I would 100 % not recommend sending my children to this facility…read more I was so happy that my twin daughters (ages 3) were accepted into Kiddie Academy to start on 9/11/23. After completing a tour and expressing in full details my children's needs and being told that the school was able to provide the needed support, I thought this would be a perfect setting for them. On their first day of school, I received at least five phone calls asking me to leave work and pick my children up. When asked why, I was told that they were having a hard time adjusting to the new environment and left the classroom a few times which was a "safety hazard" to the other children. When I made it to the school I spoke to Matilda Flores/ Assistant Director and Diana Lauth/ Director. Diana began talking to me about my children in the hallway as other parents were walking by and able to hear, which was a HIPPA violation so I asked her to continue the conversation in her office. When we got in her office she was extremely rude and asked me not to bring my daughters back to their facility as they "do not have enough teachers to provide the support my daughters need". Diana stated that the other children's safety were at risk because during reading time, one of my three year old daughters kept standing up and when she was asked to sit down she screamed and frightened another child". I asked Diana if it would help for me to come in to assist for a few hours to see if they'll adjust better being that it was their first day and was told no that wouldn't help. Diana then proceeded to say that she'd talk things over with her boss and call me back. The following day I took off of work and didn't hear anything back from Kiddie Academy. I called around 11am and was told that they'd call me back. At 5pm I received a phone call stating " The team thinks it would be best for me to find alternative daycare" and after one day of my children attending Kiddie Academy, they were being discharged. I did not receive any funds back and I am very hurt and upset that I trusted this facility to care for my daughters and was treated so bad on the first day. Kiddie academy is not welcoming at all and they only care for the money. Again I would not ever recommend this place!

I chose the Kiddie Academy of Islip as they are close to home and the staff there really made me feel like this was the right place for us. During the walkthrough i was shown ALL rooms along with their outside area. Everything looked clean and the staff working with the children at that time seemed happy and attentive to the children (i saw no red flags). They explained how the day typically goes and showed me the room(s) that my son may be in. I was told no shoes were allowed in the infant rooms which im a fan of for obvious reasons and was told that they disinfect everything on the regular. They gave me any documents that i needed to fill out and even showed and explained the weekly menu to me. They were more than willing to provide me with any information that i requested, answered all of my questions, and seemed to be very organized with their processes. With all things considered i really do feel like this was the perfect option for us. The staff is AMAZING and so nice. They send pictures throughout the day and will call me with any questions or concerns (fever/sickness) they might have. If there are ANY changes regarding the schedule for that day, they post notices/announcements right away for all parents to see. The communication with them is great! I can call at any time and they always answer and have never made me feel like i was annoying them. They are always more than happy to help or answer my questions. My first week dropping him off, i was VERY nervous but staff really made me feel at ease. My son is actually very happy when i bring him there in the mornings and seems to love the staff as well. This puts me at ease and makes me happy as i know he is being cared for correctly and that the staff is showing him love and attention. His teacher Ms Rose is also amazing! Every time i pick him up, she gives me the rundown of the day with how he felt, ate, communicated with other children, and so on (even though they submit a daily report). This gives me more insight on his day there and makes me feel like i am not missing anything! You can tell that the staff here really cares for the children. Overall i am VERY happy with my decision of putting my son in this daycare. I am beyond happy with the way that my son is cared for and with the staff that works so hard to make his experience at daycare amazing. As a parent, i need to feel positive about the people he is around and the environment that he is in and the Kiddie Academy of Islip really does such a great job! I have built more trust in the staff every day that he has been there and i hope that this experience continues to be a pleasant one. I would 100% recommend The Kiddie Academy of Islip to any parent who is in need of childcare.

This is actually the second time this has happened, which makes it even more frustrating. A simple message would have made all the difference. Unfortunately, because of this repeated lack of communication, we will not be returning.

Our story with Pride & Joy Daycare, and the two updates are at the very bottom of this review…read more On July 18th 2023 at 1:34pm, my husband and I received a called from Donna (lead teacher) and Vanessa (a Pride & Joy director) that our 2-year old's daycare teacher, Ashley took the whole class back inside the classroom leaving our son, James, outside. We were told that James was "left outside less than 5 minutes in the backyard." We picked up James from the daycare immediately. At that time, we spoke to Stephanie, the director of another Pride & Joy location, in which she told us in person, that James was left outside on the front lawn unsupervised for "15-20 minutes." Not a single person involved in this situation spoke with us. Stephanie told us, "Ashley was supposed to collect the kids (about 15 kids), and Donna was supposed to do a face to name check at the door which was not done." She also expressed how upset she was about the situation, and that she was the one who made the call to Child Protective Services, and Office of Children and Family Services. We were told by Stephanie that according to the Infant Room teacher who ended up taking her class to a different area of the property, that James went to her twice. She sent James away the first time to "go back to your group," and then supposedly he came back a second time, and that's when the teacher realized something wasn't right. Interestingly enough, our 14-year-old son, Kai, just so happened to be walking past the daycare with a friend on his way to play tennis. Kai actually took a picture of Jimmy while he was completely unsupervised. The director Stephanie told my husband and I twice on the day of the incident that "Ashley was supposed to collect the children, and Donna was supposed to do a face to name check at the door." No other teachers were mentioned. We were also told that Donna was already inside the classroom changing the diaper of another child. When I asked CPS about the cameras, thinking the footage would answer all questions, her response was "their cameras have been inoperable since their last visit." UPDATE: JULY 25, 2023-- VIEWING OF VIDEO FOOTAGE FROM A SOURCE OUTSIDE OF THE DAYCARE James was left outside unattended for 45 minutes. The infant room teacher who claimed to tell James to "go back to his group" actually had a barricade up (put up at 10:33am), and my son did not actually go to her. She was in charge of her own class. 11:02am, and the lead teacher Donna can be seen shocked, with two hands over her face with clearly the news of my son being outside. 11:20am, Stephanie is seen entering the building from the parking lot. Since the incident, James has been having nightmares screaming for my husband, Kai, and me. At the beginning of the footage Donna can be seen leaving the classroom, and building in her red pickup truck. Who was with Ashley and the 15 kids? Donna appears to come back to the building with a white grocery bag. UPDATE AS OF MAY 21st, 2024: If this wasn't a nightmare enough. My husband and I live near the daycare, and who do we see with the children out on the front lawn? Ashley. That's right. The teacher that is not supposed to be working with children anymore according to CPS! The same week Ashley was seen still working with 2 year olds, I get a copy of the letter that was supposed to be sent out to the current enrolled parents of Pride & Joy. The letter did not mention the fact that my son was left outside for 43 minutes on the front lawn during a heatwave. Stephanie also lies in the letter stating that the child had contact with another teacher "shortly."No he did not! My 2 year old was left on the front lawn, without water, or supervision, and was running around with a metal garden stake. I was not going to write a review, but to now see that these parents are being lied to, and that Ashley still works there with children is beyond irresponsible, dangerous, and illegal. I was told that Ashley can no longer work with children, and she is still working at Pride & Joy.

Berkeys daycare is a great place for kids to go. They provide breakfast, lunch and snack. They have cameras so you can see what is going on throughout the day but they do shut the cameras off during nap time. The kids sleep on little cots. She also has a playground in the backyard for the kids to play on when the weather is nice.
