I don't know exactly how it happened, but my wife and I ended up having stupid amounts of fun for what was supposed to be just a cute/rustic place to crash (we're millennial garbage.) I'll relay our stay in chronological order: We're on a two week vacation and this was the most communicative place by far in terms of emails of what to expect. There's no cell service there and the wifi is only good for email/text so we came prepared for that. The drive is about 14 minutes of gravel road and there's a winding path that you'll either find fun to drive or will be slightly scary. We went to the lobby to check in, and I was blown away by the amount of time and attention we got for directions, amenities, travel and national park tidbits, and my stupid rando questions. I am not used to that at all when it comes to air bnb's, hotels, and the like. We chatted about our travel circumstances and the front desk person sent someone to deliver some extras we didn't intend to ask for. Made the stay a lot less fussy on our long travel/ There was a mix up on the exact rental type that might annoy some people, but I don't think we would have even noticed with the room quality we got. Either way, the retreat made it right beyond what we would have expected. The property is beautiful. I ran around everywhere taking picture like a coke-head asking for spare change. There was a moderate difficulty hike up the canyon wall that I did. Good views. Almost got lost. We came back to our rooms which were nice. The bed was super comfortable and we slept well. There were a lot of other patrons around the patios and Porches drinking various sorts of booze and clearly having a blast. Was a good atmosphere (but surprisingly very quiet at night.) We had intended to go to town for dinner, but we reconsidered since it seemed so pleasant to have dinner and a drink on our porch. So instead we went to the main office store and raided it like fat children with mini red Barron pizzas, burritos, booze, and a microwave meal. The stuff was surprisingly good quality and tasty (especially the premixed bourbon drink!!!!). I'm still fiendin' after one of them green hatch chilli burritos. Yum. Ended up seeing deer which approached within 15 feet of us, apparently not giving an F. Saw some sheep and cows and chickens. It's a real ranch in a real canyon. We ended the night at the gas fire pit. FYI gotta hold the button for 20 seconds after you light it. There's a pool and a hot tub which we did not use. I got up to do star gazing but the moon set at a stupidly late time that night, so I could only barely see the Milky Way. Seems like it would be a star bonanza on the right lunar cycle. The next day we were on our way to Great Basin (drove in from Bryce Canyon) and didn't have to checkout at the office.

A lovely, peaceful and well thought out retreat. The canyon is an oasis with a rushing creek, ponds and cascades. We sway wild turkey, mule deer, ducks, swallows, and the ranch dog even took us for a walk. We were a family of 4 adults in a 1king/2 queen suite. Rooms are spotless, lots of cooking options (induction surface, convection oven/air fryer, microwave, toaster, stocked Keurig) and comfortable beds. Pool is lap size and also a great place for stargazing. Game room was nice although do the jigsaw puzzles at your own risk - the one we tried (golden retriever) had BOTH missing and extra pieces for insanity mode. The token system for the market is awesome - we came prepared with a cooler of food so we used our tokens for things like ice cream, frozen pizza and mixed drinks. Staff were all friendly and helpful. The only downside is the lack of internet (the visitor center at Lehman Caves has great signal though) but if that's a deterrent this is not the place for you. That's what the "retreat" in the name is for. Would definitely come again.
