My child goes here and I wanted to share some information about my kids personal time at this…read moreschool. My child is in 7th grade and has been going here since 6th grade. The education is great and is teaching my child at a good, fast pace. I do have to say, most of the teachers are pretty nice but a few of them are just are not nice at all. My kid has complained multiple times of the office staff making them feeling "embarrassed" about themselves. The office staff tend to be rude and "sassy" to my child and don't treat them with a good amount of respect. They seem to tend to favor certain kids as well. My child's friend (K) knows one of the women who works in the office and she tends to treat K better than the other kids. The past two principals have not been too great and have been quite rude to students. Staff and teacher tend to refuse to students common needs. I get it refusing to them a few times is okay, but it gets to a certain point where it is unacceptable. Although the school nurse is the best nurse my child has ever had at any school. A few things that are dumb are that the students are not aloud to bring food outside at lunch, you must stand at lunch and are not aloud to sit, lockers have been taken away, and they have a SUPER strict policy on keeping phones in these locked pouches. My child gets picked often and is called several inappropriate names. They have reported this several times but the office has never ever done anything about it. The staff is overall just poor. I give this school and 3 star rating. The education is good but some of the teachers and staff need to be better about hoe they treat these kids. If you have a child and are planning to send them here, please just do lots or research about it.

Hello, I'm a former 7th grader (now going into 8th grade soon) and I want to address some things…read morethat I've experienced. I don't wanna sound mean or be a Negative Nancy, but I'm just leaving some constructive criticism. Be warned, this review isn't for the faint of heart and It's serious. First of all, let's talk about the teachers. If you're an incoming 7th grader, just wish you don't get Mrs. Fiske, She's very strict and picks out popsicle sticks with students names on them if people don't answer her question. I thought we left the popsicle sticks in elementary? Anyways, here are some of the best teachers I recommend that you wish you could get for your schedule, Mr. Hansen is a very kind, understanding, and has comical humor for a substitute teacher for PE. Ms. Drutz is also kind and is a science teacher, but she got mad at me for something harmless. Second of all, let's talk about some of the things about this school that should be worked on. Taylor has a no phone rule now. "The expectation at Taylor is that all cell phones and smart devices are turned off and put away at 8:30 AM and can be turned back on at dismissal. Many students are very successful in meeting that expectation. Bullying in any form is not tolerated". Teachers are allowed to use their phones, and I see them use their phones, but students are not allowed to? and I still see students getting bullied even though "Bullying in any form is not tolerated"? that's pretty hypocritical, smh. The teachers, principals, and vice principals don't do anything about the bullying. They're blind as bats when it comes to bullying, but they have 20/20 vision and x-ray vision when they see a student on their phone. In essence, this school needs to do better and all they care about is phones.

My grandson attended Taylor for three years. All the time he was there he experienced bullying and…read morewas taunted in the classroom by other students with no staff intervention, until it became physical. There were multiple incidents of fighting over the years, but this last month he was jumped by a gang of students. While there may be a few caring teachers and staff; it isn't enough to negate the bullying and fights. Nor the lack of interest in a students well being. A few weeks ago he was harassed by a teacher. She pulled him out of class (she's not even his teacher) on two different occasions because she heard a rumor and wanted to ask him about it. During the discussions she actually made offensive, accusatory remarks to him. Her antagonism escalated when she decided to slander him in front of other students telling them to stay away from him because he was weird. As he walked away from her, she actually flipped him off with both hands. It was so hostile and abusive, another student reported it to staff and urged him to as well. Another observation is in learning and development. Following Covid; many children struggled when they got back to school and grades are low for some. Schools should focus on education and grades. There isn't any support or concern at all on grades. My grandson wasn't safe there; physically or emotionally and we struggled taking him there everyday and trusting them with his care. The only reason he wasn't pulled out was because it was the last month of school and we did not want it to impact his graduation. To date we are not aware of any actions taken regarding the teacher.

I know there are many out there because of your reverence for your high school years. It is what you called your best years. Even though Terra Nova's overall test scores are up this year and more college oriented students are coming in from outside areas , I suspect the no reviews is because most current students or past grads are not into high tech. Social networking people, tend to be tech savvy and have advanced degrees. I find most past TN grads to be blue collar, who have lived in the area all their lives with little care for what happens out of Pacifica, and proud of it. With all this said, of course Terra Nova has a great sports program and the booster to back it up. Football is top notch, Women's softball, Women's basketball, volleyball, etc. It also has great teachers who challenge their classes and want them to do more than the Pacfiica Norm. The new administration is finding its way. I hope they will without compromise.

