absolutely the worst walk in clinic I have ever experienced. I understand that the medical system…read moreis overworked but my experience was so humiliating. I waited over an hour to get an appointment for my son and I. they said I had a spot at the end of the day. My other child needed me so I had to cancel my appointment even though I was very sick. I tried calling repeatedly to let them know I couldn't make my appointment. There was no answer. I sent my son for his appointment with someone else who could bring him while I stayed with my daughter. my son let them know I couldn't make it. They sent me a bill for $89. A week later my sickness has gotten worse and I went back to see if I could see a doctor. I waited for over an hour again and they said they would only let me see the doctor if I pay $89. I emailed and explained the situation but there was no response. The two women at the front desk were incredibly rude , belittling and dismissive. I have never experienced anything like it. I have to go to urgent care now for a chest cold that has developed into pneumonia. I believe they are trying to make money off of vulnerable people in that clinic. i am a single mom doing my best to see a doctor and care for my children . I am so disturbed by the treatment I received at this place. I have never written a bad review for anyone before but I feel in this case the public needs to be aware.

The medical practice on the second floor has clean, well equipped facilities, attentive receptionists, and caring doctors and nurses who have bent over backwards to fit me in and to care for me after my recent, unexpected little surgery at Peace Arch Emergency. Special thanks to ER physician, Dr. Hendry and to my GP, Dr. Sangha. 3. I realize that I am fortunate to have a GP at all because there is a shortage. If I were new to the South Surrey, White Rock area, I might well have to stand in line in the early morning to have a chance at being seen that day by any doctor at the walk-in clinic on the first floor. I am unfamiliar with the quality of care at the walk-in clinic.

Long waits despite appt are frequently peppered with angry confrontations btwn Dr. and patient. Referral to a specialist may take many months if at all. No interest, no follow-up. No basic cross-checking. In one case specialist arranged appt but 'reception' failed to notify. Required new appt just to find out! A routine, recurrent script for the same thing a specialist had prescribed with monthly refills for a yr required two appts at Sullivan. God help anyone in the kind of pain that requires opioids, the medical profession's whipping boy that ensures cowardly MDs will continue to undertreat extreme pain. Sullivan MDs have no interest in investigating any condition not easily identified using a crass med school reductionist model and NO mitigation is offered for even the most urgent, debillitating symptoms while awaiting specialist. Basically, a bunch of rank amateurs some less charming than others. Sullivan, alas, is now the rule not the exception in Canada's destroyed health scheme. Successive assaults of uninvested foreigners offered full access in exchange for votes - votes Cdns will no longer confer - votes very much intended to dilute Cdns' votes - along with med school entry bias in favor of any BUT Cdns has proved our undoing. Canadians pay a scandalous amount of tax for health care. Why, when it's this bad? Most galling is our inability to contract with a specialist we select ourselves on OUR time. MSP won't pay. Why not?! Basic quality care from a GP is now a luxury few Cdns enjoy. Hell, we're lucky if the treating MD, typically now a stranger at some impersonal factory clinic, is even civil. Too many of our overpaid, overloved MDs GP and specialist alike are just plain insulting. Why? B/c they know we have no recourse. We have to take it along with the endless wait times. Phooey! The BC College of Physicians and Surgeons has been well aware for more than five yrs of the dangerous dearth of GPs in South Surrey yet they STILL do nothing to mitigate. Is it time to end MDs' rapacious monopoly, which operates on condition that they protect the public interest? How much worse must our health services become before this lazy, corrupt governing body stirs its ancient Industrial Age stumps? That the College's shameful collusion in covidiocy is now the subject of action at the International Criminal Court (ICC) is still further grounds to end its unearned monopoly and increase competition among MDs in Canada in line with demand. If the College fails to ensure reasonable access to medical care at a reasonable standard we the people must demand termination of the monopoly and a corresponding reduction in tax as MDs are forced once again to the market to compete for our custom with competitive pricing. I say, bring it.

Hello, my name is Ross Bailey and I have been a resident here at Pacifica in South Surrey since…read moreApril, 2016. I have to admit I love it here. When you enter the main lobby you are greeted by a pleasant staff, a standing waterfall, beautiful surroundings, complete floor rug, warm colored walls, well placed pictures and relaxing soothing music playing in the background. You have all the amenities you need. Full underground parking, a separate area to keep you scooter or bike with an electric output in each stall, a heated pool, a fully equipped exercise and fitness center, change rooms with washroom facilities all spotlessly clean. On the ground floor you have a computer room, elevators front and back, dining facilities with a specially prepared small dining area in case you want to entertain guests. You also have a beauty parlor for both men and women. And for those who have a green thumb there are built up plots of ground in a court yard to grow your favorite herbs, veggies or flowers. There is an exercise and games room where at 10 AM every morning except Sundays you can go to get your organized low energy workouts. Games are organized every week, such as indoor horse racing and computerized bowling, etc. Oh yeah, I forgot, there is a Theater and Snack Bar where Movies and Documentaries are shown every day. There is a Wellness Centre used for discussion groups and medical services. Life Labs Mobile comes every Monday morning at 9 AM to take blood from anyone who has signed up. The games room is equipped with tables for people to play card games such as Whist, Bridge and Blackjack. On the second floor there is a library, a Dance floor with music provided by various artist at least every Friday, a puzzle room and billiard/pool room. Although you can live here completely self-contained it's nice to get out once in a while too. You have some options, 1. If you have a car or scooter you're free to go. 2. If you don't have transportation and can walk or use a walker then you go out the front door, walk 30 yards to the gated fence go through the gate, walk 100 yards across the Safeway underground parking lot, take the elevator up to the ground floor and voila, you're on the sidewalk with Safeway on the left and the Dollar Store on the right. This mall also contains chiropractors, optometrist, dress shops, walk in clinic, Gov't liquor store, sushi shop, manicure parlour, London Drugs, pizza shops, specialty grocery store, high end Italian restaurant, and other shops and offices. So within walking distance you have everything you need. 3. Pacifica has their own bus with wheelchair assisted entrance and there are daily excursions to shopping malls, points of interest and museums, farmers markets, casinos and restaurants. 4. You can apply for door to door Handy Dart Service. Within the handy DART service there is a supplementary Taxi Saver program that allows you to use a taxi at a reduced price. So no matter what your condition is, you still have your freedom to do pretty much anything you want to do. I'm sure I've missed somethings but that is basically it. The private suites vary in size and amenities but most have fridge, stove and sink, more than adequate when all your meals are or can be supplied. The hallways are wide and distinctive, the walls are decorated with very fine paintings. The outside surrounding are very well manicured and maintained. We get our bedding and towels washed every week and a housemaid cleans our suites every week as well. There is medical help 24/7 if there is a problem. The dining room staff is excellent, very willing to help you if you have an issue with the food. And yes, the food is very, very good. This is a bit long winded but it gives you an idea of what you will get at the Pacifica Retirement Residence in South Surrey. Just so you know, no one asked me to do this, I'm sitting at my computer in my suite, I happened to look at the Pacifica website and noticed that some person filed a complaint. So I thought I would respond. In summation, if you're looking for a place to spend the rest of your life, this is the place for you to come.
