Came in and ordered the beef short ribs, shrimp fried rice, some rolls, and salmon sashimi. Awesome taste and great ambiance. Exactly what I was looking for to start my vacation off.

    Another round...

Parental guidance. The following contains some sexual content: "Ohhh myyy gooosssh" were the words that came out of my mouth. I probably even *jizzed* my pants a little when the food arrived... Me and my mates came here for the sushi "buffet" one evening. I use quotation marks because it's not exactly all you can eat, as will be explained. We needn't reserve a table, plus every time I've come here it has been pretty quiet. The restaurant is low lit and trendy, and you get to sit on the floor just the way the Japanese do it (well almost). It's not obvious that they serve buffet unless you ask. They then give you a slip of paper where you select what you want to eat from the selection of sushi listed. You can order up to five times. PLUS, they serve a selection of hot Japanese food as well but that can only be ordered once. Now although it's not exactly "all you can eat", the platters of sushi succeeded in gratifying 5 sushi lovers! We were beat by the 3rd round! We couldn't go on any longer... But it was more than worth it, at £16.80 each it was a bargain!

Hi Sushi is one of those places where you walk in the door and think why have I not been here before! I came here today for the first time and it was spectacular! The layout of the place is great, a mix of Japanese and modern architecture! the illusion that people are sitting half lotus when if fact the seats are enclosed in the floorboards is quite cool. I had the bento box for £11, miso soup, salmon sushi, prawn tempura and salad... I was really full afterwards! we went for a bottle of the malbec which set us back £13.50 which is pretty average for a bottle of wine I guess! 10/10 for the service also, our waiter was very attentive, I never had to ask for my water glass to be topped up which was nice!

This place does do an excellent buffet option which I think was about £18pp for as much sushi as you can eat. You also get a choice of up to 5 hot items on a separate menu. I would give it 5* based on the quality, price, decor and portion size. However, they do have probably the most miserable staff I've ever seen. When not serving you can see them congregating in little groups chatting and giving customers dirty looks. Your made to feel awkward and you shouldn't dare interrupt their conversation with any possible requests or questions you may have.

Wow! Walking into this place I imediatley felt like a Giesha.. I just wish I was wearing my Kimono that day. Oh honestly, this place is incredable, you feel like you have been teleported to Japan. The place felt so elemental with running water, cusions as seating and softly spoken smiley and mediative waitors. I didn't really want to leave to be honest, the energy here gave me goose bumps as it was so gentle! being an avid Suishi fan myself, I found the food delicious and not at all expensive. The whole experience made me feel like I had been to a Spa for the weekend. Oh bliss.....

We came here on a date night a few months ago but neither of us were quite hungry enough to stuff ourselves with sushi, so decided to try the Ramen instead. I might still come back to fill my belly with all you can eat sushi another day. Awesome-sauce: - It looks nice. I like the dug in tables in Japan, but haven't seen them in the UK - The menu is quite extensive and not too pricey - My (slightly strange sounding) tonkatsu ramen was interesting. It was a bit like a mixture of katsudon and ramen. Less impressive: - It's not uber-authentic and seems to be run by Chinese staff (you can see the notices to staff are all in Chinese.) this isn't a biggy, just don't expect to order in Japanese. - The ramen were a bit too squishy and the broth was a bit salty. I've had far better in London Pro tip: If there is no 'tabehodai' (all you can eat menu), just ask for it.

Food: This is more of a quantity (all-you-can-eat) over quality type place Atmosphere: Love the overall look and the sitting on the floor aspect Service: Decent Price: 16.80 GBP is pretty good considering how much food most people can consume here AND the general price of sushi in the UK

    Hi Sushi Salsa

Keeping in tradition with other strange Japanese brand names such as Pepsi Ice Cucumber and Water Salad Shop, the name of Hi Sushi Salsa is a conglomeration of one of my favourite foodstuffs and a Latin dance. The food here is so good that the cleverness of the name actually becomes more apparent: the Salsa bit is only there to describe the dancing of your taste buds across your mouth when you take your first bite. They've got a really nice window display to boot! As you walk in you take in the pleasant, cool and dark surroundings that include a post-modern water fountain and teppan tables. Our order included a 12 piece sashimi dish along with various other sushi platters, and the clear winner of the day: Scottish beef tataki with green leeks. The salads are special too. Though the prices are quite steep at this restaurant, your dining experience will be second to none. When you get up to leave this lovely restaurant, romantically set along the Camden canal, you might just not want to leave.

In a related and very lovely gesture, the server brought me a complimentary mutton roll (with chilli ketchup) and said they usually send something on the house for solo diners :) The roll was delicious -- savoury mutton without a strong game-y flavour that went really nicely with the mildly spicy ketchup. I decided to have an order of the Lankan chicken kari paired with a hopper. I did not know what a hopper was before then (let alone seen one), so it was an interesting surprise when I was served this unevenly thick, bowl-shaped rice pancake. Fortunately, I did not go wrong with this choice, as the hopper was so delicious. The light rice-based flavour of the hopper paired so nicely with the rich, slightly spicy curry and the tender and savoury chicken, and I really liked the textural variety of the hopper itself (thicker, spongier base and thinner, crispier sides). The ratio of hopper to curry was not quite right, though, so I ended up ordering another roti to enjoy the remaining half of my curry and chicken. The roti was really delicious -- fluffy on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside -- and similarly paired super well in carrying the curry flavour. All in all, price point was pretty solid for the quality and amount of food. I thought the hopper was pricier than expected, but conversely the curry was less so -- so overall it all seemed quite reasonable. I would love the chance to come visit again and try more of their deliciously fragrant curry options next time.

The place was quite busy, and interestingly, the same person taking orders was also cooking. It's a very small setup--definitely not meant for dining in. The vibe is more like "grab your food and head out." We ordered chicken egg fried rice and chicken chow mein. Watching the food being cooked right in front of us was fascinating--quick, high heat, and full of action. Once we got our order, we sat outside to eat. The first thing I noticed was that the food was quite oily. More disappointing, though, was that I couldn't find any chicken in my fried rice--even though I had paid extra for it. I went back, showed them, and asked if chicken had been added. They bluntly said "yes" and didn't bother to check further, which was frustrating That said, the food itself tasted good overall. It's just that the oiliness and the lack of proper service took away from the experience. I wouldn't say I won't visit again--it feels more like an off day--but I was definitely expecting better service.

Definitely one of those places where you walk in and immediately think "okay this is going to be great." Unfortunately, the actual experience didn't really match the setting for us. The drinks were good, but not particularly memorable considering the price point and reputation. The bigger issue was the service. We were seated at a shared high top next to another couple and then waited around 25 minutes before anyone took our order. After that, it was another long wait before the drinks actually arrived. By the time we finally got them, the whole vibe had kind of faded for us and we ended up leaving after one round.
