I've done multiple pawn transactions with this shop using the exact same iPad. Each time, the item was accepted, evaluated, and I was able to pawn it without any issues. Today, I came in expecting the same process, but suddenly I was questioned about where I purchased it, whether it was paid off, and then told I needed a bill of sale. When I asked why this was never required during my previous transactions with the same item, I was told "maybe they made a mistake." Why is everyone not on the same page? I understand businesses have policies and requirements, but the inconsistency was frustrating. If documentation is required, customers should be informed upfront and the SAME standards should be applied EVERY time. After being a repeat customer, I expected better communication and consistency. Instead, I left feeling like I was being treated as suspicious over an item you had already accepted multiple times. read more

Walked in today and was literally in the store for 30 mins, and not one person greeted me. I tried to get their attention a few times and no luck..felt racial motivated to me. But I could be wrong, I don't know, because when another customer walked in, not my color, or looked like me, they spoke and were literally breaking their necks to help them. Which is disappointing, given that there aren't any other pawn shops in Princeton. Just be aware when you shop here. read more

I had called this place before heading that way to this place to find out if they would accept a certain item and in fact they had said " yes " I was even being Pacific about the item if they would take it and again they said " yes " once I have arrived to the place , this " old lady " confront me without even saying " do we need help " and saying instead " we don't accept those " and I told her " I had called and someone said yes " and she continue saying " I don't think anyone said that " without even asking anyone else if there was someone who had spoke with us . I have done business with pawn shops for most of my adult life, and while this place isn't the worst, I can't give it more than two stars for one very simple reason; They don't want to sell anything. Seriously, I was looking at a holster for a .22 revolver I owned and they had one in the "random holsters" pile in a basket on the counter. It was $20 and I asked, "what's the best you can do, cash out the door?" figuring they'd maybe say $15 or something. Nope. Not one penny would she budge. She started explaining that she could get that or more for it on eBay. I wondered about the hassle of listing, selling and shipping vs a guy standing there with a $15 bill for her, but she was firm. So I thanked her for her time and left. Came back at least 6 months, maybe more later... same holster same price, same exchange. (I wonder if she remembered it was me?) I guess she either never got around to eBaying it or that was simply a blow off to my offer, but whatever. I spotted a ring I wanted to buy for my wife but the price was way too high even for pawn shop goods. I got a cash today quote on it almost a year ago and they came off a little, but not enough for me to pull the trigger just then. So I waited. Wife and I talked about the ring and debated on buying it. I went to talk to them about it a couple of weeks ago, and not only was the original asking price higher it seemed, but the "cash today" price was higher than the original. I'm always impressed by their inventory, until I realize that they're pretty proud of it also. read more
