The view of the water is unbeatable (and when the tide is out you can walk down and stroll along the ocean shore!). We love these so much that we've been there twice in the last month. Economy isn't too far from Halifax, so you don't feel like you're killing much time in travel. But it's far enough that you feel like you're far from home and away from it all. There are three Bernese Mountain Dogs that roam the property and love making friends with guests. The owners are friendly, and the duty manager Warren couldn't possibly be more helpful and happy to make your stay the best possible. I really can't recommend these cottages highly enough. Give them a try, you won't regret it!

We happened upon this place only to find them full. The people were so nice, and after some calls they found us a place in Parrsboro. We were impressed with the place and decided to return the next day for a night. That one extra day turned into three extra days. The cabins are very well equipped, clean and reasonably priced. It's right on the bay and the tides are amazing. We definitely plan to return some day.

I used to love staying at Irwin lake, stayed there 5 times in the last year alone. Brought many…read morepeople to stay. The last time with new owners was not only terrible but terrifying. I booked to stay in a 2 bedroom. When I called to confirm the month before, they advised me that I was actually in the new 1 bedroom (that was not available when I booked) The day I was leaving they called to advise there was a "plumbing issue" and I would be staying in even a smaller room. I did not complain one time. Friday afternoon someone had gone to the front office to ask which cabin I was staying in and they told this person which cabin I was in. Friday night when my husband was alone as he did not feel good, during this time someone showed up at the door to advise there was also a plumbing issue in this cabin and we have to get out ASAP. When he asked where we being moved, he advised that the person who rented would get an email, which I never did. I got back to my cabin and my husband and my dog are gone. I finally get him back to the cabin to advise I never got an email. Saturday morning while getting ready for the rodeo in Truro, the cleaning team advised we had to leave as they had someone else booked in for the night, we had an hour to leave and find a hotel to stay in last minute. When I emailed to advise of how disappointed I was, they offered nothing barely even an apology. I have emailed them numerous times to get my deposits back for the stay i canceled in 2026 and they still have not reached out to me. Place has gone downhill and is no longer a safe and peaceful environment. I have filed a claim with small claims court with them.

I am currently involved in a Yoga Program that requires me to observes 24hrs of silence at some point during the course. No radio, internet, TV, talking---notta. What better spot came to mind then Irwin Lakes! My husband and I have been here 2 other times and just loved it. The chalets are rustic but equip with everything you would need. They are nestled in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by trees and wooded area. And the view---overlooking the lake. Stunning. They have 1 bedroom chalets and and even 2 bdrm. Some larger then others, some have hot tubs even. Irwin Lakes is reasonably priced and such a great spot. I recommend to so many people!! If you havent experienced you should!

The property is beautiful and extremely well maintained. I loved the fact it was slightly out of town and provided an idyllic country setting. Driving into town for dinner and sightseeing took less than five minutes, so we got the best of both worlds. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The bed was exquisite and we slept very well.

The tea room was closed during our visit.
