate park to the area by safeway and to be able to get prepared for the work day. During all these conversations she was very accusatory and aggressive with her voice and very judgemental with me being on assistance, even though I work full time and at a great job. THis was the last day my kids went there. In the 3 weeks they were there i was told my 2 year old had an attitude problem and that the other workers had to call the owner to be able to get help having ideas of how to "handle" him.
