There is no Internet connection at this location. And to get to it, it's about a 20 minute drive on a curvy road. The road is pretty epic, though! We enjoyed the sauna, Jacuzzi, plunge bath, and lake with paddle boards and a canoe. Would love to come again in the future, especially around fall time with the changing colors of the leaves. We attended a summer wedding at Beyul Retreat, and it was truly lovely. We had one of the small…read morecabins, and it had everything we needed! But the real charm is the property outside the cabins. The wedding took place in a small aspen grove on the property and was just gorgeous. The lodge had a small shop with food and drinks and another with clothes and jewelry. (The lodge is the only area of the property that has wifi or cell service, which didn't bother us a bit - nice way to unplug - but FYI.) Everyone at the property was really friendly, and the food was really good. There are some hikes you can do without leaving the property, but there are many areas for hiking, fishing, and watersports if you leave the property (and the staff can/will direct you)! Full disclosure - I am not a super outdoorsy person. I'm pretty much a 100% city girl. I was probably one of the last outdoorsy people at the wedding (most guests were from Colorado), and I still thought this venue was spectacular for our friend's wedding. It's a little remote - but that was part of the incredible charm. We had a wonderful weekend here.

Mitch, the host, is delightful, genuinely kind, and a fantastic conversationalist who makes you feel at home the moment you arrive. The lodge itself is a wonderfully quirky historic cabin full of charm and character. Every detail feels thoughtfully designed for weary hikers, from the hot tub, luxury rain showers, bidet, and incredibly cushy carpets to the complimentary toiletries, towels, and laundry service. The bunk beds are comfortable and equipped with privacy curtains, and the beautiful stained glass, local artwork, cozy patio, and three sweet resident dogs make it a place you'll want to linger. Breakfast was complimentary and even included fresh fruit and dairy-free options, and there was an honor-system bar stocked for the evening. My group of four practically had the whole place to ourselves, and we took full advantage of everything it had to offer. At only $60 a night, it felt like an incredible value. There are also private rooms available for those looking for a little more privacy. This was one of the most hiker-friendly hostels I've ever stayed in. I'd happily return in a heartbeat.

If you have a large group and want to stay in, there's a full-service kitchen and a spacious dining area to enjoy. If you prefer to go out, it's just minutes from town and everything Breckenridge has to offer. As a solo traveler, I've never had a bad time here--I've met so many interesting monsters! If you're there to ski or snowboard, the bus picks you up right outside, so you don't need to worry about parking in Breckenridge. The Bunkhouse is funky and eclectic, with old-world warmth and charm. You'll also want to love fur babies because if you're lucky, they'll take a liking to you and you can cuddle up on the sofa with a glass of wine. Mitch is the hostess with the mostest! His laugh is contagious, and his generosity and kindness set the bar for hospitality. This is a true lodge experience, so be open to meeting new people and sharing space. Bring your beer, wine, or whiskey, and relax in the bar while enjoying a drink. It's a great place to reconnect with the space around you and be present in the moment. The worst part about staying at Mitch's place is having to leave.

They also accomodated our early departure by putting together a breakfast for us that was in the fridge for the next morning. Rooms were extremely cute. Loved the decor. It was very different than anywhere that i have stayed in the past. Only downside of our room was that it was right above the bar next door and folks were out there talking fairly loudly for quite awhile which is not what you want when you are leaving at 430 am the next morning. Would definitely come back if needed a place to stay in the future in the area.

Like others have said, the Alps is comfortable and includes the amenities that most people want. It certainly is cheaper than most other Leadville motels and a good value. It isn't large enough to have a breakfast and that helps keep the prices down. When full, the parking can be tight but not really a problem unless you are pulling an ATV trailer. Watch the water temperature, Jeff makes sure the water is hot for the cold Leadville winters. We will stay here again.

Though I had originally intended to only stay for about five days the breakdown of my car stranded me there for the better part of two weeks. This hotel is probably one of the best in the mountain top town of Leadville which is located just off of HWY 24S. about 70 miles southwest of Denver. The rooms are nicely furnished, equipped with small fridges and microwaves and are very reasonably priced. The owners were on vacation during my time there but the former owners who were holding down the fort were extremely personable and helpful during that most trying of weeks on the road. Located at the edge of a town which stands at 10,430 feet elevation, the motel offers a scenic view of the nearby snow covered mountain peaks.

The bed was comfortable and had the right amount of softness and firmness. This was a top tier experience. The pool was heated, and the jacuzzi provided much relief as well. Guests seem to keep to themselves but are friendly. Highly recommend staying here!
