From the beginning she comes off extremely helpful and accommodating. If you choose to hire her, please be very conscientious of what you agree to (whether it's in the contract or not) because she will hold you to it and not allow you to change your mind with ANY details. Her decor is outdated, and just because I did not tell her this in our initial meeting, she refused to hear our requests to take things down (mind you, these were things that did NOT make her job any more difficult). When asked by both my wedding planners (whom she refused to even speak to), my mom, my step mom, my husband's mom, my matron of honor, and countless bridesmaids, to remove the decor that did not match our theme for our event, she refused and was mean, rude, and downright terrible to all of the most important people in my life. My family and bridesmaids had to spend most of Friday and Saturday trying to plead with her to make the decor and bar changes that we wanted. She only responded to me with "Well there's a difference between a bartending service and a bartender." At 11pm, on the day of our wedding, she decides to tell my husband that she is charging us for "damages" to her equipment that was mysteriously packed away already. I can't even begin to tell you how terrible she was to work with and how incredibly discouraging it was to worry about something as silly as decor on my wedding day. She cares more about her pride than making her customers happy which is so very sad and I have no idea how she's still in business. She does not work well collaborating with other vendors so please don't book her for your wedding. Do not book her for any event other than a low-key event otherwise she will find a way to disappoint you.

It's a simple little motel, but it's very clean and the rates are incredibly reasonable for the facilities and the location. It has wi-fi and a decent cable TV selection. Downside = the mattresses have some sort of plastic protector that crunches and such when you roll over (or really just move) on the bed. And the decor is early 70s chic with thin doors both inside and outside facing. That being said, it's a cozy little place and nicer than one might even expect for a town the size of Iola. While the decor is dated, the rooms are comfortable and the welcome is warm.

Between a phone call and several interactions with her over a two-day period, three people from our group were shocked at how rude and dismissive she was. She made no attempt to listen when there was an issue with our room reservation, made no apologies that our room was not ready despite us having called the evening before to confirm our early check-in, gave us incorrect information about what was included in the room rate, and when we asked to speak to a manager she responded with "Really? Why?" We were given no explanation for why we were not able to check-in at 11am despite confirming the evening before that the room we would be staying in was not occupied so early check in would not be an issue. If that wasn't bad enough, we returned at 5:30 after our round of golf and were told our room was STILL not ready despite the standard check-in time of 4:00. After finally getting into our room, we went to PJ's that evening and asked to order a pizza. We were informed that the kitchen closes at 9:00 (we arrived at 9:05) so we ordered from the late night menu. Over the next 30 minutes, several pizzas came out of the kitchen for other guests. At first we assumed they got their orders in before 9:00, but we ultimately asked the server why they were still making pizzas if the kitchen is closed? We were told that "the people that ordered those pizzas were part of a larger group so they were keeping the kitchen open for them." After paying $350 a person for golf and a whopping $855 for the room, we were pretty upset. While the hotel manager did try and help, and ultimately refunded us the cost of the room, the horrible treatment from the front desk individual and the aggravation at PJs made for a terrible experience and we will not be returning.

Through his unprofessionalism and irrational behavior, he single handedly ruined the wedding reception. He was extremely inflexible with regards to the Bride's request, he was not willing to take music requests, he threatened guests over the microphone that were in his opinion dancing "too close" to his speakers. He made the bride cry on two separate occasions that I witnessed. He did not even allow the bouquet and garter toss. Conversations Bob Holl had with the guests became more and more irrational as the night progressed. He was unable to relate to the crowd and to top it off, he packed up his equipment at 10:30 and shut down the party an hour and a half earlier than he was contracted... The reception was intended to go to 12:00. When confronted about his early exit, he started citing irrelevant points within his contract and he even went as far as threatening the individuals that were questioning his actions. Looking back on it and his growing inflexibility throughout the night, it was apparent that he had a premeditated agenda to close down the party early and evident that this has likely occurred in the past.
