However, one of my friends asked me to come with her to go threading here, and well, I'm basing this review on that particular experience. Holy fucking shit. So threading is apparently using a string to slowly pluck someone's eyebrows. To be absolutely honest, I have no idea why you'd do such a thing, but it's okay. I will just try my best to understand. However, judging from the way she used my hand as a squeeze toy (and hurt it in the process), I assume it is extremely painful. That's not the point here though. What I definitely like about this place is the lengths they went to cheer my friend up as she was going this horrific thing. The girls at this place were very nice, and managed to almost ease her up as she was going through the procedure. As far as I can tell, most nail spas and beauty salons are very similar. If there's anything that makes a difference, it's how great the people doing the treatment are. And if you want to meet some of the nicest beauticians around, then here's the place to go.

I asked her if she was willing to do a trial makeup on my wife. She smiled, cleaned her hands, and went ahead with her demonstration. She was silent, speaking only to ask about what look my wife would want on our wedding. My wife liked the result and she booked Ms. Hibaler right there. On our wedding day, my wife looked radiant, stunning, and natural. She didn't have a ton of makeup on--or so I thought. Ms Hibaler even did my make up. Well, actually she just put some powder on my face and helped in keeping my hair in place. I highly recommend her. She was very professional and she arrived earlier than the set time (our wedding was in Batangas). She worked silently and without fuss. She even waived her lunch until everyone that she needed to apply makeup on was ready for the occasion. She also retouched my wife's makeup when needed, even during the reception.

They said something about being trained for months before they get to sit in and work. Their chairs are so comfortable that it sets the relaxing mood pretty fast. Until that first pull of their thread comes in, you realize it's not gonna be such a bad 15 minutes of "torture." They do it quick and fast like taking off a bandaid and next thing you know, your treatment is done. They give you this nice cold cream after to cool off your freshly threaded eyebrows that now look amazing. They offer packages that can be shared between you and your friends and family. Its super sulit! Promise! I go about every other month since my eyebrows don't grow as fast so that package really does come in handy when the time comes when I need to feel pretty again.

My friends, though, enthusiastically invited me to this basic make-up class which one of them found on a discount coupon site - if we come as a group, the discount would be much bigger. While I wasn't really keen on it, I figured learning with friends would be fun. The instructor was friendly and showed us the specific shades of make-up that would suit our skintones. She gave us general guidelines as well as step-by-step instructions. I kind of got lost on the step-by-step instructions, particularly on the eye shadow and the eye liner, but she helped me out. I found out through this class that I look good wearing eye liner, but I don't know if I'll be able to do it again on my own. I did get the general guidelines for the powder, the blush, and the lipstick, at least, which sounded more manageable to me. They offered the make-up we used for that class, and we bought some. It's Mineraux, a hypoallergenic mineral make-up also with sunscreen. It's quite easy to use so I use it on the few times I do wear make-up, especially on formal events. Make-up and I are still not the best of pals (I still don't apply eye liner as I find it daunting), but we have a better relationship now.
