We spent last weekend at High Pointe and would highly recommend it! Everyone was so nice, and the place was beautiful and off the beaten path. We enjoyed walking around and seeing the horses. One of the trainers gave us a tour of his barn, plus we went down and watched the horses practicing on the track. On a side note, I left a bag of souvenirs behind, and I called the next day and the staff found it and mailed it to me! Very nice people! We will definitely be staying here again! read more

This was a "high point", for sure on my visit to Kentucky. It was easy to book, a terrific value (we paid for the Bourbon tasting as well as the tour--delish!) and our tour guide Cheyenne could not have been better. She not only introduced us to some beautiful horses, but to some of the staff and trainers as well, who were generous with their time and knowledge. Have already recommended Highpointe to others. Hope to return someday. read more

What a great day we had at HighPointe Farms. The farm itself was extremely beautiful and, surprisingly, clean. All the people we encountered during the tour were very friendly and helpful. Our guide, Cheyenne, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely accommodating. She answered all our questions and happily took photos for us and never tried to rush us. During the bourbon tasting, she surprised us with her bourbon knowledge giving her young age. Even though we did a Bourbon Tour the day before, we actually learned more about bourbon and the bourbon process from Cheyenne than we did from the distilleries. We highly recommend HighPointe Farms, with the bourbon tasting. We look forward to returning for a visit. read more

Highpointe Farm and Training Center is a 235-acre Thoroughbred training facility located in La Grange, Ky. This beautiful farm features some of the best amenities for Thoroughbred training in the country, including a 6-furlong dirt oval track where there is a view deck of the track and farm, 1/4-mile indoor poly track and a 5/8-mile uphill poly track. The farm is home to over 300 Thoroughbred Horses that go through active training 6 days a week in preparation for racing. Tour guests will be visiting the tracks and walking through one of the 8, multi-stall barns on the property. During this unique experience, they will be able to observe the main focus of Highpointe: trainers and horses, hard at work during the early hours of the day. At the end of this behind the scenes view of the farm, guests will have the opportunity to interact with some of the retired racehorses and explore our newly renovated Welcome Center and Gift Shop. After this tour guests will have the opportunity to sit through a Kentucky Whiskey Bourbon tasting or be able to enjoy a glass of hand selected wine. Horses and Bourbon, Kentucky's richest traditions all in one place!

Who knew it was (the first!) site of vertebrate paleontology in the US? Interestingly, there is also a short hike through a wooded area (5-10 min) that takes you to a mini-zoo-like viewing area for a herd of Bison kept there. They were pretty lethargic on this hot summer day but cute nonetheless. It's at least worth one short visit here -- a worthy investment of ~35 mins from downtown Cincinnati, anyway.

This was the highlight of their week! Tim was helpful too since this was our first time renting an RV. Such a wonderful evening! We will be back!!!

We took a tour with Cheyenne two weeks ago and loved every minute of it. The site is really impressive--expansive, well maintained, beautiful--and it was fascinating to learn about what is involved in high-level training. We met trainers, had a chance to hear the histories of some of the horses, and were able to watch warm-ups and gate training. And we loved the bourbon tasting that followed our tour! Cheyenne was a wonderful guide; her knowledge of the site, the training process, and of the bourbons we sampled was most impressive. I'd love to go back to stay in the cabins overnight. This is an easy drive from Louisville, and LaGrange itself is a charming little town. Highpointe is well worth a visit! read more

We recently visited and stayed at Highpointe Farms. We had a single bedroom cabin with a view of the pond and horse stalls. The cabin provides everything you would need including in room washer and dryer, refrigerator, etc. The property itself is second to none. It is amazing and nothing like we have ever experienced. Most people will never get a chance to stay at a functioning large horse training center w spectacular views. it's kind of like field of dreams for baseball fans. I highly recommend Highpointe Farms and we will be back. 5* easy. A++++ read more

Had an amazing time visiting the farm. We got to go on a tour of the entire place. The tour guide Cheyenne did an incredible job with her bright smile and knowledge of the place. It was like every question I had was answered before I could ask it. Highpointe farm was a great visit with beautiful scenery. Would definitely recommend! read more
