Sophie, the Owner, also offers unique specialty classes like teacup succulent gardens, tote paint night, beaded flowers and vase painting, bedazzling a favorite book, to name just a few. A really interesting and original variety. I took a Pet Portrait Painting class and had so much fun. I did realize though that I am very errr.. particular, so perhaps painting is not my artistic future. Sophie was incredibly helpful when it came to getting started and progressing along, plus mixing colors to achieve the look I wanted. Bonus that cool tunes were playing throughout our painting. I am really happy with how the portrait of my kitten turned out. We even left with our pictures in an upcycled frame. She has a bunch of fun things planned for the future, so I can definitely say I'll be a regular. Parking was easy as there is free lot attached to the building. Some beverages and light snacks are available for purchase, as well as take home art projects like cross stitch and embroidery.

Several different options from covers, lined, unlined, dotted, smaller/closer lines vs more widely ruled.... I have tiny handwriting, especially with my better, more fine tipped pens I prefer to journal with, so finding a closely ruled journal I like isn't always easy. The wrapping paper options were also lovely, and the selection of items around the shop for not only journaling and book themed things was great, unusual but often undervalued items. My friend finally found more reusable makeup rounds, complete with their own storage bag, after she's been looking for a few months to replace the ones she's had and used for years but are starting to show some definite wear. The cashier and person assisting with stocking were both friendly and helpful without being pushy/overly involved (ALWAYS appreciated as an introvert!). I found not only the perfect journal for my preferences but also picked up a small craft project and both were very fair in price.

They had…read morea really big selection of art supplies and it was so refreshing to walk in to a real mom and Pop art store, And they've been here for over 30 years! They had a lot of different types of premium paints including oil paint, acrylic paint and watercolor paint, and others. Also many different types of premium and economy paintbrushes many varieties and brands. And the owner came and helped me. She was explaining to me all the different paintbrushes, and I felt so happy that she cared that much to help me find what I was looking for. They also have pan pastels which you don't find in stores very much And a really big selection. Also different types of water colors. They had pigment powders, gold leaf, alcohol inks, markers section, clays . They also had a nice selection of canvases with different sizes. So one of the reasons I came because I heard they gave classes here, which is very exciting, you can definitely tell this is a place where the community comes and talks about art and enjoys other artist company. Because everybody that worked there was so helpful and friendly and very warm and welcoming. I'll definitely come back again when I'm in the area!

Back then or even twenty years ago it was no surprise to find an actual scrapbook store throughout many cities. Sadly, now, it is almost impossible to find brick and mortar store. I believe when I moved down to Florida 18 years ago there were 3 stores that I frequented often and now, only Scraporium is left. When I am in the Carrollwood or Lutz area , I always stop in if it's during business hours to see what they have added to the store or if there is anything that I must have. The ladies that work, there are always so nice and polite and willing to help find anything that you may be looking for that.They have as the store is very packful of various goodies. I truly hope they are successful enough to remain open for years to come.

Some things were a good price and some things were higher than average. But the fact that it's a small and local place made me comfortable paying a premium. There was a woman when we walked in that acknowledged us but we weren't sure if she was a manager or just a customer. When we went to pay, we were second in line and the lady at the cash register (I assume owner) disappeared without saying a word after she helped the people in front of us. Not sure what happened but we waited several minutes before we could check out. No other customers were in the store at the time. I'll be back, though :)
