My kids genuinely enjoy coming to school and taking part in the wide variety of activities offered--there really is something for everyone. It's been incredible watching them come out of their shells so quickly. The teachers are relatable and approachable--seriously, how cool is that?! My kids are involved in cheer, track & field, and my freshman had the incredible opportunity to travel to Greece for spring break with the school. Of course, everyone's experience is unique, but for us, everything has been nothing short of fantastic so far. Highly recommend!

So many of the teachers extremely good at their job and need so much more praise than what they get. The student life is amazing there are so many groups and i feel like there is most definitely someone you could find with similar interests. The fine arts program is fantastic the band has sounded amazing and the dance program is popping off. The sports programs have been doing amazing recently basketball is being coached extremely well soccer aswell. The main problem i have with this school is the administrators. Ive never seen them happy literally ever and they always hating for no reason except the principle hes mysterious but hes cool. I havent even seen the one of the vice principals which is crazy. I feel so bad for Dr.McDonald because she is literally carrying this school on her back she puts in so much effort and has to take up so many classes and all of this because no one else wants to. The admins who barely do anything always taking credit for everything that the students and she does.

We always felt this campus wasn't very well-known, but once you get to know it, you'll discover it's a real hidden gem. The school's curriculum is very well-balanced. In addition to solid academic programs, it offers rich courses like Art, Music, Science, and Spanish. Children not only learn knowledge but also have the opportunity to develop their interests and creativity. This year, my child's academic progress has been remarkable. What surprised us even more was his personal growth. I used to think he was quite introverted and hesitant to perform in front of others, but with the encouragement of his teachers, he was fantastic at the Winter Performance. He confidently performed on stage, which was incredibly moving. His progress in social skills has also been a wonderful surprise. Many parents think Stratford is only about academics and lacks SEL (Social-Emotional Learning). In fact, the school integrates values like respect, responsibility, integrity, and care into daily teaching through the Character Counts! program, helping children learn to communicate, collaborate, and solve problems. Additionally, I really love the communication between the school leadership and parents. The principal, director and teachers are very willing to listen to parent feedback and respond proactively to issues, making us feel that the school and family are working together to support the child's growth. The school also offers abundant after-school resources. We've participated in Music Together, Chess, and Science, and my child loved them. For Kindergarten, there are also options like basketball, soccer, tennis, Cooking, and Gardening. Starting in K, you can sign up for the after-school Chinese program, which we did. We feel it's an incredible value for the price. Overall, this is a school that gives parents great peace of mind. The integrated schedule from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm means children can complete their studies and extracurricular activities at school without needing to rush to different places every day. It's very friendly for dual-income families. This year, we've seen our child grow in academics, self-confidence, and expressive skills, and we are excited for him to continue his journey at Stratford Crestmoor.

The education is great and is teaching my child at a good, fast pace. I do have to say, most of the teachers are pretty nice but a few of them are just are not nice at all. My kid has complained multiple times of the office staff making them feeling "embarrassed" about themselves. The office staff tend to be rude and "sassy" to my child and don't treat them with a good amount of respect. They seem to tend to favor certain kids as well. My child's friend (K) knows one of the women who works in the office and she tends to treat K better than the other kids. The past two principals have not been too great and have been quite rude to students. Staff and teacher tend to refuse to students common needs. I get it refusing to them a few times is okay, but it gets to a certain point where it is unacceptable. Although the school nurse is the best nurse my child has ever had at any school. A few things that are dumb are that the students are not aloud to bring food outside at lunch, you must stand at lunch and are not aloud to sit, lockers have been taken away, and they have a SUPER strict policy on keeping phones in these locked pouches. My child gets picked often and is called several inappropriate names. They have reported this several times but the office has never ever done anything about it. The staff is overall just poor. I give this school and 3 star rating. The education is good but some of the teachers and staff need to be better about hoe they treat these kids. If you have a child and are planning to send them here, please just do lots or research about it.

All of our children began at age 2 and stayed until they were ready for kindergarten. The teachers are incredibly loving, patient, and dedicated. They create such a warm and nurturing environment that makes the kids feel safe, happy, and excited to learn. My kindergartener even asks to go back for summer school...that says everything! When our pediatrician recommended speech therapy for my oldest, we decided to enroll him at Mills Montessori at age 2. With the support and guidance from the teachers, his speech improved so much that we didn't end up needing outside therapy. That meant the world to us. They also played a huge role in helping with potty training, which was another big milestone. We live in San Mateo, and this school is absolutely worth the commute. It checked every box for our family: academically, socially, and emotionally. Most importantly, our kids LOVE going there. Mills Montessori truly prepares children for kindergarten while providing a caring, supportive environment. We are so grateful we found this school and 100% recommend it to any family looking for a preschool.

We enrolled our toddler in this school with a lot of hope, but unfortunately it ended up not being…read moresupportive of our child's emotional needs. Our son started when he was two and struggled with separation. We understood that can be normal at that age and trusted what we were being told. What was especially hard for us was that we weren't told there were serious concerns until about six months in. At that point, the teacher asked to meet with us and told us that he "shouldn't be crying this much at this stage." The conversation felt less focused on how the school could better support him and more like we were being asked how to manage his emotions for them. As parents, that was really unsettling, especially given how young he was. There were also other moments that didn't sit right. We were told our child was crying during an overstimulating freeze game because it seemed like he "didn't want the other kids to be happy." On another occasion, when he was upset, a teacher pretended to call us in front of him and then said it went to voicemail. Those approaches felt confusing and absolutely not appropriate for a toddler. Our son also learns by observing first, but he was often pushed to participate before he was ready, without much flexibility to let him ease in at his own pace. We also had concerns around communication. For example, we were told sunscreen had been applied during outdoor time, but when we checked the bottle later, the seal was still on. His small wins also often felt overlooked and brushed off. When he completed projects or showed progress that felt meaningful to us, those efforts didn't seem to be encouraged. Looking back, there were other things that gave us pause as well. There was no waitlist and very few children in the class, which didn't stand out to us at the time but now feels like something we should have paid more attention to. When we ultimately decided to withdraw him, what stood out to us was that no one asked why. There was no follow-up from the teacher or director, no conversation about our concerns -- just a short message with the financial details. Two months after leaving, our son started at a new school, and the difference was immediate. Within just three days, he was happy, comfortable, and excited to go to school. He is thriving in an environment that better understands and supports him, which confirmed for us that the issue was not our child -- it was the care and environment. I'm sharing this so other parents, especially those with sensitive toddlers, can ask very specific questions about emotional support, communication, and how concerns are handled.
