I'm not from the area and I only came here once at the end of September, so this review could be a bit biased as when I visited the park, there were only a few people. For children, there is much to do. -Most impressive is the rope course which is seasonally operated. The one hour rope course session is free to Geauga County Residents but a $20 fee applies to non-Geauga residents. Unfortunately because I visited in the off season, I was not able to see the course in operation. From the looks of it, a variety of platforms are about 30 or-so-feet with a variety of different obstacles. Upon completion there is a 100ft long zip-line the brings you back down. - A one way only "pump track" is also located in the park and is free to use. For those who may not know, pumping is a technique used by mountain bikers to navigate without pedaling. The trail is 2,025 feet long. - There is a bouldering wall that is 12 feet high and plenty of surface area to try a navigate it completely around. There is also a smaller playground for smaller children that has a canoe sand box and a faux wood log tunnel. Two man made ponds are in the park and are stocked with fish, large mouth bass and Bluegill. A few platforms with benches are located around the ponds. There are 3 trails at this park. There is the White Tail Trail which is of asphalt and is 0.6 miles long, great for those with strollers or wheelchairs. The Drake Trail is 0.5 miles long and is made up of gravel. The Tree Trapper Trail is 1.1 miles long and is made up of gravel. There is a lodge that can be reserved in advanced for private events. It has wifi, Max capacity for 99 people. Eight conference-sized tables with seating for 64 (dining chairs with backs), three high-top/serving tables with seating for 12 (stools, no backs), and two lounge chairs with a coffee table in front of the fireplace. Restrooms are also available with water, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, sink and ample counter space with outlets. Although there is no cooking inside, a grill is located right behind the Lodge. I think the reservation pricing may vary but a quick look on the website has the following prices on their reservation page; Out-of-County Fee: $90.00-Geauga County Resident Fee:$55.00- Seasonal Surcharge: $ 10.00. All in all I am fairly impressed with this family orientated park.

The toilets at the campsite were cleaned out every morning we were there. It also felt safe, it gave a sense of being more remote because of the tree density, but not so much that I was worried about anything. The lake is beautiful, they had kayaking available which was fun! No swimming in the lake though. But there were plenty of of other campers who were out fishing at the lake. I would definitely recommend camping here! I wish we could have checked out more of the trails around. Overall rating: 5/5 stars

Which was kind of a bummer because I wanted to try it. Overall the cabin that we had our picnic in was clean and well kept. This place is great for fishing, hiking and canoeing. It looks like you are able to rent the canoes to go fishing on the lake or bring your own. The boathouse wasn't open to find out any more info on this campsite but I would recommend taking a look at it.

This is located off Lost Nation Road in Willoughby. A lot of good things to do here. It has some great trails for exercise or sightseeing. The best is the one that goes over the river, where you can get a good view. A popular place is the picnic areas. These are located close to the parking lots so you don't have to go far to haul things. It has a few parking lots but these are small so it these get filled up fast. This is why it's good to bring a bike here. It always is enjoyable in good weather here to walk around. It's mostly a very safe park. The best thing are the views.

The well maintained shelter and bath house were constructed in the 1930's by the local CCC Corp. The lake was also developed at that time to offer the local population an accessible recreational area during the Great Depression. Currently, the lake is stocked with several local species of catfish, blue gill and bass. What a peaceful, zen atmosphere! Fall is definitely the time of year to visit with the display of Nature's Colors.

This is a review of several trails in the reservation. Please see the many photos I uploaded that…read moredon't appear below but appear in the photos for this site. I started on the Buckeye Trail at SOM Center Rd and Hawthorne Parkway (the road was blocked there due to a downed tree). I followed the Buckeye trail to the Hatchet Ridge trail where I circled the Henry Church Rock Loop and headed back to my starting place along the Buckeye trail. It was about 4.5 mile loop The Buckeye Trail is some asphalt and some dirt and small rocks. It is easy to follow and well marked. It follows some of the BridleTrail which horses can trek. I saw many runners on this trail. It was mostly shaded and wide enough at points for three people to walk side by side. It was an easy trail. I saw people of all ages on this trail and families. The Hatchet trail and the portion of the Henry Church Rock trail that runs along the river is "somewhat dangerous" according to a gentleman probably in his 60's who stopped to give me directions. The trail is narrow (enough for people to pass each other) and a dirt path with some rocks and roots along the way. All under the shade of the trees. To get down to the river you have to descended several flights of stairs. See my attached pics for elevation rise and fall on the trail. There are several Emergency Location stations along the path so you can share your exact location to EMS in an. I saw lots of people walking along the river shores, wading through the water, swimming with their families, and even jumping from the top of the water fall. It looked like the kids and adults were having a blast in the water and exploring the area. It was a very warm day when I went and the Henry Church Rock area was busy with hikers and kids. The Buckeye trail was quiet. The area is busy with walkers, runners, hikers, families, and bicycles. It's fun and relaxing trail.

We are very fortunate to have a nice lake like this located down the road from us. The employees are always very helpful and pleasant. You can buy an annual pass and take your boat out whenever you want during the open season!! Their days and hours have changed because of Covid so I'm not sure of them off hand. This lake to me is is just the right size where it isn't too big and it's not too small!! I like being able to see land so anywhere on this lake you can see land. It isn't crowded so you feel like you are out there by yourself. It is very peaceful as quiet. You just hear the birds, the sound of water and of course your bait hitting the water after you cast your line :-) Maybe we will see ya out there!!

It never ceases to amaze. The parking is never ending. The beach goes on forever. There is an abundance of picnic areas, grills, pavilions, and public bathrooms. The walking trails are more than a mile long. And then there is the lake... that big beautiful lake. It is just a fantastic place to spend a day. Go with friends. Take your kids and grandkids. Or just go by yourself and enjoy the sand. It really is fantastic.

The bathrooms are spotless. The beach has runners for wheelchairs. The break wall creates a safe water environment for every watersport. The expansive beach is great for strolling. And there is always room. If you want to enjoy Lake Erie, try "Fairport Harbor".

There's a bathroom that only kind of smells. Close by is the lighthouse. It has a small museum. This area would seem to attract many tourists. It however doesn't seem that crowded. Most people are on the beach but but that many though. It seems cleaner than many beaches. The sand doesn't have a lot of cigarette butts and litter. It's kept clean pretty good. The water is kind of murky but it's apparently safe. Along with the beach is the park. There's some great views. It seems like a safe area. There's usually someone on patrol. It has a public bathroom. It doesn't reek of piss. They charge for parking but you can park for free on a side street.
