We're also members of an amateur haunted house building group in Southern California. All this to say we have seen a lot of great work through the years, and the craftsmanship at Haunted Manor is top tier. We loved the details and engineering. The lighting is smart to give you that creepy feeling without making you walk around in the dark. They offer a mix of traditional mini golf holes and others that are throwbacks to classic boardwalk games. The service was great and the manager was a horror film enthusiast who we enjoyed chatting with. We were wrapping up a cruise wich had a short 3 hour stop in Victoria, and stumbled on Haunted Manor as a fluke through Google maps. Glad we took the chance to spend an hour of our time here! The individual holes are a fairly small, but they're so well done, it doesn't really matter. Would love to see what they could do with a bigger location someday down the road.

For mini golf/putt we play with our clubs but sometimes we had to use our hands. Overall it was a unique course with a lot of surprises. They don't allow drinks on course which was a bummer. They do offer complimentary lockers for your things while you play. You can choose to have a drink or two before or after.

Lots of free…read moreparking, but the parking lot seems to usually be at 3/4 full. ---LUNCH--- Lunch was great, our server was very personable, sharing with us stories of her son's wedding while keeping our cups topped up with water. The food was also good. I particularly enjoyed the full monty burger. The daily special roasted lamb sandwich I didn't feel provided very good value since the sandwich was pretty small (though at $12 for the sandwich and a manhattan clam chowder, I guess that wasn't very expensive to begin with). The sweet potato fries with chipotle dip were great, they gave us an extra side for the table too. Pricing wise, it was cheaper than I expected at a golf club. Certainly, it's not Floyd's Diner level of value, but the menu is competitively priced and the food is good. ---WEDDING--- The outdoor area allocated for the ceremony was fantastic, under the shade of a couple large trees. It's not a purpose-built venue, meaning there aren't steps in the hill or a designated space for an aisle, but that lends a lot to the charm of the venue. The manager, Greg, was very helpful to a never ending barrage of wedding-related requests. Projector setup unfortunately didn't come with a HDMI to Displayport adapter needed for Macbooks. The buffet spread was very good. The salmon and chicken were very tender, much to my surprise. I had expected mass-produced meats to come out dry and tough as at most weddings. Unfortunately, they stopped replenishing the oysters partway through the night. 10/10 I would have my wedding here (if it wasn't so far...).

Got through front 9 in about 2.5 hours but really started to slow on last couple holes. We made the turn and it turned excruciatingly slow as it took us 45 minutes to play just 2 holes (10 & 11). Had we stayed, it likely would have been well over 3 hours to finish the back 9. There was a tournament in front of us and we saw the marshall at least 3 times but there was absolutely no impact on the pace of play. It was a complete waste of $93!!! Played Sunland the day before ($69 for 18 holes and cart) and much better experience. Not as nice of a course as Dungeness but at least pace of play was manageable and was still a pretty nice course. We had a drink and snack in the bar (I think it was called Stymies) and we enjoyed ourselves. The appetizers were very good (wings and steamers) and my only advice is get extra bread with steamers as the clam broth was very, very good. Cold beer, good drinks and good view of both UofW football game and Ryder Cup golf. Stymies would actually get a much higher rating from our group but since this is a review of Dungeness GC and Stymies, the golf experience really dragged it down. Regretted paying so much and only playing 11 holes but the pace was absolutely one of the worst I've ever experienced.
