Wow This place looks…read morelike an abandoned mall from a zombie movie. There's some little food shops near the opening that are still operating. And there's a barber shop inside and the people in the barber shop were really nice. There is a small variety of fast fashion stores inside. My guess is the people local to this area stop and grab what they need and go. But the exterior and the way people are parked in front and the mall at the curb... security (I think they were security) just casually and unprofessionally hanging out. This mall is not somewhere you want to stop unless you're going to a specific store to get a specific thing. You wouldn't want to just stop here to browse at all.

My favorites spots are Milano's and Macy's The mall has had well publicized incidents of crime but I felt pretty safe upon my recent visit and saw an ample presence of security.

This mall has seen better days as far as occupancy is concerned. It once had a very diverse selection of stores to choose from. Now days, not so much. Dillards is still here and it is still a good Dillards. You have no problems finding some help, getting what you need. It's probably the best Dill's around. I am glad it's still here because the side it's on is like 20% full at the most. It was bought recently and is trying really hard, but I don't know man. They are leasing to some strange tenants, like taekwondo and karate studios, and a (swear to god) Slime store. Like you make slime there. That is the whole thing. The old Macy's is now some scary furniture store. I think there are at least 4-9 squatters in that mug. Milano's is even gone now!!!! What???!!!! Why????? I'm seriously going to cry. Not many, if any original remain. Billy Joel, The Beatles, and Wang Chung played at Lafayettes long ago, now they are about to close again it seems. Hell, there was a TGIF Fridays here back in the 1800's when Memphis was a saloon town. No one could get past the river for years, so they were just kind of stuck. That is how the Bass Pro Shop Pyramid was built. They were going to try and jump the river by chariot from there to go further west. Great success. Look at California now! All lit up! Weee I am so glad to still have the diversity of shops to still choose from in this block. You can get just about anything on foot around here. In the daylight, at least. Fish. Creole. Cajun. Beer. Candy. Sandwiches. Bacon on a clothes pin. Table side guac. Tacos. Booze. Pizza. Oysters. Bars. Hiking gear. Second Line and Swamp Bar. Ballet. Art. Local theater. Alternate medicines. Incense. Sky bars. Hotels. Hair dos. I bet you can even get cocaine for the low if you ask the right folks. I love Memphis so much. Eat. Drink. Shop. Be Merry. Tip your wait staff. My favorite shops/stops: Bookstar Old Navy Spin Street, Kroger K&G McAlister's Deli Dollar Tree Shelby County Clerk's Office (for my once a year tag renewal) It would be nice if they'd update the plaza with better landscaping, greenery and fountains (ala Carriage Crossing).

Local Lime and City Silo are both fun and delicious places to eat at now. Due to its popularity, on some weekends it's well nigh impossible to find an open parking spot. So, my family and I have adapted to patronizing this area during the middle of the work week. I really like the collection and variety here, and recommend this shopping center as a relatively safe and high-quality location.
