The couple that runs this place is lovely, we had a very nice 3 course homemade breakfast and stayed in the Woodland view room. We were there for our wedding night and the day before and also spent time in their spa the morning after. The morning of our wedding we went out onto the private balcony overlooking the forest full of wildlife and beautiful bird calls, we sat in the chairs and said our private vows to each other. It made our day so relaxing and easy and everyone staying there was so sweet and happy for us. The spa was super cool! They also have this foot massager that was so nice for the morning after because my feet were hurting!! The hot tub was the best but the sauna and steamroom were also so relaxing. Overall this place is great and we saw all types of people staying there, an anniversary trip, a babymoon, not just for your wedding. But it was super romantic. This was the perfect place for us to have our baby-moon! I can't wait to come back for our own getaway in the future. The house is gorgeous and set up to be very welcoming. We enjoyed the spa time without electronics. I couldn't do many of the heated features but I really enjoyed just reading in the window seat and my husband really enjoyed all of it. We also enjoyed hiking along the trail around the property and the questions that were on signs as we walked. And it was so much fun to come home in the evening and see the fire pit aglow and get to sit around that and talk with other guests. And then there is the breakfast. It is AMAZING! Such a nice set up with the owners sharing their special ingredients that are homegrown or made by fresh produce. I would come back for the food alone! We stayed in the quiet oaks room and enjoyed it immensely. The heated bathroom floors, the record player, the mirrored TV (we didn't use it but thought it was so clever), comfortable bed, and the overall ambiance. We live in the city of chicago and the drive was very easy and a totally manageable distance. We definitely hope to be back and make this a regular getaway for ourselves! read more

Sally and Chris were fantastic hosts for this bed and breakfast; they were very welcoming and great to talk with. The room (Timber Trails) we stayed in was very nice having a comfortable king bed and large shower. The breakfasts each day were delicious and prepared with a personal touch with one day offering a customized omelette and another ending the meal with a delicate homemade cheesecake! There is an easy trail in the woods around the house to take a walk on and we were able to enjoy a cozy fire pit at night. Finally, the spa has a variety of offerings (steam room, jacuzzi, massages, etc.) and we were able to relax with a soothing couples massage that was well worth it. The location works well as it is only a short drive to downtown West Bend which offers a good selection for meals and shopping. It is also to the Shalom Wildlife Zoo which surprisingly offers a wide variety of animals to observe and take part in a large petting zoo section as well. Overall, we highly recommend Hidden Serenity and appreciate the wonderful experience that Sally and Chris put together that we were able to enjoy. read more

This was our 4th time staying at Hidden Serenity. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway, this is the place you want to stay. We were there last November but didn't get a chance to use the free spa room that is an excellent addition to the inn. We took advantage of the room this time around and we were not disappointed. 90 minutes of relaxation was a perfect way to start our day. Chris and Sally are fantastic hosts and their breakfasts are like no other. We have stayed at other Bed n Breakfast Inn's and this one is our favorite. Wow! What an experience. My husband and I needed a break from teenagers, dogs, work...adulting. While we didn't know where to go, we knew trees, trails, and a small-town feel was a must. We also had a 3-hour drive limit. Hidden Serenity! We didn't know what to expect and were hopeful it would meet our expectations. We were blown away. Once you hit the driveway, the weight of the world melts away. The driveway is a curvy, tree-lined, one lane paved road; I loved driving in and out. Ok, this isn't a novel, so I'll get to it... * Four Seasons room had a big square deep jacuzzi - it seriously rocked. * Breakfast is amazing. It's a three-course meal with very healthy options mixed in with some special treats - breakfast dessert! * The entire home is clean and beautifully decorated. * The Spa. Wow it's great. You can't go wrong with a steam, cold shower, sauna, hot tub, fireplace, and cucumber-mint water. * The two rocking chairs on the patio are made for chill times. * Pickle Ball court. Ha! It was fun and we closed all our rings. * Trails are great for walks - bring good shoes. Finally, Sally and Chris are great people. Be sure to ask about the B&B's history, it's a great story. Everything here is amazing! The attention to detail and continuity of experience truly sets Hidden Serenity apart. My wife and I spent our 18th anniversary here and it was absolutely outstanding. Chris and Sandy are so nice, kind, and thoughtful. They are amazing to talk to and have made their B&B one of a kind. The theme and details throughout really help you get lost in the experience. The hiking trail is very nice and the questions for couples along the way was great to add to the experience. The breakfast out most 5 star restaurants to shame. The spa is beautiful, well done, and adds to the romance. My wife had a massage and said it was the best massage she's had (she's had many massages so must have been amazing!). We are really looking forward to going back soon. The cute downtown of West Bend is only about 10 minutes away and has a great selection of restaurants, bars, and shopping. Really enjoyed spending some time downtown and the fact it was close was nice. read more

