We use 30 amp - that connection was positioned at 45 degrees, so hubby had to try up ours because we use a "Progressive" brand system management box and it's weight was to heavy to hold at that angle ( not all were set up with that power station, but many were). My biggest issue was with their WiFi, if you went to their library (a small building in the middle of the park), you could use free WiFi. If you wanted to use it on site, there was a $2 fee - per device. When I checked in I asked about the WiFi- the very sweet gal at the sign in desk said not to worry, she was putting us so near the library that we could use the free connection ( maybe she meant we were close enough that going to the little building wouldn't be too far, I took it for we would have WiFi in our RV). Well the WiFi signal from the library, which we were very close too, stunk!! We couldn't open a single webpage! So, since we both like to be "connected" my hubby went and paid an extra $4 so that we both had Internet access. The signal strength was very impressive - too bad that it was no better than the weak library signal we had tried unsuccessfully before!! Ugh!! Just say you don't offer WiFi!! I would not be so frustrated!! And, if you are going to charge for something that must campgrounds give away - you better make sure it works!! (No, we didn't ask for our money back - as Americans traveling in a foreign Country, we didn't want to caused bad feelings. Maybe we should have, but we were very frustrated and decided to let it go.) As for the good, great, clean showers and laundry facilities- very well thought out!! And, the little library, has lots of "take one, leave one" books. Comfy chairs and a desk. As I said, I wish I could give them a better review!! But if you don't need or want to be as connected as we like to be, and you don't mind treeless lots - go for it!! The people are great!!

There was four groups doing tandem skydiving when we arrived and we were the third group up. The instruction given beforehand was fantastic and done in a very lighthearted way so that everybody was put at ease. When it came time for us to take our turn, they helped get us all geared up. From there we were on the plane and we had an amazing trip up. The scenery is absolutely spectacular and one of the instructors did a great job speaking to my daughter before hand to keep her at ease. When it was time to jump everything went extremely smooth and it was the rush of a lifetime. The first couple seconds in freefall it's like nothing you've ever experienced especially with the ground coming rushing up at you. However, everything is done extremely professionally and once the shoot was pulled we floated our way down. The two people running this even come close enough for my daughter and I to wave at each other. It was the experience of a lifetime. I would absolutely recommend this to anybody. If you're going to do this, spend the extra to have it recorded. It would definitely be worth it.

You have two options: a five-hour training class so you can jump solo or a 30-minute session so you can jump tandem. Tandem does cost more but you get to go higher and are in and out a lot faster. Solo costs less and you can jump again for only a fraction of the price. I've actually gone twice. The first time, I took the training session. It was very complete; I truly felt confident for my first jump. The downside was having to wait. They only have two small planes and one was in for its annual checkup. The first time: Stepping out of the plane (no jumping here - you basically hang onto the wing of the plane until you're cleared to jump), I did have that moment of "Well, now this is clearly insane." Once I let go, however, I found it almost relaxing; just a nice gentle drift to the ground - no crazy stunt attempts for me! Safety is emphasized here (which you'd expect/hope). You are trained how to correct most of the common challenges; you have a back-up chute; you have an automated chute if you are unable for some reason to pull your own and a one-way radio so they can guide you down. When you're done, you receive a certificate of completion and an invitation to come back. The second time: This time I brought my friend Holly who wanted to try the tandem. I had contacted the owner/lead instructor in advance to confirm he could tandem with a blind diver. While he never had, he welcomed the challenge and was fantastic in person! He and Holly hit it off and she had a great time. Before I went up again, I got a crash (sorry) course to remind me of the key processes. Then up I went! More adventurous this time, I did some tight spins and had a blast. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a little adventure.

Nice buildings, open space, and lots of activities for kids (such as mini golf, an outdoor pool, a slip-and-slide, badminton, volleyball, tractor ride, playground, and a barn yard with a few sheeps, a rabbit, and a donkey). Campsites with and without service were between $25-35, Firewood was $6, Ice was $2.25, and there were various treats and about a dozen flavours of ice cream to choose from ($2-3 scoops). All in all it looked good, but it was the personality of one of the owners (Jim Yorke) which really spoiled our stay. For instance, when we asked for ice we were told they were "sold out" yet 10 minutes later, as I was walking back, I saw the owner delivering bags of ice to one of their "seasonal" campers (in other words, there wasn't any ice for us "non-seasonal" campers). Then, we asked 2 good friends from Debert to come and join us for an hour by our campfire, and they were met by the owner who said they had to pay to visit. Since they came with no money on hand, and were only staying an hour, they tried to explain, but the own snarled back with a demeaning tone and said "that'd your problem, have a nice day." What a way to treat the locals, eh? Gee, and with that...you get the picture. they were not accomodating, or even polite. Aside from the personalities....I had 2 more recommendations to improve upon their camping experience for others in the cuture: - They need to clean their bathrooms, and maintain them! All weekend the first stall in the womens bathroom had a broken lock, and the second stall (of 3) never held toilet paper. The showers and the toilets were located in 2 seperate buildings....terribly inconvenient, and 2 out of my 3 showers (taken at night) were with ice cold water. - An "ADULT SWIM" needs to take place for an hour in the late afternoon or evening. The pool never emptied, and there was a continuous steam of 3 or 4 doxen kids at all times. I don't mind swimming with children, but when they continuously jump and splash, it takes all the relaxation out of the swim. Biggest complaint: BE KIND TO YOUR OCCASSIONAL CAMPERS. As occassionals (and not one of their regular "seasonal" campers) we were made to feel second rate, and we are not eagre to come back anytime soon. Back to Scotia Pine we'll go!

In any event who needs internet because there is so much to do outside and in the rec hall.

The view of the water is unbeatable (and when the tide is out you can walk down and stroll along the ocean shore!). We love these so much that we've been there twice in the last month. Economy isn't too far from Halifax, so you don't feel like you're killing much time in travel. But it's far enough that you feel like you're far from home and away from it all. There are three Bernese Mountain Dogs that roam the property and love making friends with guests. The owners are friendly, and the duty manager Warren couldn't possibly be more helpful and happy to make your stay the best possible. I really can't recommend these cottages highly enough. Give them a try, you won't regret it!

We happened upon this place only to find them full. The people were so nice, and after some calls they found us a place in Parrsboro. We were impressed with the place and decided to return the next day for a night. That one extra day turned into three extra days. The cabins are very well equipped, clean and reasonably priced. It's right on the bay and the tides are amazing. We definitely plan to return some day.
