We were told that they didn't have volunteers to run it. Hmmmm... the Mercantile had a wide selection of merchandise from decor to jewelry and even some antique furniture way in the back. We enjoyed shopping and even brought home a mid-century magazine stand that had been using as a display at the front of the store. We enjoyed our visit but it seemed incomplete without the soda shop experience.

I live in Austin but my family lives in Brown County and we have suffered many losses over the years.
