Came here for late lunch. There was a good number of customers at 2 pm so that was surprising. There was only one waitress and she was very nice and was surprisingly was able to keep up with all the customers. We ordered the chicken katsu curry ramen and the Shoryu chicken curry with rice. They were both good but nothing out of the ordinary. Although for some reason the ramen smelled very fishy...maybe due to the fish cakes and nori? We also ordered the strawberry lychee virgin mockito which was good but a ton of ice so barely any drink. The cost was ok and they auto charge a 12.5% tip which is optional but still kinda strange it's automatically added to the bill if it's optional? This time, it worked out. We chose this place because it got good reviews. The inside is really nice, rustic with a modern twist. I'm almost 100% positive we were seated upstairs. My fiancee and his sister both got the tonkatsu ramen. I got the Shoryu Ganso Tonkatsu, which is their signature ramen. I think it's really difficult to f*ck up ramen, so of course, the ramen was really really good. I also got the virgin yuzu mojito, which was tart, but I liked it. I couldn't tell if it was just me but the waitress was a bit short with us. Maybe I was just imagining it. Regardless, I can see why this place gets good reviews. The ramen was truly excellent, and the broth was impeccable. I also ordered a lychee cocktail and that was DELICIOUS. My dad also really loved the kara age chicken AS HE SHOULD. The chicken was tender and the accompanying sauce honestly slayed. All in all, 10/10. Excellent experience, highly recommend! Also, just the greatest staff. We came by after watching Hadestown around the corner, and the staff were really kind and welcoming, especially at the relatively late hour. I am so excited to write this review! Today I went to Shoryu Ramen for lunch and from the moment I walked in I knew it was going to be good! I went with a friend who is a ramen virgin and she left wanting more! Hands down the best bowl of Ramen I have had outside of Japan! We arrived around noon and the place was nearly empty! We noticed a lot of tables said reserved but thankfully they had a few open ones in the back. We were one of 2 seated tables. Our server was amazing and quickly came over and took our orders! I wanted something meaty and spicy so I went with the Karaka Tan Tan Tonkotsu! This was the best ramen ever! They ask you hear how you want your noodles. You can have them soft, medium, or hard noodles! I got it with soft noodles. It was a tonkotsu broth with a twist - rich and spicy marinated minced pork instead of one giant piece of pork belly! It had garlic and chiu chow chili oil! It was delicious and I finished every drop of my bowl! As an appetizer we decided to get the bbq pork belly buns on a steamed bun! They were super tasty and wonderful! It was so good! They were huge and had spicy mayo on them. The bun had a piece of cabbage and a cucumber spear on it! Each bite of the bun was delicious! The service was wonderful! Our waiter made sure we had everything we could want! The restaurant is kinda small inside, but it's a traditional ramen shop! I've never been in a ramen shop that's bigger than a counter and a few tables! This ramen shop also has a full bar for those who want a drink. They also give free ice! This is a big deal in Europe! I can't say enough good things about this place! Hands down this was amazing! I have nothing bad to say! After a cold day walking around London, the idea of a hot bowl of noodles sounded great. There was a bit of a line to get in so that was a good sign. Turns out this is a chain. To some, that's off putting or inauthentic. But when done in a respectful way - and tasty way, who cares? When you finally get called for saying they hit a drum and yell something that's supposed to be in Japanese. Cute and sets the Japanese motif. I like that you are able to request noodle doneness for the ramen. In general, I found the ramen (we tried two different ones) to be a little bland but otherwise really good. It had the nice soft boiled egg (but with a slightly reddish yolk). The BBQ pork bao was pretty delicious with a substantial piece of meat. The Soho platter was a pretty posh sampler of food including sashimi, tempura, and Kara age chicken for two. They even had a near-frozen Asahi beer that really hit the spot against the fatty broth of the ramen. We skipped the cocktails but they looked really delicious. We skipped dessert but overall, it was a pretty good meal and surprisingly inexpensive vs. expectations. Would definitely recommend this place for ramen cravings! read more

