We had been worried about starting such a big project alongside working/living at home, but the team on site were very professional, friendly and always left the site clean and tidy each day. We were really impressed with the high-quality work of all the tradespeople that worked on our loft. Mark visited the site regularly and kept us updated with the progress at each stage. It was always easy to reach Mark with any questions or queries throughout (before, during & after) the work. As for the final price, it was always as initially agreed, and any extras that came up were communicated to us beforehand. From the moment you talk to Mark face to face you can see that he is an honest, transparent, and trustworthy person. I hired Pickups to replace my immersion heater with a condensing combi boiler…read more The owner came round within hours of the installation demanding to be paid cash for the job and said he would post a receipt which was never received. i was left with no hot water in the bathroom as they had not checked the installation. They corrected the problem but in the quickest way possible and I was left with an unsightly copper pipe running from my bath to the sink. There was a leak from one of the fittings on the boiler which resulted in water soaking in to and ruining the kitchen work surface. When they were called back to correct the problem, I was not home and the engineer told my wife the problem had been resolved. When I returned I discovered the engineer had just covered the leaky fitting in silicone. I called the company repeatedly over the next few days and left many messages but they just ignored my calls and the problems they had caused with the poor workmanship. I later found out they had also fitted the flue incorrectly which resulted in water leaking inside the boiler and the internal metalwork corroded. I now have to replace the boiler after a couple of years. I contacted the boiler manufacturer and discovered that Pickups also did not register the installation with the manufacturer which voided my warranty, Stay away from these Cowboys. Simon and his son Charlie came to see what was needed, went to buy the necessary bulbs etc and all was remedied in one go, with no drama. Such a great service - I just wish I'd known about this company sooner. It would have saved me a lot of stressing about jobs not getting 'sorted'!

When they attended I asked for quotes for several jobs. It was quickly apparent to me from their attitude and body language and responses that they weren't really interested. The quote given for the jobs they did quote for were, in my opinion, inflated and some of the jobs they just didn't want to quote for. In the end I asked them to carry out one job and they departed saying they'd get back to me to arrange a time to carry out the work. I never heard from them again. After meeting them, I expected little and got nothing.
