I graduated in 2004 as a medical assistant. It was the worst experience and a HUGE waste of $$. I'm still paying on loans. They promised with helping finding a job, they NEVER did. Instead they ad me write a letter saying I didn't need help finding a job. If I didn't they wouldn't give me my degree. For about 90% of the course the instructor didn't teach much and just allowed us to do what we wanted. When it became apparent to the school what was going on they forged our documents and grades to show we passed what was not being taught. It is great school! I graduated in 2010 as medical billing & coding! I have internship in Sutter Surgery Center even they tried to put me in really bad place! I made sure I had the best place! It was hard! I found job after three months I have graduated! Without any connections! Data Entry in HSP. I made only $10 per hours! It was three months contract job! But my manager loves my job and offer me to applied for Xerox medical job! I did and get hired before this three months passed! I got job for $12 per hours, but it was permanent job. In only one year I got raise to $14 as Quality Control Analyst. Get hired in Superior Vision as Quality Assurance Analyst! And made really good money! If you smart! You can start from lower job in your field and growth so fast! Because you have a good education! I later got hired in VSP Vision Care. So, it was good school in 2010. I have no idea how it now! I attended High Tech from 2002-2004 and graduated as a Medical Assistant I couldn't find a job as an MA anywhere due to my school of choice no one would hire me. I eventually got a job as a Lab Assistant with on the job training. I have been doing this on and off for about 15 years. High Tech Instute, this was a great place, graduated in 1996 as a Limited X-Ray Tech. Had great teacher and great friend tech students. It was a commute from Napa but well worth it. Till this day have been employed making good money. There is a great demand for xray techs due to Covid virus here in Sandiego. read more

They talked me into attending the the Medical Billing and Coding program back in 2007. I graduated with honors and perfect attendance awards. But now that I think back on it, it's a joke. Our teacher would just read from our books all week then reword the questions on the test for us to study the day before the test! But I'm not complaining about my teacher, she was really sweet. I'm sure she was just teaching the way she was told to. But after I graduated I spent at least a year or two applying for jobs before giving up, just to be told I didn't have enough experience in the field. What a waste of time and money. read more

All the staff there was so helpful and the directors of admin Sarah was extremely nice and very willing to help. They offer great programs and at a good cost. No run around just straight forward. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE!!! This school is a waste of your money. All they want is your money. You don't earn any type of degree and they miss lead people by telling you they will find you a job after your your externship. I took the pharm tech course.I got a job but if wasn't from them. Yeah they got me in the extern site but it really didn't matter what school I came from. I was competing against 2 other students, and it was my performance that got me the job. When I started my extern, everything they taught me in class was irrelevant and I had to learn everything on my own. You only earn a certificate and people don't know this but, there are 2 ways of earning your lic. 1, you can go to school and waste your money to show the board the amount of hours you completed in durning an extern or, save your money and take the PTCB. I see so many students that come in thinking they are going to get a job because someone tells them that the profession they will be studying is in HIGH DEMAND but in actuality it is compacted, and in my profession it is very hard to get a job with at least 2 years experience. I attended this college back when it was High-Tech Institute. I went all the way through the surgical technology course. I completed my externship and then started looking for work. I got a couple interviews but no job. In the end the pavement department placed me in a job through a temp agency answering phones for a health insurance company. Completely not related to surgical technology. Then again after 3 months of being unemployed and broke I had to take what I could. Also, the person placing people in the externships was homophobic so she placed me in a hospital in rural Oregon. Don't go here. In fact I recommend not going to any for profit speedy college. Go to city college. You'll save a boat load of money. This is coming from a dude with outrageous amounts of student loan debt. read more

This school is a joke. It's Anthem college now and their accreditation is BS. Research extensively on the degree they will give you and the degree you want/need. For me they were misleading me and going to give me a degree that would not get me hired in hospitals. They don't let you know this until you sign enrollment papers! read more

I attended a program at Anthem College, formerly High Tech Institute, from August 2012 through August 2013. I DO NOT recommend this school. I graduated with several honors and I formed a student mentor group to help students and promote the school because I felt it important to do something not just complain. I still cannot recommend this place. While at Anthem I witnesses unprofessionalism in faculty to the point that instructors involve themselves in clicks and pick and choose who they are helpful and or nice too. I witnesses grown people brought to tears by faculty. We constantly ran out of supplies. We were limited in class on the hands on portion because of the shortage often. The college attempted to rescind this December's graduation, but after a petition threats of filing complaints it was reinstated one the school realized it was stated in their contract and they had to honor it. When I finished the program I was not sent transcripts or a diploma. When I called to find out where it was I was told I needed to send in a written request because those items are not given just because a student graduates. I was promised assistance in searching for a job, but after extern, I was never contacted. The school says its resources are available to graduates, but I have had a very hard time using the facility. The Department of Consumer Affairs performed an inspection while I was there as well. It was a result of Anthem violating other student contracts. They perform a nice song and dance when you arrive, but once they have you in a contract and you are attending, you will no longer be treated well. You will be treated as a child. BEFORE enrolling at Anthem or any vocational schools TALK to students. Talk to more than one and make sure they are random. Don't trust them to find a student to talk to you. It is the only way to avoid a bad experience. read more