My Husband and I spent our 35th wedding anniversary at Hidden Serenity and didn't want to leave. Chris and Sally are warm, welcoming, and we felt like we belonged there! There is everything anyone could need or want in a get-a-way here! Excellent multi-course fresh breakfast with fresh flowers, home made and served! Coffee, tea, and cold drinks not only for breakfast but at any time! The rooms are amazing with each one having it's own theme with a very comfortable bed! I booked a two night stay at Hidden Serenity for Mother's Day and couldn't be more pleased. From the time we arrived to when we left everything was spectacular. Chris the owner was great. There isn't one thing that is overlooked. Our room was beautiful with a walk-in jetted tub and shower and a heated floor. The view is gorgeous. On our walk around the property trail we saw lots of birds and a few deer. Right across the street is the Shalom Wildlife Zoo where we spent over 2 hours walking around viewing all the different animals. The breakfasts in the morning were fabulous. My favorite was the carrot oatmeal. My wife even let me win at billiards :) We plan to return again and I'm looking forward to playing some pickle ball and hopefully meeting Sally. If you're looking for a cozy and warm place to stay, this is definitely it! The owners, Sally and Chris are fantastic and it feels like they really like to get to know their guests during their stay, they are very kind and very good in the kitchen as they give you a three course breakfast. My husband and I stayed for three nights and each morning it was a different type of breakfast style. Some of the breakfast's are different than what we normally eat. However, they are all amazing. We bought the couples massage package and it was TOTALLY worth it! This B&B is super relaxing, you disconnect from the rest of the world (if you allow it) and its just overall super awesome. We loved our stay at Hidden Serenity. Perfect for a quiet weekend getaway. The home is nicely secluded from the main road and surrounded by nature and walking trails. Rooms were spacious, clean, and bathroom had HEATED FLOORS! The breakfast was really good and in a nice setting. Nice tennis court/basketball court/pickleball court to get some activity in. We started loving playing pickleball after our weekend there. Also really good restaurants just within 10 minutes drive. Most importantly, the hosts are amazing people. The hot tub, sauna and steam room worked very well. The massage my girlfriend got was strong & satisfying. The hiking trails were legit and the breakfast the inn keeper and her husband made in the morning was delicious. The rooms had a cozy, northwoodsy feel and they were very clean. What an amazing place for a relaxing getaway! So much thought and attention has gone into every single detail to make the house and your stay really cozy. The beds are so comfy that they suck you right in and you never want to leave. The breakfasts were unbelievable with lots of ingredients from local producers or straight from Sally's garden. Chris and Sally are perfect hosts too, super nice and accommodating and full of great recommendations if you're looking for things to do. Stayed here for three days for our anniversary. Our host, Sally, was friendly and helpful. The house and room was beautiful, unique and very clean with luxury touches like heated bathroom floors and a giant shower with fancy shower heads. The breakfasts were delish. We loved the little touches like edible flowers from her garden as a garnish and maple syrup tapped from her own trees. There were beautiful wooded walking paths and flower beds, a pickleball court, a billiards table, and artful, eclectic details everywhere you look as well as fun stuff to do nearby- a wildlife park, lakes, hiking trails, etc. We'll definately be back and would recommend it to anyone wanting a charming and relaxing place to stay in any season. read more

Hidden serenity is our home away from home. Chris & Sally are warm & welcoming and make us feel we are their only guests. Although we have other guests surrounding us @ breakfast, they make us feel like we are their "favorite guests". We had a great Hallmark weekend staying at the Bed and Breakfast. Chris and Sally were an excellent combination as hosts to usher you in and give suggestions. The room had everything we needed including a charming vinyl player, bed lights and heated floors in the bathroom. The breakfast was simply amazing and unique with a very good coffee. We stayed at the Hidden Serenity for two nights during the week. During our stay there weren't any other visitors so it was nice to have the place to ourselves, so to speak. Chris greeted us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the bed and breakfast and gave us some recommendations of some restaurants to visit in town. We stayed in the Kettle Moraine Suite. It was a very nice room that had a sitting area with a view of the woods. The bathroom had heated floors, which we loved, and a double soaker tub. The tub was a bit small, however, my husband and I are both smaller people. The breakfast was good. We went for a hike on their on-site trail it took about 30 mins to go through it. I liked that they had this feature available. We enjoyed the breakfast that was served. The omelettes were delicious. Even though Sally was our direct contact we did not see her once. It would have been nice to have met her. Chris was very nice, accommodating, warm and friendly. He made our anniversary trip very special! read more

