Varying locations, one campsite each location (except Lake Erie Bluffs, they have 2 sites a good distance from each other. We've been to two sites already and going to a third this weekend. Mentor Marsh is located close to Headlands Beach so you can get here easily from there. Around here it's much quieter than at the beach. This attracts mosquitos so use bug spray. Entrance is hard to find. It has a parking lot next to the nature center, which is an old house. There's a few trails to choose from. Kerven Trail takes you around the marsh area. There's a large open area once you get out of the woods. If it has rained recently, this place is pretty damp. There also will be lots of mosquitos. It's a marsh after all. The trails are kept pretty clean and clear. It overall is a nice place when you want to get away from the beach. It's larger than it looks. The trails will also take you to the beach if you feel like going all that way.

There's a bathroom that only kind of smells. Close by is the lighthouse. It has a small museum. This area would seem to attract many tourists. It however doesn't seem that crowded. Most people are on the beach but but that many though. It seems cleaner than many beaches. The sand doesn't have a lot of cigarette butts and litter. It's kept clean pretty good. The water is kind of murky but it's apparently safe. Along with the beach is the park. There's some great views. It seems like a safe area. There's usually someone on patrol. It has a public bathroom. It doesn't reek of piss. They charge for parking but you can park for free on a side street.

It never ceases to amaze. The parking is never ending. The beach goes on forever. There is an abundance of picnic areas, grills, pavilions, and public bathrooms. The walking trails are more than a mile long. And then there is the lake... that big beautiful lake. It is just a fantastic place to spend a day. Go with friends. Take your kids and grandkids. Or just go by yourself and enjoy the sand. It really is fantastic.

Wednesday nights are gazebo concerts, Thursdays during the day are farmers markets and Fridays are car cruise nights. Mature trees and beautiful civil war monument make this a great spot for lunch.
