The Squamish Adventure Inn is one of them and the better of the three. We came here to stay a night and to get away from our busy schedule/ day. There were not a lot of rooms available at the time of booking. My friend booked the hotel/hostel. We got a private room in a shared room. We were in 208P and it was very interesting. When we entered the room 208 it has 6 bunkbeds shared with 6 people and on the side of the room there is another room labeled "P" and that was our private room. There is a bathroom and a shower room inside the room shared with everyone. The people in room 208 were very friendly and they were very young. I think many young people like to stay at this hotel after their Whistler trip, hiking trip and etc. We actually live around 40 mins away from Squamish but it was a very nice getaway for us to stay away from home. When we first checked in, we were given two pillow cases and a bedsheet. We had to make our own bed. This was quite interesting for me because I have never had to make my own bed when staying at a hotel. When we checked out, we had to remove the pillow cases and the bedsheet and drop those off in a bin located at the end of the hallway. This was the first time for me staying at a hostel. People were super friendly. There is a kitchen at this hostel and a comfy looking lounge area and kitchen sitting area. The downside is the interesting mattress. Because we were super tired and were only staying one night, it didn't really bothered us. The mattress feels like a trampoline. Yes, we giggled about it. Also, if you are staying here remember to bring your own towels. You can rent towels for a cost. Definitely a different and new experience for me. I do find that Parking is very limited. Luckily, I managed to find a parking spot here. I had a great time visiting Squamish and the best thing about this hotel/hostel is the location. It is just steps away from downtown. We were here on Feb 19, 2022. Family Day weekend.

I booked a private room for 4, which was labeled hotel-style with it's own private bathroom and it came out to about $100 with taxes for the 4 of us. I booked about 2 weeks in advance. I noticed after I got confirmation, that check-in was to be before 9 PM. Knowing we were going to be getting in a little later Thursday night, I emailed them saying we were going to pull in closer to 10 pm. They responded quickly via email saying that was not a problem. We pulled up to the hostel around 10:05 PM, I checked in, and the lady showed me the place real quick, and advised the common areas (ie kitchen, cafe, movie room) were closing at 11 PM. They actually gate it off so there is no access during off hours. Our room was cozy. The beds were a little hard for me liking, but the room was clean. They provided a small fan. The window did not have a screen, so we did not leave it open to widely. So the room was a little warmer than we would have liked. Bathroom had a blow dryer, but you can only use it on low settings, so it's kinda pointless to use it. Notes say that if you use the high setting you will blow a fuse. Wifi was weak. The lady told us we could park at the entrance of the hostel on the road. So limited parking space. Cool that they had a slack line to play with and the property is on the river. Overall, if I was in the area again, I would book this place again!

This is a family run motel situated in front of the man-made lagoon in Harrison. You are right next…read moreto places like Red Fort Restaurant and Lakefront Cafe. This is not a bad location considering everything is walking distance. Moreover, we were able to find free parking easily (free after 7pm spots directly in front of motel). The cost totalled $522, two nights, for a two bedroom (four queen sized beds), full kitchen (stove, fridge, sink, with muffin tin and tiny baking sheet, frying pan), and two bathrooms. Moreover, they marketed that they charge an extra $65 approx for each additional person. $89(per night) x 2 nights = $178 $68 x 5 = $325 This concept of charging per additional person makes little sense, as they purposefully gave us four beds. It appears they charge per person, on top of the cost of the suite. I was also told that if the suite wasn't clean, they would charge us an additional $75 penalty. Now, this place is extremely dirty. Our bathroom sink was stained with rust, there was dirt all along the moulding of the suite. The sheets would make your skin itch. The suite smelled of mould, and would soon smell of sweat and feel muggy, as it gets very hot. A friend of mine walked into the sliding door (knee first) and instantly smashed the single pane window. My friend had to have 6 stitches on their forehead. When the paramedic arrived, he was baffled at how this had occurred as single pane windows are not regulation. I bet he is expecting to be coming back here in the near future for another poor guest that will need stitches. The Wife of the owner asked us to put up cardboard boxes for the remainder of our trip. Afterwards, she said that she under charged us at $432 and would need to charge us an additional $87. This is shady because it happened shortly after we broke the glass. We were never given garbage bags to clean our suite. We were not given toilet paper either. I understand that we are trying to save a dollar by going to this Motel, but basic living materials should not be some thing we have to ask for. The outlets were virtually none existent. There's a clock radio, lamp, fan and there are only two outlets that are inconveniently placed in the bedroom. We ended up desperately using these outlets to charge our phones. The Wifi also does not work in the bedrooms. My friends and I came here to swim in the lake and party in Harrison. A friend of mine fell in the bath tub (no shower mat) at 11pm and the Wife knocked on our door and asked what was going on. We told her our friend accidentally fell. The Wife then replied, "no noise after 11pm" -- on a Friday night? We weren't even playing music. Like I said earlier, this is family run, so there does come some shame as you're playing competitive beer pong at 9pm, and you know the Owner's children are sleeping downstairs. I don't think we will be returning to this motel, specifically, even though we had a wonderful time and created tons of fun memories. There are nicer places in Harrison, ones that would match the price you are paying; cleaner and would not have arbitrary charges on your bill. This is simply not the nicest motel. For that amount, you may be better off checking into a Hotel or head on camping to Sasquatch.

As for the motel itself, it is very outdated, like its still in the late 70s or early 80s. Our room was clean but I found a towel hanging behind the bathroom door. I had a feeling it shouldn't have been there. Free wi-fi though not the greatest. Overall it was a decent stay here.

The bathrooms have a lot of toilet tissue on the floors and they have signs that ask them to be notified if it's not clean but I didn't have time to wait. I didn't take a shower because there wasn't a lot of space to put my stuff down in a clean area. The bathrooms are shared, but they do have a really great mirror to put on make up. Extremely cramped living quarters with very little space to put luggage down. They require you to buy a lock for $8.95 if you want to stow valuables and it's a big bulky lock, that's heavy and you probably don't want to buy (wish they would rent the locks because I have no other use for this bulky thing). The worst part is the stairs... It would be a great work out, except that it's super annoying when you have heavy luggage to carry upstairs multiple flights of floors. There is no elevator, there is no AC, you better arrive tired because it's pretty loud at night. This hostel is 3 stars imo but I gave them an extra star because their staff is super friendly, it's a good location, their breakfast is convenient (fresh bagels with fruits and vegetables), and Vancouver needs more budget-friendly options.

I'm a very calm, sweet and good looking young woman and I'm not going to be humble about it. There was no reason for that bald male receptionist to be that rude to me given all the sketchy ppl that usually go to Ocean Beach. If you're a nice female customer, I would look for a safer location, and would never put your safety at risk on that place. The customer that was there was looking at me like he wanted to apologize for the receptionist's rudeness. It was really bad. I understand that ppl are not allowed inside to see the place for safety issues, but there are way kinder ways of saying it to a potential future customer. I can't stand when people in low paid jobs act like they have power (small power) and decide to be rude to kind people like me, and they do that with a big and ugly gummy smile on their faces. It's so petty!
