    Rainwater Conference Center

    Rainwater Conference Center

Words cannot begin to express the gratitude and appreciation we have for everyone at the Rainwater…read moreConference Center. When the South Georgia District of Al-Anon was selected to host the 48th Georgia Al-Anon/Alateen Convention with AA Participation, we were both honored and humbled. Plus it was the 75th Anniversary of Al-Anon. As the smallest district in the state of Georgia, we wondered how we could provide a meaningful, welcoming experience while staying within our budget. We prayed for the right place--and Rainwater Conference Center was truly an answer to those prayers. From our very first meeting, the staff embraced our vision as if it were their own. They didn't just provide a venue; they became partners in helping us create a weekend filled with hope, healing, fellowship, and recovery for families and friends whose lives have been affected by alcoholism & addiction. Over 300 people joined us from across Georgia, along with attendees from Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, and even California. Many were visiting Valdosta for the first time, and because of Rainwater and Valdosta Tourism, they left with a wonderful impression of our community and the genuine Southern hospitality it offers. Every person we encountered made us feel valued. Aldea, our sales representative, was there for every question, every detail, and every change with kindness and professionalism. Truly hands on deck throughout the weekend. Willie, the Operations Manager, was present throughout the weekend, ensuring everything ran seamlessly. Ray in operations worked alongside us with such dedication that he felt more like part of our convention family than a member of the staff. Carla and her catering team poured so much care into every meal. The banquet was exceptional, the lunches were delicious, and our opening-night ice cream social brought smiles to faces of every age. More than one guest said it was the best ice cream they had ever tasted! The dinner was elegant Michelle the Chef and her Sous Nathan pulled out all the stops. What touched us most wasn't just the beautiful facility or the outstanding food--it was the heart behind everything they did. Every interaction reminded us that we mattered, that our mission mattered, and that they genuinely wanted our weekend to be successful. There are moments you'll remember long after an event ends, and this weekend is one of those moments for so many of us. Rainwater Conference Center helped create an atmosphere where people could reconnect, find hope, strengthen their recovery, and build lasting friendships. That is a gift we will never forget. To everyone at Rainwater Conference Center, thank you for caring so deeply, serving so graciously, and helping make our convention far more beautiful than we ever imagined it could be. Your kindness, professionalism, and generosity touched every person who walked through your doors. If you're looking for a place to host a conference, meeting, banquet, wedding, or any special event, look no further. Valdosta is blessed to have Rainwater Conference Center right here in our backyard, and we wholeheartedly recommend it. We arrived as clients, but we left feeling like family.

This was the only downer of our trip, and unfortunately where our friends wedding took place…read more First off I will say this is a very nice place, and the outdoor option with water in the background is great. The issues lies in the execution and staff. First off they told us that they didn't have the ingredients for the Signature Drink which upset the bride, but they had premade it and then soon after brought it out. This was a lack of communication for sure. Then servers went around many times looking at the place cards for dinner options. The wedding ended at 5:30, and we were not served food until 7:00. The staff seemed very unprepared, and they even forgot to give food to some of the bridal party who had to ask for their food. Also they brought tea out, but they never served it to us. So we had to get up and pour our own tea by getting cups from the bar. It was nothing more than a complete lack of preparation and communication. This should not happen when couples are paying you good money for a wedding like this one. Anyone in this area reading my review I highly recommend that you stay away and find another venue that is more prepared and attentive.

I've been to this park a few times now for their seasonal events as well as just regular days and I gotta say that every time I leave I count my days tell I can come back because I every time I come here I have a ton of fun! The park has a few roller coasters with the best one of them being Twisted Typhoon a Vekoma SLC and I must say this is one of the best versions of this out there as it's not that rough and very much so a Wild time! They have a handful of good options here everything that I have tried here has been delicious and flavorful especially when they do their food festivals, with my favorite of them being the Pumpkin Spice one as they had soo many unique options packed with that yummy flavor! The animals here are seriously one of the coolest parts of this park as you can feed a variety of them and get very personal encounters with them that is hard to come by anywhere else which makes for a really cool experience as well as an educational piece. They have a handful of rides here including a train and a Farris Wheel leaving something for everyone to enjoy! One of my favorite areas of the park has to be their swamp area where they have a boardwalk that takes you down a path around some animals and deep into the swamp nature making for one peaceful and beautiful experience that leaves you wanting to spend more time out here as this is a great way to forget where you are as it really doesn't feel like your at an amusement park while your out there. They also have a Waterpark in the back of the park that has a handful of slides as well as a lazy River that perfect for those hot days! Every time I come here everyone has always been super nice friendly which makes for a great experience every visit! Overall this is a truly great park that has something for everyone it is a great asset to the local community as well because it provides a positive experience for anyone that comes here! Totally add this to your bookmarks as it is a great destination park to spend some time at as they do also offer places to camp and park your RV at in the back, with that said I'm sure I'll be back here sooner than later as it is definitely time well spent in a wild way!

Never have I ever seen a lazy river so dirty. The health department should look into this. This was at 10:30am. No excuses. When we showered at home, bugs and debris came out of our hair.

Okay, we still checked in and the receptionist was pleasant and professional. Now this is where my rating took a nose dive. After getting off of the elevator to locate our room, first was the smell of dogs, followed by seeing white plastic bags in front of some of the rooms, and the hallway carpet was filthy however the room carpet wasn't as dirty, however it seemed not to be cleaned, such as shampooed, for a long time. Good thing I had slippers! The beds were not comfortable and the pillows were so flimsy. The room itself was manageable. The biggest issues were in the bathroom. This is where the age can be seen. Minimal attention was given to this private area. Also, there were no amenities in the bathroom. There were the standard products attached to the wall within the shower. The condition of the non-public areas (such as hallways and rooms) definitely shows aging and lack of attention. Another important point for those who suffer from animal allergies, like me! Make sure you take your allergy meds BEFORE going into the room. Usually rooms are designated for pets and non-pets. Not this hotel! That accounts for the smells and allergic reaction I experienced. I'm fine, just want to make folks aware. This is my first and last stay in this hotel.

They were fully booked, but she had a room set aside, in case of a room problem. 2nd room was significantly better, but not up to Hampton Inn/Hilton standards.
