She also incorporated some special items for us, like a blanket knit by grandma. Katie was very patient with us in making sure baby was calm and cool for the photos. She also made some helpful tips (like heating up the room so baby would be comfortable without layers). Katie had a very calming touch and moved baby into position without waking, a feat I have not mastered. I would highly recommend Katie for newborn or family photos! Couldn't be happier!

She was also glad to include the parents and grandma in the photoshoot too. Unlike some baby photographers, Katie comes to your home with all the cute props and hats so you don't have to deal with bringing your newborn out to a studio or buy hats that your baby will probably only wear once! She was super sweet and managed to get a ton of beautiful photos in less than 2 hours. She made us feel very comfortable -- as parents of a newborn, we were still new to parenting ourselves and Katie was very accommodating. She takes advantage of furniture/decor/props in your home so the photos look natural and not like it was done at a studio. We ended getting the First Year package which was very reasonable for newborn, 6-month and 1 year photos. I liked that there was an option to buy all the digital images rather than just making you pay for each individual photo. The photos were posted online for us to review and share with our family in literally a day or two. My one year old was grumpy, and it was clear it wasn't going to be a fun shoot with the cold wind. Anna suggested relocating the shoot across the bridge to Sausalito, and the new location she chose was sunny and beautiful. I reached out…read moreto her a few days before labor day weekend explaining the situation with our dog who was diagnosed with terminal cancer. The doctor had told us that he had a few weeks to live. Being a COVID-2020 bride, we had rescheduled our wedding 3x, the last 2x in hopes of Chewie making the wedding. Needless to say, I was in shambles and when I reached out to Mirthica, I half expected her to tell me it was too last minute. Fortunately, she not only listened to our story with empathy and sharing her own story, she also made the whole process super easy and fun. She was communicative the entire time up until the shoot. She had given me her advice on the outfits that both Chewie and I were picking out. She worked with me to change the times (since it was the heatwave and there's no way we coulda survived taken pics in the afternoon). During the shoot, she taught us how to pose, was gentle with Chewie, was very patient, was super fun/easy to get along with, and did everything in her power to get us the best pics (we broke a few rules here and there lol). After the shoot, she sent me a couple of sneak peeks which was so nice! I just got my pics back this afternoon and we are literally gushing over them with our families. It got me thinking about the special relationship I'm developing with my twins, particularly since this was our first photoshoot just the three of us post-divorce. The fact that Leigh Ann asks such thoughtful questions made me know she gets it. These are more than just family photos. They're telling a story, capturing memories and feelings from this time in our lives. Not only did Leigh Ann capture that relationship -- in all its silliness, love, and intimacy -- in incredibly breath-taking photos, she made the entire experience so worth all the stress, time, and money. Family photoshoots are stressful and exhausting. As a single mom, I can handle the kids on my own no problem, but photoshoots are a certain type of kryptonite. I think because I actually have to pay attention to myself too and try to look presentable? For some reason I felt really nervous about the photoshoot, like I wouldn't be able to handle it, that the kids wouldn't smile or cooperate, or they'd want me to carry them both while I was lugging bags full of props and outfit changes at the beach. By the time we met up with Leigh Ann, both kids had fallen asleep in the car and I fretted that we were able to have two of the crankiest toddlers on the windiest day of the year. It was going to be a nightmare. Nope -- Leigh Ann was so great with my kids, she immediately won them over, and won me over because she had a wagon that we could put all our stuff in (and promised the kids they could ride in the wagon on the way back)! Honestly I was so exhausted by the time we got to the actual photoshoot, I don't remember much of it. It felt like I was on autopilot. But the entire time, I knew I could trust Leigh Ann. I knew she'd capture amazing photos, so I let go of all the pressure and expectations, and just watched her interact with my girls. She knew what to say to get them to smile, to run up to me with glee, and she was SO SO SO patient. She also has an amazing eye and got really creative, beautiful photos of us with the sunset. I could go on and on, but it all boils down to Leigh Ann being SO amazing. When I got the photos back, I knew I had to buy them all. There was no way to narrow it down to just 30. I'm so glad I got the chance to work with her, and I can't wait to work with her again next year.

Just had an amazing experience for a family session with another photographer that reminded us to…read morewrite this review. First session was great and photos were delivered promptly. Second session was fine, but took her months to get anything to us. She asked if she could get us these after two weeks because she was leaving town the next day. This turned into several months of waiting, lots of excuses or just not responding to emails. If you are expecting to use the photos for anything other than personal enjoyment, consider another photographer. When we finally got the photos, they were much less nice than her maternity session with us. Her contract stated that she would provide a few prints for late delivery. When we asked for those, she stopped responding to emails entirely and we gave up after a few months, just not worth the trouble.