My husband and I do not get away much. He comes from a family of eight and has three children from a previous marriage and I have one too from another marriage. I added one to the gang and he just moved back home with us (in a transition period). So altogether we are usually a house full of coming and going children, other family, dogs, cats or as I forgot to mention our Covid puppy Wolfie who is use to our undivided attention. We needed a GETAWAY!!! Hidden Serenity was perfect. We drove down this long quaint road and I must say I was anxiously awaiting to just relax and not have a worry. Christmas was over, everyone was healthy and I Just wanted time with my husband. After settling in, we enjoyed a cocktail in our room and went on to a couples message. It was amazing. A great way to start off the New Year. As I mentioned earlier my husband comes from a large family and his Aunt happens to live in West Bend. We had a wonderful visit with her, dinner and then came back to our room at Hidden Serenity. It was so warm, inviting and immediately felt like a home away from home. I highly suggest this as a retreat or as I said to my husband "We need to come back in the summer for a Pickle Ball Challenge". Sally & Chris are two of the nicest people we have ever met and were very welcoming from the minute we arrived. We had the joy of staying at Hidden Serenity recently and cannot say enough positive. The three day stay was beyond expectations. The property was magnificent and the Innkeepers, Sally and Chris were the perfect hosts. The website, as great as it is, does not do the rooms and common area justice. The rooms were decorated tastefully and the added touches in each room felt like you were staying in a European castle. We loved every second of our stay. There is plenty to do in the area, especially if you enjoy walks and beautiful scenery. There was nothing negative that we could have found fault with. The stay was beautiful all the way around. We booked the least expensive room for two nights. First night: went fine, we were told that they only had one thermostat for entire house so they could not accommodate individual needs. They were fully booked and the temperature was perfect. Food and room were great. (Other than my foot going through a rotted board on the outside deck!) Second night: this is where we felt inferior - when we returned around 7:30 pm we were playing pool on the second floor and sweating. When I asked the "host" if it was warmer, I was told the lady who rented the room (on the first floor - we were staying on the second floor) was cold so the "host" turned up the air conditioning (there were only two rooms booked that night)! I suggested that maybe she would be more comfortable on the second floor and was told, no they couldn't do that she booked the entire week. The "host" told me she would turn it down 1 degree and I could go into another room and get a fan if I was warm and make sure not to touch anything because the room was set up! So I got little sleep that night due to room being too warm, even with fan. It was unusually warm for WI for June - in the 90's! Plus breakfast was scheduled to accommodate the other person at 7:30, the first morning we had the option of 8 or 8:45 I have stayed at several other bed and breakfasts and have not experienced anything like this. I was asked the second day if I needed anything and I asked for towels and was told to get my dirty towels and she would exchange them. I just assumed they would go in room and make bed and replace dirty towels. read more