After the employees finally gathered themselves, we were sat down and ordered a couple ramens and a takoyaki. The takoyaki arrived first and it was too heavily breaded, the octopus was barely noticeable. There was also way too much of the bonita flakes on top - there wasn't even room for them to flap around. They have a great variety for you to choose from and everything was very fresh the broth and the meat are made here. The Ramen was Amazing! Fortunately, this location was a short walk, and there was no wait for the seat closest to the door. Since it was just me, and it was quite late, I ordered and ate quickly. I perused the menu and the reviews, and chose the Karaka Tan Tan Tonkotsu (minced pork marinated in white miso, garlic, and chiu chow chili oil, nitamago egg, kikurage mushrooms, spring onions, ginger, and nori). Not knowing the best way to eat the noodles, I went with the standard futsuu. Broth was flavorful, noodles were right toothiness for me, toppings were plentiful, egg was tasty. I underestimated the difficulty of eating minced pork with chopsticks and the curvature of the bowl, but the flavor was great. Maybe some day I can go back with friends to try more, as the Italians next to me had ordered the takoyaki, which looked delicious (both themselves and the expressions on the faces of the Italians). read more

Best Ramen ever!! Curiously, when taken apart the individual ingredients are really good, but not my favorite. I prefer thicker noodles, the perfect egg and more Kimchee. However, it is this combination that adds to perfection. I had the Spicy Seafood Tonkotsu. I am delighted by these scallops that have a firm texture and full-flavor (being used to farm-raised ones). The Ramen is not spicy and you can add chili oil and grind fresh sesame seed to taste. My companions have the pork version that they love. With a bit extra, you can have a Shoryu bun and a boozy cocktail with your meal. Great if you love Ramen! read more

Heatwave in London. Warmest summer ever and what better than a super hot face melting bowl of Ramen! Gambate! Itadakimaaaas! I peeked over the door noren and I see this place is packed already. I guess I wasn't the only one mad in the brain to eat hot ramen on a hot day. Anyhoo.. I held up 4 fingers and the hostess seemed to know I meant .. table for 4. So she led me to the tiniest of tables, crammed next to 2 of the tiniest of tables, and with a quick Hai Dozo.. I was left there. But,... but.... I mean.. people were already eating , and their bowls of ramen was perched on their tables, and I would most def, either knock their table over... or even worst.. go past the tables sideways and put my butt right over their table.. So I gave the hostess a helpless look.. ehh...sumimasen... but she looks away. Fine.. be like that.. so I proceed to wedge myself between table and takes seat.. So uncool. Tho my wife rolled her eyes at me. I needed ramen, I needed something to restore my center. The walking and sightseeing and meal decisions while visiting London has been exhausting. I needed ramen to get back to basic. We got us, Dracula Ramen, Regular Tonkotsu, I think there was Spicy Miso too. tldr;- None was spectacular. It wasn't bad. But it lacked an identity. The noodles was text book, the broth standard, the chashu pedestrian, the toppings bleh. In a sea of ramen.. Shoryu ramen did not stand out one bit. Service was so-so. Best Ramen I've had outside of Asia . I remember when I lived in Singapore I used to eat so much Ramen but then I left had found it tough to find something reminiscent. Well I've finally found it and I'm so thrilled. The menu is nice and simple with only delicious dishes. Service was outstanding and Giorgia, the manager of the Regent Street outlet is lovely as is her team. I've left the days of flashy restaurants behind and much prefer the chilled out relaxing environment like Shoryu Ramen. I'll be going back again and again and recommend you do the same. read more

Why is everything in london so expensive... Came to london for a vacation, mid week through our trip of course I start to crave asian food and whats better than a hot bowl of ramen? Shoryu specializes in tonkotsu soup base which is my favorite. They have different option for the thickness of the broth. If you are used to eating ramen def go with the rich broth option as their regular broth was a little on the bland side. I love the egg as its the perfect yolk consistency. Service was pretty good also, very fast and attentive. While the noodles are pretty good here, it is hard to stomach the fact that I spent almost $100 US dollars here for 2 bowls of ramen, 6pc gyoza and an icecream dessert. It cost like $30 for a bowl of ramen and $5 to add just an egg...if you are a local then definitely check out this place as their ramen is pretty good but if you are travelling from NY i would say to skip it and save the $. read more

I've been to many ramen places in southern California, which is crawling with Asian food places including ramen. While studying abroad I was really missing a dose of Asian food and had heard such good things and was so impressed with Shoryu! I think it's the best ramen I've had yet. Now that I'm back in the States, I find myself craving Shoryu all the time. I've had the original once in Carnaby, the signature ramen twice and the Dracula once on Regent St. All were so good! The broth is amazing and the egg. Ugh, the egg. Perfect. Just how it should be done! Having gone a few times, I found it not filling enough, so I recommend rationing your broth so you can get extra noodles if you're still hungry! The plum wine is also great. A really nice complement to the savoury noodles. I didn't liked Asian steamed buns growing up but the pork belly hirata buns changed my mind. So good! Next time I'm in London, definitely making a stop at one of my favorite trendy restaurants!! read more
