I called him today to install a sink disposal that was not working. I tried clearing it on my own, hit the button at the bottom. So I purchased a new one and called him to install it. He came in, asked if I 'used the tool' to un-jam it. I forgot to do that. He promptly got the tool and fixed the disposal in 5 minutes. He checked the pipes to ensure they were clear and was done. He didn't charge me his minimum fee, and quoted a very minimal amount. I paid him his minimum charge because he could have just replaced the disposal like I asked. He's honest and he feels his job is to save his customer's money. I HIGHLY recommend this handyman.

I Discovered the cuts, so asked him to come back and take a look. I'm a retired experienced GC and while showing him the two small cuts, I only suggested the real possibility that his installer may have lost his balance and not realized with tools in his hands that he may have been the cause. TJ became indignant, claiming he was being personally accused by me and that there was no way the cuts were "human". Instead of admitting even the slightest possibility that I may be right and discussing any type of resolution or compromise we could come to, TJ escaped out the side screen door and headed to his work truck like he was a criminal leaving the scene of accident that he was at fault in causing. NOT much of a businessman in my opinion as he ran away without any further discussion, not even getting the chance to learn that, either way, I was still prepared to have the repair done at my expense. But due to his running off in denial, we never even got to that line of discussion. I WOULD NEVER USE THIS PERSON (for lack of a better term) AGAIN, not even when he begins his new business picking up dogshit in people's yards which as far as I'm concerned is about all he may be qualified to do.
