stayed at Ballyhoo for seven nights...probably the prettiest, quietist, cleanest RV campground I've…read moreever been to...this place open in the 60's and it's very well maintained by the owners...the little playground is older and the pool is no more to eventually be turned into a dog park...the bathhouse was immaculate with a fold down bench and plenty of hooks in each shower stall...the water was hot with great pressure...loved it. Laundry room was also immaculate. There is a 2-3 acre grass field to walk your dogs...but pro tip invest in 50 foot long leash and your dog is able to get incredible exercise...very easy to get in and out of all the sites are gravel with grass surrounding...there is a picnic table and fire pit at each site...this place is an incredible value...I moved to another park in Dandridge packed with long term RV's and it's garbage compared to Ballyhoo and more expensive...I had a number of conversations with the hard working owners, the Watkins, and they are lovely people...I'd like to address an issue I see with some reviews on Google...Ballyhoo has campground rules no different than any other campground...I see people complaining and leaving poor reviews mostly because they don't want follow the simple rules...such as keeping their dogs on leash...they get upset when they get called out and then blame the owners...that's bullshit. I followed the simple rules like most do and had a great time. Thank you Doris and Stanley for a great stay.

first i want to say, thank you to the staff/owner. i recently stayed a night there on a whim while…read moretraveling through the area with my man on our motorcycles. after a very relaxing evening of a cool room and comfortable bed, we packed up and was ready to pul.l out and my motorcycle was dumping gas and it ignigted, the owner was standing there and seen the fire under my motorcycle, calmly he got a fire extenguisher and handed to my man and after it was out, he showed genuine concern for me and my well being. he offered us tools and helped find us a shop close by that we could call. we ended up staying another night in a different room, so we could move the bike to the end out of the way to work on it. the rooms were nice and had no issues at all, but the people were so great and hospitable the entire stay was incredible. i recommend this place to anyone. it is very safe and secure. again thank you so much to the owner for your concern it meant alot. this biker chic will be back and stay there every time i ride through that area.

Anthony and his wife went above and beyond any words I can describe. The pictures don't do it justice either. I had my mother, teenage son and daughter with me and we felt like we were at my Uncle's cabin on the lake. The hospitality was above and beyond, they had everything we hadn't thought of, and we weren't nickled and dimed for anything. You HAVE to add the boat cruise/entertainment to your stay. I've been all over and this Lake is massive, absolutely gorgeous and CLEAN. Forget Cumberland, Center Hill, Chicamauga, Percy Priest and others. Anthony showed us all the islands, several great swimming spots, numerous picturesque scenes, and more. The facility has memory foam mattresses, everything you need and they just continued to share their hospitality showing us how things were built, their amazing gardens and mountains. We know we will return and are already looking to plan our next trip, maybe this time take him up on one of the island stays where you get to boat, but they set you up completely on a private island to be able to take in a sunset, enjoy the entire lake and nature experience, but in true glamping fashion.

got kind of a late start heading west for a long weekend of rest and relaxation after dropping the…read morecutest of chicks off in Charlotte to catch a flight so I had to pack it in after just a few hours. the Cumberland County rest area was ideal for this since I wouldn't be driving into town first thing in the morning. didn't really notice much because it was late and I arrived tired and was up with the sun and a whole host of other poor excuses but it's a smaller version of the standard design with cars up front and trucks out back separated by green space for the facilities and vendo-land and picnic tables. for the safety conscious entry is by way of a big turn off the highway coming in and exit by way of a long sweepy curve to get up to highway speed (70-ish is good)

(Although the exit gate from the property was on a sensor that was a little finicky but worked). - Bathrooms were nice and had plenty of towels. - Beds were comfy and clean, would recommend bringing your own pillow if you dislike firm ones. - Washer & Dryer on property. - Lots of kitchen supplies (Foil, Plastic Wrap, Utensils & Plates/Bowls, spices, etc.) - Walmart & Gas within 30ish minutes of driving. - Go visit Falls Creek Falls & Rock Island for some awesome views. Cons: - Could use more lighting on the back deck for grilling, and a light on the side of the house for the fire pit. - Possibly some ghosts strolling through the neighborhood? We could distinguish acorns falling off and hitting things, but we did hear some random footsteps inside and outside of the house during the night time. After double checking the house, no other people or animals were within.