The principal, faculty, and staff truly care about each student and it shows. If you are considering private high school, I highly recommend St. Dunstan's to lay the academic foundation. My daughter loves her teachers and said that the high school entrance exam was relatively easy compared to what they are learning at St. Dunstan's. I've spoken to many parents who transferred their kids in for middle school who've said they wished they had started at St. Dunstan's sooner because it is such a welcoming and warm environment. They have a ton of extracurriculars and events. Sports intramurals for K-3 and competitive sports for 4-8th. We have musical theater classes and performances. As well as Spanish classes and technology. Every month there are family friendly events- from family movie night, Casino Night, Lobster Feed, the father/daughter dance, family bingo night, lady knights and men clubs events, and so many fun events. We have the spring festival and middle school dances. Fun Day with games and an end of year school wide picnic. The kids are kind, respectful, and inclusive. The parent community is amazing and we have made lifelong friendships with other families. Choosing St. Dunstan's for our kids is probably one of the best decisions we have made for their academic, emotional, and social well being. We are grateful to Dr. Sandoval and her team for creating an environment where our children are thriving!

We originally were very worried about his transition and leaving all his friends and his known environment. It has been smooth transition so far. The Families in St Dunstan are very welcoming to our family. My son doesn't normally play team sports that involved balls, he made an exception with the baseball team in St Dunstan. He has thrived so much over the last few months we transitioned. Not only his grades are excellent but also his mental wellbeing has improved so much. He was encouraged to participate more in the class and he did, which he didn't do in the previous school. He participated in the class Spelling Bee that required him to speak and spell in front of everyone which was impossible for him to do before. The school staffs are very nice. They are very attentive of my son and our families. The teachers that he has, have been so accommodating and supportive in making him thrive in school. The school has Science, technology, Spanish, Art in Action and Creative Art. I was allowed to teach how to plant tulips and vegetables in their school plots that the Science teacher incorporated it to his lesson. There are many Non Catholic families as well and you wouldn't feel that they weren't part of the community. In terms of education, I observe that some of the teachers are willing to give extra help to those that need help which they do outside of the school hours. They also have resource teachers for reading and mental health. I also see that there will be accelerated Math for those who are advanced in Math. This will start in 5th grade.

This school is absolutely horrible. Kids are nice but ALWAYSS talk bad behind your back, disgusting…read morebathrooms because clearly no one learns how to flush, and there is drama EVERYDAY. Clearly, every time there is a fight, no counselor OR teacher doesn't seem to care. The time I saw a fight video, it lasted for 3 minutes before an actual staff member came to break it up. The principal is so rude and the assistant principal is very problematic, they say they care for students but they really are controlling. I would also like to add that no one CARES about your mental health--meaning if you put in a request to see your counselor it would take you WEEKS to meet with them. I know that they're busy and they have other things to do but it doesn't make sense how it takes them weeks to meet with you. The clubs are decent, but they aren't as fun. The only clubs I think upcoming middle schoolers would enjoy are drama, cooking/baking, and super smash club. The teachers that host those clubs are nice, funny, and care for students. Meanwhile, the elective teachers are so rude. Take leadership for an example, i applied last year and I worked absolutely so hard on the packet that they give you that makes you write a whole ESSAY. Second, the interview isn't even professional. The eighth graders are so mean and the second you say you're response they look at each other in THAT way and just write down on their paper. Not to mention their tone, absolutely not--so if you ever think of applying to leadership, I prefer not to. The teacher is unfair and chooses the WRONG people, meaning that the people they choose are petty and are self-absorbed. The leadership students are mean, disrespectful, inconsiderate, and only care about themselves. Also, squad the elective is so not worth it. This elective is basically a free period and doesn't let students to learn anything. This elective is supposed to help people with your problems or conflicts when really it's just a bunch of selfish students put together for a free period. And plus, the people they also choose are SO MEAN and when you talk about you're problems they snicker and don't even comfort you. The campus and bathrooms are disgusting, chaotic, and absolute mess, and feels unsafe meaning no one really enforces rules. So, if you care about your child and their mental health, or move to the city, do NOT consider this school as you're first choice because its an absolute disaster. I would prefer going to Westborough middle school because it may be very ghetto, but at least the teachers actually care.
