My rating is based on the lack of professionalism from the receptionists and manager at this location. (5 stars for Dr. Kirn Bains, but not the clinic)
This clinic has called over three times to harass me about booking an appointment that I'm currently on a waiting list for. I wasted my time explaining when the receptionist should have had my file open in front of her. Not only did she fail to apologize and take responsibility for her error, she attempted to blame me for not booking the appointment sooner... I've worked multiple jobs in customer service and was completely baffled by the level of unprofessionalism. She had the audacity to ask me to "explain the misunderstanding to the manager" when there wasn't a misunderstanding, only a lack of comprehension on her end. I was never passed on to the manager, most likely because she knew she was at fault.
By the end of the call, she figured out how (or finally made an effort) to open my file and went on like nothing happened... As if she didn't just talk in circles and deny everything I told her. She even argued with me that there "aren't waiting lists" for what I was on a waiting list for - DELUSIONAL! The same woman who harassed me on June 17th, called me again today and was completely oblivious for the second time. How could a receptionist repeatedly struggle to view someone's file!? Please learn how to do your job, blaming clients for your own laziness without apologizing is PATHETIC. You know who you are.
Not only that, during a past visit, a receptionist lied to my boyfriend's face and told him there were "no other washrooms in the building" after the bathroom in the waiting area had been in use for over 45 minutes. When I asked if my boyfriend could use a washroom, she told me he could use the one in the back... I went outside to find him, and he explained they told him there was only ONE washroom. Lying to a client and misleading them based on the way they look is discrimination, whether the manager of this clinic wants to acknowledge reality or not. I went back in to complain, waited around a few minutes, and left a note to express my disgust because there weren't any receptionists available (once again, highly unprofessional).
On my way home, the manager called me. I assumed it would be to apologize, but that was too much to expect... Not even a simple apology for blatantly discriminating against someone for having face/neck/hand tattoos. The manager was the most unprofessional person I've ever spoken to, she made numerous excuses that contradicted everything the receptionists said and lied to me about their protocol. She insisted my boyfriend "didn't experience discrimination," completely denying what happened. He was lied to that there was only ONE washroom, not that he couldn't use the washroom in the back. The other washroom was only offered to him when I asked, not when HE asked - that's discrimination. Period.
The manager claimed the bathroom in the back was "only available in an emergency." I asked if that meant my boyfriend had to be throwing up or shitting himself to use it, she said yes. I asked why the receptionist broke protocol by offering the washroom to my boyfriend when I asked, knowing it wasn't an emergency. She made up a convoluted excuse about the client who took an hour in the washroom and implied I had no reason to be unsatisfied. The manager insisted I should condone allowing someone to hog the washroom for an hour, and happily said she would allow it to happen again. She kept pausing, leaving long breaks of silence, waiting for me to apologize... I called her out and asked why she kept pausing when I was waiting to hear an apology. She failed to apologize.
During another appointment while I was waiting, the same issue happened with the bathroom in the waiting area! The same client was using the bathroom for 1.5 hours (I overheard the receptionist knocking on the door, letting her know they had to assist her out). This time they actually escorted her out so people in the waiting area could use the bathroom... Unbelievable! read more