There are lots of neat places to check out near by, especially the Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary. We had some great conversations and laughs with Sally & Chris, the owners. My wife and I had a great New years Eve night at Hidden Serenity. The House and surrounding property are beautiful. The house is a nice size, very beautiful and rustic, beautiful living room with huge ceiling to lounge and look out the back at the amazing forest view. The grounds are perfect for outdoorsy folks... Totally wooded...we saw a huge family of wild Turkeys marching across the property which was very neat. Our room (Quiet Oaks) was not lacking in any update/luxury. TV, huge DVD library, Netflix, very clean and comfortable Queen bed, electric fireplace, awesome bathroom/shower with wall jets...etc etc. Breakfast was incredible. Perfect made-to-order omelettes with sides like oatmeal with maple syrup made from the trees on the property! Nearby town of West Bend was very cool, lots of restaurants and nightlife... Sally and Chris are both super nice and great hosts. My wife and I really enjoyed talking with them at breakfast. They made our stay perfect. Can't say anything negative about this B&B. Modern yet rustic, rural but very convenient to shopping, restaurants, and major roads. We have yet to find inn keepers as helpful and friendly as Sally and Chris. My husband and I do not get the opportunity to get away very often alone, so when an opportunity presented itself, we grabbed it immediately. We made reservations at Hidden Serenity B&B and I was really excited for a quiet Easter weekend getaway just the two of us. The morning of Good Friday, I had 2 medical tests that were a bit stressful for me and with getting little sleep the days prior to this, a weekend away is just what we needed. We headed out after those appointments to start our relaxing weekend. We arrived at the B&B and the grounds were absolutely beautiful. The owners were away, but we met their daughter and she was very friendly. She gave us a tour of the home and showed us to our room, which was the Shalom Forest downstairs facing the front of the property. The first thing we noticed was how warm the room was and there were no pillow cases on one set of the pillows. We only sleep with one pillow each, so we didn't make a fuss about this. After we got settled in, we decided to go have an early dinner. We arrived back to the B&B and we checked out the DVD selection. We finally cracked a window and turned off the fireplace and a space heater as it was getting warmer in our room. Up until this point, we were the only guests in the home, but we were notified at check-in that one other couple would be arriving for the weekend. This couple was staying right above us. Unfortunately, our quiet and peaceful weekend came to a screeching halt. As soon as the other couple checked in, we heard everything including the balls on the pool table being hit, doors opening/closing, walking around, showering, flushing the toilet, the TV, the bathroom vent fan, talking, things being placed on the floor and uh...their extracurricular activities. I honestly believe this couple was not trying to be loud; they were just living in their room; however, I do believe it has to do with the hardwood floors throughout the place and the acoustics from such. From looking at the B&B's website, there once was carpeting, but it has since been replaced with hardwood flooring. The whole time we were there, we whispered thinking if we can hear them, they can probably hear us. Even with the window open, the warmth in the room was too much and I slept maybe 3 hours total Friday night. On Saturday, we left our room around 8:00 a.m. to go sightseeing and returned around 4:00 p.m. We were going to rest for a while before dinner, but that never happened due to the noise. We went out for dinner instead. When we got back, we were relaxing and reading our books. When I tried to go to sleep, I couldn't due to the noise. At this point, I was tired and irritated. By 8:30 p.m., I had had enough. Above us, they were watching TV, a movie I believe. My husband woke up from this and saw me upset on the side of the bed. He made the executive decision to pack up and leave right there and then. The owners' daughter was apologetic and said she would let her parents know what all transpired. We were on the road by 9:15 p.m. with a drive home of a little over an hour. Usually when you are on vacation, you don't want to leave. Well, we couldn't wait to leave. I am thankful to the owners that we were not charged for the second night and an email was sent to us by the owners on Easter Sunday regarding our stay. They were very sympathetic about the whole incident and did offer us a free night of our choosing, which we appreciated, but due to not being able to get away very often and the possibility of more medical testing for myself, we turned it down. This place is beautiful, but there are things that really need to be fixed. Our particular room felt cramped in the area where the bed was and the extreme heat in the room was just too much. I guess for almost $300 a night for our particular room, I was really disappointed with our experience. I am grateful that we were able to spend time together, but it really could have been so much more. read more

Absolutely fabulous B&B. Sally and Chris are gracious hosts and everything has been thought of, down to the smallest detail. The breakfasts are delicious and varied every morning, there is coffee and tea available at all hours, a gorgeous deck overlooks a backyard forest, there is a short hiking trail that goes through the forest from the home, a tennis court is available for those who want, the bed and sheets are worthy of a 5 star hotel, the room and bathroom are tastefully decorated, have heated tile floor, a fireplace and the whole home is adorable- with a front porch swing. If you're going to kettle moraine, west bend or horicon marsh or the nearby area stay here. You will not be disappointed. We are already planning a fall trip back. read more

We just returned from a night here and can't recommend this place enough! Chris and Sally were so kind and welcoming. The rooms were wonderful, lots of little details to make it special. We loved the awesome shower in the Timber Trails room and the heated floor in the bathroom! The bed was cozy and we loved the fireplace in the room. It rained the whole time we were here but that just made it nicer to be inside. The Shalom Wildlife Zoo across the street was a great experience, even in the rain! We also walked on the trail on the Serenity property, it took about half an hour and it was gorgeous. This was the perfect time of year to see the fall colors.
