Mina, and her makeup artist, Luis, made me feel comfortable with the whole experience. It felt like I was getting the princess treatment between having my hair and makeup done, and getting to choose from the beautiful client lingerie collection. Once it was time for the photoshoot to begin, Mina was great at showing me how to pose, and made sure to fix my hair or pose so she could get the best pictures possible. Mina edited the photos from my session, and they turned out incredibly beautiful! I am so happy with them! I bought two amazingly priced Groupons from Ali and called her up to schedule. Twice. The first time, she was unorganized, didn't know her own schedule, and couldn't be bothered to look up her availability for me. She didn't take my info and told me I should call back next week. Take two: I called her back and the on site boudoir photoshoot I was supposed to be booking just sounded totally inconvenient to her. //Well we might be able to do it, but I'd have to charge you more. Well not just the mileage/on-site fee, I'd have to charge you a whole different rate bc it would interrupt business.// I've gotten warmer service from postal worker in a blizzard. Believe me, I understand that businesses need to make money, but the whole point of a deal like this is to get ppl in the door and addicted to your services. (My groupon-found salon owns me...for life) But Ali was unwelcoming, unhelpful, and borderline downright rude. She told me they could get me in if I just came in to do the shoot. Bottom line: come in, here's your hour, take your clothes off, GO. That's not sexy. It does make for a happy female client excited to make a Valentine's present for her hubby. It makes for a girl calling up groupon and cancelling her order. Oh, and I have modelling experience also...so Ali is not the first photographer I've worked with, just the least pleasant to deal with.

Personally, I have never had a male boudoir photographer and decided to give Mark a try. I recently had surgery and this was my first boudoir shoot after recovery, so this was a special occasion! Booking and completing the online consultation was easy. I had the advantage of already being familiar with boudoir, but for anyone who is hesitant to try for whatever reason, the virtual consult is sure to put your nerves at ease. My first impression of Mark was that he is very professional and respectful. You can tell that his mission is clear and he wants his clients to have full control over what they want out of boudoir. Everything was explained clearly and I was left with zero questions. On the date of the shoot, I was able to find Mark's studio with ease. There is ample parking as it is in a neighborhood, and the unit itself is located in a gated condo community. He came down to greet me. Upon entering the unit, I was greeted by his makeup artist and she got straight to work while Mark went upstairs to give us privacy. Both Mark and the artist made me feel very comfortable and, bonus points -gave me deejay power. The makeup artist was very flexible and didn't ask a slew of questions when I told her that I didn't have any expectations. I don't own a lot of makeup and wearing it is even more rare, so it was a nice change of pace to have someone truly use my face as a canvas. I am super pleased with the results and was able to wear it to dinner that same night! As for the shoot itself, Mark conveyed his instructions well while considering what I wanted from the shoot. At no point did I feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or insecure. He encouraged taking my time and didn't force me to do anything that I didn't want to do or was physically incapable of doing because holy cow -boudoir is a workout. Anyway, it took a little while for photo editing but it was worth the wait! An additional appointment was required for the reveal, and it was very challenging to pick my favorites since Mark did an amazing job. As for payment, Mark was super patient and understanding with me despite a few financual curveballs. Once paid in full, I received my boudoir photos, elegantly displayed in a photo album. The extra goodies (chocolate and a yeti cup) lends a luxurious feel, all packaged in a gift bag. Everything was so well done! I am pleased to report that the entire process from start to finish was effortless, and I highly recommend Dream In Blue Photography!
