The Quality Inn: A Case Study in Thermodynamic Failure…read more * The Atmospheric Conditions: The pool area isn't just a leisure space; it's a self-contained weather system where the ventilation has been "optimized" for profit, resulting in indoor glaciers that would make a National Geographic photographer weep. The poor air circulation in addition to saving money, is no doubt generating revenue for pharmaceutical companies treating all of the mold allergies. * The Biological Indicators: That signature "clean pool" smell is actually the olfactory evidence of a thousand local toddlers using the facility as a public latrine--a chemical reaction of chloramines that serves as a warning to anyone with an intact immune system. At $7 a local kid for a whizpool, it's surely a profit center, and you can certainly smell the difference. * The Culinary Experience: Breakfast consists of "food-like substances," specifically chunks of microwaved egg that appear to be weeping for their own existence and pork sausages swimming in a reservoir of grease and existential dread. * The Lobby Ambience: The computer station is guarded by a territorial child-in-residence who has seemingly aged into the upholstery over the last two years, ensuring that "tacky" remains the primary aesthetic. * The "Coffee": A beverage so weak and feeble it qualifies as a crime against humanity. It isn't brewed coffee in the way that we've all come to expect; it's a hot, wet insult served in a cup, located--fittingly--in a completely different room to distance itself from the concept of actual food. If you ever find someone whose teeth are on fire, and you are fresh out of urine, this coffee is a great substitute...

My husband and I stayed here on 08/07/2018...OMG...!!! Where to begin..only 3 towels in the room,…read moreelectrical covers were loose and the only thing holding them on were the products plugged into them. Horrible lighting for shaving or putting on makeup and no extra mirrors for styling hair. The only ice is on the 1st floor, smaller then normal pillows on the bed, the tub didn't drain, the hotel needs a major upgrade, can anyone say 1970??? Chairs in the room were literally falling apart, I grabbed one to move it and the arm came right off and they rock because the screws are so loose. Minimal tv channels to watch (about 20) and 4 of them are cartoon and public tv. The paint job on the walls was horrible seeing every single roller line, the air is very noisy and never did take the dampy feeling out of the room and there was no paper or pen in the room to jot anything down. The tv was on a table that was so low you couldn't see it once laying in bed and it shuts off automatically after a few hours, so if your watching a show you have to turn it back on to finish watching it. The shower head was extremely dirty and could have used CLR cleaning. Made you feel as though you were washing with dirty water. It's definitely not worth the price you pay for the room....!! To be fair the bed was ok, it was nice to have a fridg in the room, the hair dryer worked well and it seemed the carpet was newer then the furnishings. Honestly though, save your money and try another place.

The snow that remained after the plowing was at least 4" deep. Really great for shoes. Door knob on our room was broken. Prayed everytime we opened it that that it would indeed open. Heater in the room blasted air continuously. First cold then extremely hot. Right into your face when you are sleeping. Had to cover the entire thing with one of the 3 towels you were given. 2 outlets in the room were available to us. The others had 3 ways already in them. Worse coffee in the world. Cold old and disgusting. Breakfast was a joke. Gross coffee, waffles, and cold cereal and 3! Yes only 3 hard boiled eggs. Great for a well balanced diet. Best of all. When I asked if I could get a late check-out (we are top level rewards members) I had to beg for an additional hour. Even though there were only ourselves and 2! Other people staying in the hotel. And all this for the low price of $100/night. We have stayed in 4 star hotels for that price. But to have the amenities that we had for that price is just absurd.

We had an excellent stay at this clean, well-run campground. Super friendly and helpful owner, she…read moregave us extra printed information about the area when we told her we were there to explore nearby waterfalls. The lake is mesmerizing at midnight when the mist rises off of it in the moonlight. We were told there were otters and beaver in the area, and we saw a muskrat right off of the pier. On the lovely drive up we saw some deer, bald eagles and a black bear. Make sure to follow the directions to their property that they send to you when you reserve. You'll be on a paved road most of the way, but then it turns into a gravel road. If it's been raining, there can be a gigantic puddle of water that you'll have to drive through; it stretches across the entire gravel road. It is passable; it just looks really scary, especially if you're in a big RV. It took three days for that puddle to dissipate. Bring bug spray for sure because there is water all around the tent sites after a rain. The playground and outhouse bathrooms were closed due to Covid, but the main bathroom/shower building was open and clean. Not a high-end restroom, but not rustic either. Be aware of their cancellation and no-show policies. There are no refunds, but they give credit instead. We changed from an RV site to a Tent site and so had a little over $20 coming to us. So we used that credit to get three $6 bundles of firewood instead. Since it rained the day we got there, the firewood was damp. It took us about an hour to get our campfire going the first night. We had to shred up every cardboard box we brought with us to use as kindling. So we went into Mellen the next day and bought some firestarter logs at the convenience store.

We made our reservation over the phone, I knew by sound of the womans kind voice and time she took to answer our questions before we reserved our site... it was the right place to stay. Also, we were close to Copper Falls State Park to do some biking/hiking. Would stay again, the owners were wonderful !!!

We arrived to check into Cabin #2 and were greeted by two friendly women at the restaurant. We…read moreexcitedly drove over to our cabin to unload after a long day of travel knowing that we had family members meeting us over at the resort for dinner. Upon walking in we were met with an incredibly moldy smell. I decided to open up every window and get it aired out. The windowsills were resting places for dead bugs and almost every screen had multiple holes covered by duct tape. While I was opening windows, my friend used the bathroom and exclaimed out loud as she nearly fell off the loosely mounted, slanted toilet. As we walked throughout the cabin, we noticed the floor was unstable and uneven in many places with a level change to the bedroom and a number of soft spots in the subfloor. It was unsettling. That night neither of us slept a wink. It probably didn't help that we needed to kill a dozen spiders in the bathroom and bedroom before retiring for the evening. Both of us grew up in very modest households, frequently camping and "roughing it", but this experience wasn't charming or rustic, it was filthy and neglected. We could go on but will simply list the following concerns: - Horrible odor - Bath towel that smelled of mildew - Window screens were ripped and duct taped - Spiders/cobwebs in the bathroom and bedroom - Unclean and unstable toilet - Uncomfortably old and flat pillows - Dirty comforter and decorative pillow covers - Rusted porch door with a 2 inch gap practically inviting mosquitoes inside - Numerous holes in the ceiling and walls plugged with tissues and rags - Splatter on the coffee pot - Ceiling-wide chains, presumably holding up the side walls - Laminate ceiling panel falling off - Dirty towels plugging gap around AC unit We decided to quickly leave the next morning, two days before our scheduled departure. As we headed into town to shake the cobwebs out of our hair, we went to a few local haunts to pick up breakfast and other knickknack items. While sharing our experience with locals, we learned that the owner has a reputation for taking money without providing clean or quality accommodations and that cabin guests would never return. Well, we are certainly among those who were dissatisfied and horrified.

When we asked if they could fix them, we were told they were too busy. They said when they had a chance they would come tape them up. We ended up buying duct tape and fixing them ourselves. We shouldn't have bothered. Starting at about 11:00 am until late at night all you heard was the blaring music from the outside speakers at the bar. We ended up leaving the fans run day and night to cover the noise. The beach area was full of goose droppings and there was no attempt to clean them up. We left before the week was up and when we told them we couldn't stand the noise anymore they were smug and rude and didn't say sorry or anything else and never offered any discount or anything. Stay far away from this place.
