Prices are a LITTLE high compared to what you're going to find online, but the customer service and immediate availability more than makes up for it. The selection is something that rivals FYE in its hayday with a much smaller footprint and you're going to still find some really obscure titles which is just wonderful. First time visiting this location. Turned out to be a great visit while in town. The employees were very helpful with all my questions and made several suggestions. The selection at this store was really nice and I was able to purchase extra items I currently needed. I was surprised how the prices were very fair to other companies. We came really close to closing time so I wasn't able to spend a whole lot of time looking around, but man do I wish I could have!! Going to this store really took me back to my childhood with all the isles of dvds to sift through and possibly buy. Definitely got a little bit of BlockBuster vibes, and man do I miss that store. I swear they had about everything you could be wanting as it relates to movies and shows, and for great prices. There were also movie posters and even games for nintendo, game boy and many of those "old" play station gadgets (they really aren't that old but with everything coming out nowadays, you know). There was even more that I didn't mention because I didn't have much of a chance to check the rest out, but such a cool stop! Absolutely stellar service and a great selection given the size of this store. Came in at 7pm, customer service had my large box of trade-ins processed in less than 30 minutes. Shopped for movies while I waited and managed to get some great pickups along the way. I especially love the variety and selection from this store. Couldn't find a handful of movies I was looking for, but she was great at telling me which other stores had them in inventory. Prices were reasonable, and their BluRay section is solid. Despite the size of the shop, they have a decent 4K BluRay section too. Which was cool to find. It's the closest Movie Trading Co to my home, so I expect to make a lot of trips here. do not purchase vintage media here. They intentionally destroy the condition before you leave. I bought a gameboy color game and at the register the kid put TAPE on the front label... taped it to a piece of cardstock for no reason, so when i got home and pulled it off, the label ripped. Didnt notice until i got home to play it, pulled it out of the bag and my heart dropped. Management really needs to teach these kids born in the 2000s that labels on vintage media are fragile and cant have TAPE flippantly put on it for no reason at the register... immediately regret my purchase now that the label is ruined. I can't tell you how happy I am to have discovered this store. All these xbox and ps3 games nobody carries anymore because they're not the current consoles or old enough to count as "retro" (e.g. N64, Sega Genesis, etc.) The staff here are amazing and helped me track down a long list of items (see pics) and everything is fairly priced. read more

There must be a rule in the employee handbook for Movie Trading that requires anyone who works in the store to be miserable, unfriendly grumps. As much as I love to shop used DVDs, vintage games, and underrated gems, there's something off-putting about having to deal with a bunch of standoffish college kids. No offense to anyone else who may be a quality employee who loves their job but the three folks I had the "pleasure" of interacting with were the worst examples of customer service I've seen. This location has actually been around for a long time; I can't believe they haven't been on Yelp! until now. Fairly large in size, the Frisco store has a lot to offer. I went in looking for "Quantum of Solace" on Blu-ray, and they had it in new and used. Of course, I found out later that WalMart had that and another title I bought for the same price as the used discs I bought here, but sometimes, it's better to support a smaller business, and Movie Trading Company is a worthwhile business. The store was clean, well stocked and organized. Access is a little tricky if you're coming from the South (basically have to U-turn on Preston after driving past it), but it's not that bad. Give them a try if you're looking for something used! They also have a very limited selection of HD-DVDs at rock bottom prices for those us, er, uh, I mean, YOU with those players. :) read more

The girls working at this store were super sweet and helpful! Mary Ann (aka Mar) was a Godsend with and a joy to talk to. It was exactly the balm needed to take the sting out of having just had a horrible experience with Stephanie (the manager at Beltline) and one member of her staff. At this store I felt like I was appreciated as a customer and not unappreciated / talked down to. I received nothing but helpful and super positive vibes here and reciprocated with spending my hard earned money here. I was really impressed with just how much Mar understood the importance and customer service being #1 (being so young). This was astounding in contrast to someone many years her elder not understanding that basic concept and clearly not instilling in her young impressionable employees. It is truly the difference in leadership and quality staff here! Truly it was like NIGHT and DAY. Both of the girls working that day are destined for success! I came over here after the game I was looking for was not at the chain store I usually go to. I was very supposed to find that they had a larger selection of games at lower prices than my regular dig. The sales associates helped me find exactly what I was looking for in a manner of minutes and gave me suggestions on similar games that I might like. Then upon leaving It occurred to me that I needed to give a gaming headset as a gift this year, and they were very knowledgeable and gave me the information I need to make a decision on which one I need to get in the near future. I waited to be helped for 5 or 6 minutes only to be told to go find the item myself. Frisco location. Just dropped off what I will admit was a lot of Blueray movies to be sold. The two girls working there, Haley and Axel, were rude from the beginning. I asked a few simple questions and it was pretty obvious Haley was annoyed with even having to deal with us. My husband brought a wireless phone charger over to them and just lifted the flimsy plastic cover off, (it would have fallen off on its own if picked up wrong), to see if it would pick up the charge through his new phone case. Haley snatched it from his hands and with the attitude of a disrespectful child said "no it's a new item!" Anything we asked was returned with the same attitude. We have taken several movies there in the past and love taking our children to let them pick some out as wel. I'm glad our kids were not with us this time to see what a disrespectful snotty little brats look like. Not a fan. Tried to take in a console for a fair trade. After 30 min of the girl playing a game on the system I was offered a very low offer. Could have saved me a lot of time and energy if they just made this public. They have a white board they gives trade/cash info on games and movies but not consoles. After I rejected the offer they had to box up my system. That was fun to watch except they could figure it out and tried to give it back opened with parts not fitting correctly. The associates response was "is this good enough." No it wasn't and they finally got it right, but not a fan of wasting my time like that. read more
