My first every waxing experience was with Lay Bay Waxing Salon. I was nervous at first. Okay, not just a little nervous, but a lot. I've heard so many stories about the pain and some no-so-good experiences that I wouldn't wish on anybody. But sometimes, a girl needs to grow up. So off to Lay Bare Waxing Salon I went, hand-in-hand with a good friend of mine.
I was hoping that my friend could go inside the cubicle with me to hold my hand, but Lay Bare has a strict policy of no companions. I was carefully briefed by my attendant of what to expect. She could tell by the way I acted that I was a waxing virgin. Apparently, Lay Bare does not use the typical hot wax that other waxing salons make use of. Instead the use sugar wax jelly which is made up of sugar, calamansi and honey, all natural ingredients to make that sticky paste. My underarms were the first to be devirginized from waxing. While it was painful, the pain was tolerable. Okay, so I guess it wasn't too bad. After waxing my underarms, waxing my legs felt like a walk in the park.
