We had requester a quote on an algae issue we had and they sent a technician to evaluate the issue. We were told it would take weeks of regiments of wire brush cleanings and would be given a quote. Meanwhile, an associate at Leslie's suggested using a chlorine tablet and wire brush. We followed Leslie's advice and in 2 hours, the algae problem we had was gone. We did not hear back from High Tide Pools until we received an email out of the blue thinking it was the promised quote only to see a $92 invoice for labor plus tax plus fuel. I would not mind paying for services rendered if it was discussed before hand and the promised quote was given. I like these guys and we had used their service when we first moved to our home with pool and we had a great experience. The only reason I am writing a review is I asked an equitable bill to reflect on the current request and they did not reconsider or provide promised quote for future reference in case the dreaded algae returns. read more

I've been using High Tide for about three years ago. Every since I fired myself for being incompetent and not focused! Everything I could hope in a Pool company, Keith in his team are it. They are very good at their work and very consistent on showing up. If something was to hold them back, they would let me know ahead of time and reschedule. Whenever something goes wrong with the equipment, he handles it very quickly and at a reasonable price. What I like is that they e-mail us pics of the pool, before/after, to show us when/what they've done. That's probably something normal, but the previous guy never did that! What really impressed me was that he contacted us before "snowmegeddon" and then came in to check on it afterwards. He told us what to do beforehand and I think it really helped things out. We were really lucky to escape major problems after that epic snow / cold weather. read more

Very bad company owner in my opinion. We tried to contract with them and they said great, we need customers for the next 20 years. The next day I received a text message that their guy, Jim, would be here but he didn't show up by 5:25 so I called and the owner, Keith, told me "I don't have a 9 to 5 job". He told me previously that he needs customers and would definitely not stand us up. When I called to ask why his guy didn't show up he said "well I don't think I need your business." I would leave a negative star if I could. This company over charges and has horrible billing/statement practices. I gave an employee my check, asked if I should send it in or if I could give it to him, he said I could give it to him. Months later High Tide billed me again for the services that I previously paid. I sent them a copy of my check that had cleared my bank. Their bank told them that they never received it. My bank says their bank received it. It cleared my account, made payable to High Tide pool. A YEAR goes by and they are billing me again!!! read more

BUYER BEWARE!! Extremely unprofessional and harassing owner. Asked them to meet me at my house to bid repairs on my pump. They showed up (without notice) while I wasn't home, took apart my pool pump without permission and left with a critical part from the pump. Then they wrote me a bid for several hundred dollars of work that didn't need to be done and had the nerve to send me a service fee on top of it, which they never told me up front!! I had to go to the store and buy the part they "accidentally" took and never brought back and put the pump back together myself. Worst part is when I got it back together, nothing was ever wrong with the pump... the water was below the skimmer in the pool!!!!! The owner insisted that the repairs to the pump were needed without having seen the pump running when the pool had plenty of water. Owner refused to reimburse me for the part they stole and when I refused to pay the "service fee" within 30-60 days he started threatening me by text message adding $30 and $100 late fees to an $85 service call and bombarding me with invoice after invoice. Within a couple months he was now trying to charge me hundreds of dollars. Because of the ongoing text message/email harrassment from the owner and the aggressive invoicing, I've decided to file complaints with the State. Stay AWAY from this company!! We purchased our home from a previous owner. It was very obvious the house, grounds and amenities were not well maintained but it was a great deal for the Wimberley area. The pool was an absolute nightmare to say the least. There were leaks from every pipe that came out of the equipment area and a humming noise that I swear could have woke the dead! The pool was a greenish/blackish color and I was a bit leary it could be salvaged. I was under the impression we would need to have it completely renovated after two companies came to look at it. The third company I called, High Tide Pool Service, which the owner personally answered the phone, came to view the pool in a super timely manner. I was alone impressed with the initial interaction and not to be charged a fee for him to come and see what they would charge for the renovation. Expecting the worse, I was surprised to hear he didn't feel it needed to be renovated. He immediately checked the water and even put some sort of chemical in the water free of charge so it could start working that day so when he came back he would have a good start on it already. He thoroughly explained to me what and why our pool looked like a swamp and I felt like I was taken for a ride from the other companies that now it seemed were out to make some major money from me. I did spend a good deal of money to have all new equipment replaced at my request but by far less than having the pool redone. Needless to say, the pool began to change from the original color to where I could actually see the bottom and could clearly see my money was being well spent. After a couple of weeks and much attention, the pool was ready for the summer. I was MORE than satisfied with the results and continue to use High Tide Pool Service for our weekly cleaning service. I was surprised how feasible the rate was for them to come out to Wimberley and how he educated me and my husband on what we could personally do to help maintain our pool. He typed a list of the equipment that was installed, what it does and when to notify him if something is not working right before his weekly visit so he could have the parts available to complete the work while he is there. I love High Tide Pool Service and so does my husband as he no longer has to listen to me whine and complain about our pool! I highly recommend this company and do refer them to my neighbors and my employees as well. read more
