Amy Spector has been the worst lawyer I've ever had to deal with. Amy will not fight for your parental rights and will only go along with the opposing parties lawyer. Amy will bill you to death for minimal work by her or her office. You will do 90% of the work and still get billed for nothing done by her. there were times that she would never respond to an email until I followed up with it. we had court and I had equations and emailed her, and never received a response until the day of the hearing. I will end up paying her more than $6000+ to her office for very little representation. I would have been better saving my money and representing myself as I would of gotten the same outcome.. Don't waste your time or money.. now as a disabled veteran I have to pay this lady 3k more and not sure what she actually did. read more

I retained Amy for my divorce case & she was fantastic. She is an expert in Illinois Family Law, and helped advise me to build out a settlement agreement that is in the best interest of my children. She knows the law very well and operates at all times in the best interest of the children. She also works proactively with other attorneys involved when applicable. Worst Attorney I've Encountered Review of Amy Spector, Lawyer: A Disastrous Experience I cannot express enough how utterly disappointing and infuriating my experience with Amy Spector has been. She has proven to be completely unprofessional, negligent, and a complete embarrassment to the legal profession. Here's a summary of why I would never recommend her to anyone: Missed Meetings: Amy failed to show up to several scheduled meetings. Not once, not twice, but multiple times. I was left in the dark, having to reschedule on short notice with no apology or explanation. Dodged Calls and Avoided Emails: Communication was virtually impossible. She regularly ignored phone calls and emails, leaving me with unanswered questions and no guidance. When I finally did get a response, it was either vague or unhelpful. Conflict of Interest: Amy seemed more friendly with opposing counsel than with her own client--me. It was clear she had a personal rapport with the other side, which made me feel like my interests were secondary. This lack of loyalty and professionalism was disturbing. Complete Unfamiliarity with the Case: It was painfully obvious that Amy did not understand the details of my case. She frequently asked me to explain the basics, which should have been her job to know inside and out. It felt like I was educating her, not the other way around. Egregious and Offensive Language in Court: Her behavior in court was completely unacceptable. Amy used offensive and unprofessional language, even directing some of it toward me, her own client. The way she spoke to me was disrespectful, belittling, and outright cruel at times. To say she lacked a basic understanding of courtroom decorum is an understatement. Disrespect for Both Client and Court: Amy's attitude toward both her clients and the court was appalling. She was late to hearings, showed no respect for the process, and acted as though her time was more important than anyone else's. It was embarrassing to watch her in action. Failure to Share Key Court Dates: On more than one occasion, Amy failed to inform me of important court dates. I had to find out about them last minute, which caused unnecessary stress and confusion. This lack of attention to detail is inexcusable for any attorney. Late to Court: Amy was frequently late to court hearings and never offered a satisfactory explanation for her tardiness. Her lack of punctuality not only showed a lack of respect for the court, but also reflected poorly on me as her client. An Embarrassment to the Legal Profession: Simply put, Amy Spector does not belong in the legal field. Her lack of professionalism, incompetence, and disregard for client interests make her a liability. She has no place representing anyone, let alone handling important legal matters. I would strongly urge anyone considering hiring Amy Spector to look elsewhere. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a professional, and I am left questioning how someone like her could practice law at all. I scheduled a consult for a divorce and paid $100. Amy was not prepared for our meeting. She asked what the consult was about after sending me a form requesting every single personal detail about my husband and I's life (how much money we have in our bank accounts including our social security numbers which were required). It took at least 20-30 minutes to complete and she didn't read it and refused to acknowledge any of the information or speak with me about my situation. She came across as a used car salesman and only gave me basic info anyone can get off the internet or any well experienced attorney's website. She refused to answer any questions about my situation without paying her $3000/hiring her. The consult lasted 12 minutes and I didn't have any new info than before. I consulted with an attorney in 2011. She spoke to me like a human being, answered all my questions regarding my situation, and demonstrated care about me. This is why I hired her and paid a retainer. I eventually recended it unfortunately. But this is what I expected this time around. I have consulted attorneys on other legal matters and was never told they couldn't answer my questions without being hired. Amy is a joke. Please don't waste your time on this inexperienced and unethical attorney. read more

Just like David H comment. I trusted her because I knew she knew my ex-wife attorney. I believed her when she said she doesn't mixed friendships with her clients however, I felt like Ms. Spector had little consideration for my case, and at times I felt she was working on my ex-wife's behalf with her friend / co-worker Ms. Nolan by allowing my case to be prolonged. Me and my ex had signed an agreement and the Judge wasn't aware of it because it was never presented. I found this out towards the end of my case. Poor communication, inadequate office personnel with low customer service skills that don't relay information to opposing counsel by deadline. Had to point out and spell out mistakes made by lawyer and staff and get billed for it. Promises to fight for client but doesn't deliver. read more
