We needed the stove within 6 days so the special 70th birthday party could happen! Our appliance repair man suggested Brown's, so we called them. They had the model in stock and were able to deliver it in 5 days! They gave us a very good price on the stove and the delivery. The truck came when promised, the men installed our new stove and took away the old one. They did everything smoothly, no scratches anywhere, took away all the garbage, even the stickers. They were very friendly and professional. I would recommend them for any type of appliance.

But the Lakes region isn't the kind of place where you can run over to Sears or Home Depot, pick out an appliance for delivery, and be done with it. We were struggling with how to replace that 1970s behemoth as we strolled around Port Carling when at the top of the hill rose Brown's Appliances. Brown's is a throwback to the small town Maytag store, family-owned and operated. Our sales associate, Jennifer, was extremely helpful throughout the entire process of selecting the refrigerators (we decided to replace the defunct mini-fridge in the bunkie as well), having the old ones hauled away, and installing the new. We appreciated her constant communication, particularly on the morning of delivery when it turned out the model of fridge we'd selected was only available in black in their warehouse. Jennifer assured us she was sending out a comparable model in white. In a typically American fashion, I suppose, we suspected a bait-and-switch, Googled the subbed-in model, and discovered its retail price was actually about $100 more than the one we'd originally selected. Brown's honesty and willingness to make up for their error really impressed us. We were equally impressed by the two burly men (one of whom was Jennifer's brother) who came and took the old refrigerators out *without* a dolly or hand truck. It couldn't have been easier, more pleasant, or any cheaper to have replaced a massive appliance in a part of Canada where even gas stations are few and far between. And we couldn't be happier with our gleaming, brand spankin' new beauty.

Called Hanks as they were they were suggested by Samsung to repair my dryer. The first time we had…read moresomeone come, he pulled apart my entire dryer and told us that they just needed to replace the drum belt but also replaced pulley's and a few other parts. The first repair person told us that we had a 3 month warranty. After the first repair, our dryer started making a nose that sounded like metal gridding against each other, we thought, maybe it's the new parts molding to the dryer but as the weeks progressed it got worse. So I called Hanks because their repair person was the last to touch the dryer. They send a different repair person to my house. Again, he pulls apart the entire dryer and tells me one of the parts is broken and I need to pay for it. NO THANKS...it's a part that you replaced. For some reason, the first repair man did not note it on the work order but verbally told us what he replaced. I told Repair man #2 that I was not paying for it and he can call who he needs to in order to do the job because had repair man #1 not touched what was not broken then we wouldn't be in the position. Repair man #2 called his "boss" who spoke with my husband and while speaking with my husband told him "why did you wait for 2 months" fair enough, but I have a warranty for a reason and I'm going to use it because again, it's a part that a repair person from Hank's replaced. Repair man #2's "boss" tells him to take him off of speaker phone not knowing I can still hear him and says to him "do you have the part? if so, replace it and tell them to fuck off and get the hell out of there" Perhaps you want to try and track who repair person #2 was speaking with and train them on their customer service and professionalism.

This was a very old stove in a rental property, and it did not make sense spending that kind of money to fix it. I decided at those prices I would throw out the stove and I purchased a second hand Inglis for $300 which is working perfectly. I am sorry I wasted my time and money with JSK.

The service man arrived promptly at the time I was told he would arrive After checking everything, he was confident a good cleaning inside would solve the problem. While he had the dryer apart, he noticed the belt was cracked and had stretched over time. It was replaced. A thorough cleaning was done including sensors. The dryer is operating like new.
